At what point does the development of a collection cells grow into a human being? This is not related to Faith.
At the moment of conception, as has been defined the Church as an article of faith.
I believe that when we fail in our stewardship of the natural resources entrusted to us, God is just as offended as He is when we reject procreation.
The abuse of non-human creatures is not as offensive to God as the abuse of human creatures. The euphemism “reject procreation” is too broad here. Wearing a condom is rejecting procreation. Abortion is also rejecting procreation. Abortion is also murder. Abortion is therefore more offensive than wearing a condom, and definitely more offensive than being a bad steward.
Taking a “morning after” pill may or may not be a sin, but I am pretty sure that the sin is not murder.
It is the intentional and unjust killing of a human being. I dom’t see where a Catholic, or all people, could come up with the idea that abortion is not murder.

Also, separation of Church and State is a heresy.

At what point does the development of a collection cells grow into a human being? This is not related to Faith. According to my Faith, this is a moot question because fully human or not, procreation is a Gift from God, and to reject that gift is an offense to God.
Determining personhood is a necessary function of the State in order to adjudicate the rule of law regarding murder.

To be perfectly honest, I do not know when God creates a soul or even if it is consistent in every case, but it does not concern me because my Faith informs me that procreation is a gift from God, and to terminate a pregnancy offends God.

I would point out to you that ISIS would agree with you that separation of Church and State is heresy _ and that is precisely the reason that the separation of Church and State is an absolute necessity in a free society.

Are you familiar with the Act of Contrition? It begins:

Oh my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended thee, and I detest of all my sins because I dread the loss of Heaven and the pains of Hell, but most of all because they have offended Thee who art all good and deserving of all my love…

Sin is about offending God who is all good and generous and loving. The gifts that He gives to us are precious, and we should value and respect all of them in every way.

God has guided, protected, and blessed me and my family throughout my entire life - actually beyond anything I could have thought to ask of Him. And even though I have been consistently unworthy, I acknowledge Him in all things and value ALL of His gifts - the most impactful of which is Faith.

Do you really think the Wall Streeters are “mindless”?
No, they just know the tax cuts that will destroy the poor will be good for shareholders. Especially now that before the taxes have even been cut the leadership is talking about cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. The poor and elderly dying in the streets and low corporate taxes is great for the stock market.

Democrat Justice Ginsberg, however, would disagree with you. At least in the past she favored 12 as the legal “age of consent”.
She actually didn’t, but some people like their fantasy that she did.

The GOP isn’t winning anything. In fact, it’s bexominf clearer and clearer that Trump may end up being the best thing that could’ve happened to the democrats. His election had been leading to grassroots campaigns and people entering office who have never worked a day in politics. Trumps laughable stint at the WH is forcing the democrats to finally move the party forward.

2018 is going to be bad for the republicans.

Also, why do you put “child molester” in quotes in regards to Roy Moore? It you choose to believe these women, then he’s not a “child molester”, he’s a child molester.

To be perfectly honest, I do not know when God creates a soul or even if it is consistent in every case,
So then why don’t you listen to the Church, who have told you when it occurs?
I would point out to you that ISIS would agree with you that separation of Church and State is heresy
I seriously doubt ISIS is worried about governments not adhering to basic Catholic standards of decency.
You’re the only one saying that.
If you say electing Doug Jones is “decency” then you are saying abortion is “decency”.
The GOP isn’t winning anything.
Except all those elections they already won. Democrats are like 2/10 since Trump’s election. Anyway, I’m not wedded to a GOP win. They will win in 2018/2020 but that’s only a partial good as far as I’m concerned.

Well, no that’s not true. If I believed these women (I don’t) then he would be guilty of sexual assault of a minor. But that’s a moot point anyway becauae I don’t believe he did sexually assault the 14-year old as there is no corraberating evidence to suggest he did.

The word “molestation” can describe any age victim.

A 14 year old is a child. It is the correct description.

The word I have a problem with is “child” not “molestation”. A 14-year old is not a “child” they are a young-adult or possibly an adolescent. Biologically speaking, a child is a human being between birth and puberty.

99% of all people will hear “child molester” and think pedophile. They would not think: had sexual relations with a teenager.

There is corroborating evidence.
  1. He approached her at the courthouse with her mother there.
  2. There are court records that show both he and she were there at the same time.
  3. She told 2 friends about it when it happened.
  4. She told her mother about it.
  5. She told her husband about it
All of these disclosures happened before he ran for Senate. Years before.

The race is over now.

He lost.

He shouldn’t have run.

Oh. Nice. People under 18 are children.

A 14 year old is a child, and unable to consent in the state of Alabama.

So what you have is evidence that they were in the same place at the same time at one point in their lives, and hearsay from people intimately connected with girl, given 40 years after the fact. That’s pretty thin gruel to make an accusation.
People under 18 are children.
So you would call someone who had sex with a 17-year old a “child molester”?
A 14 year old is a child, and unable to consent in the state of Alabama.
A 14 year old is legally unable to consent in Alabama, that is true. However, Alabama law also distinguishes between sexual contact with a 14-year old and sexual contact with a child.

A 14 year old could not consent in Alabama, and a prosecutor knowing that still brought her to his home with intention of having sexual contact with her.

That’s a felony.

An attorney faces disbarment when the commit a felony.

Seriously, how scuzzy does a candidate need to be before it invalidates him being prolife?

That primarily benefits the wealthy. Sure those of us with an employer sponsored retirement plan may get a couple crumbs that fall off the table but the vast majority of stocks are owned by a small percentage of Americans. So in short, it’s not surprising that the wealthy are benefiting by Trump’s presidency. Now lets see some of that trickle down

Interestingly… the age of consent here in Canada was 14 until less than a decade ago. That fact disgusts me. The Conservative Harper government raised it to 16 at the federal level. What disgusts me even more is that the very left-leaning NDP opposes raising the legal age…never comprehended their objection.

Actually, that would be Class A misdemeanor. You people really need to be more accurate when you are talking about these things.

Can. 1083 §1. A man before he has completed his sixteenth year of age and a woman before she has completed her fourteenth year of age cannot enter into a valid marriage.

(Emphasis mine)

Doh!

To be fair, the wealthy benefited a great deal from the Obama presidency as well. Those who bought stocks during the beginning of his presidency and held on till the end did quite well.

They wouldn’t have done as well if the Republicans hadn’t blocked anything Obama tried to do to change things.
