I agree with you 100%.

I’d like to add that none of us are in perfect communion with Christ. That includes the pope, gay people, divorced people and all the people in this forum. We are the same. We are sinners. For sinners to label other people sinners is counter productive to our mission. We need to stop pointing fingers and show compassion and love to all humans. How can we fulfill the word of Christ otherwise?
Well said:) I totally agree.

Their sexual orientation is not considered “intrinsically disordered” in the Catholic church.

.
Uh, you may consider consulting reference material before posting? in this case that would be the Catechism of the Catholic church.

You don’t have to agree, no need to be nasty.
Agreeing to it would be at worst slander, at best gossip. It’s a notoriously unreliable site for objective Catholic news, the mirror image of the National Catholic Reporter. Heck even NCR was more objective when John Allen still worked for them, or at least his column was. He’s since moved on to the Boston Globe.

Your source is a heavily editorialized version of it by an agenda-driven blog. “Our conclusion” was not La Stampa’s but Rorate-Caeli’s.
The point is not what the blog said, the point is what Erdo said.

Jeez people, calm down. You don’t have to agree with the (shivers) evil rorate caeli traditionalists. I just posted a quote I found interesting.

Cardinal Burke:
Other bishops and cardinals are concerned with a lack of clarity in the document. In an interview with CNA, Cardinal Burke said the relatio as it stands uses “confused” and “even erroneous” language, and he hopes the final document from this synod is much clearer.
“There’s a confusion with the regard to the question of people who are living in de-facto unions, or people who are attracted to the same sex are living together, and an inadequate explanation of the relationship of the church to the person,” he said.
“I certainly hope that this document will be set aside completely, and there will be an effort made to present the church’s true teaching and pastoral practice, the two of which always go together in a new document.”

It really sounds like you’re on the verge of calling the bishops false prophets. Please don’t. If for no other reason than your standing with CAF. I’d hope, though, that you’d also see other more valid reasons to abstain from this kind of thinking.
Seems like PTL is being evasive:shrug: have faith…that is all:thumbsup:

“tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered” a quote from the Catechism.I Your post states the opposite…really, do I need to quote you too;) go back and have a look at your post.Do you have access to the Catechism? I have one right in front of me. I am not disagreeing with the link you have posted however it does seem you are not familiar with the source the link is commenting on?.I do not understand how you can post something that is not correct. It seems you responded to a rather harsh criticism of homosexuality, hence the post about homosexuality NOT being intrinsically disordered?Maybe read the entire text 'offenses against chastity"(2351) it refers not only to homosexuality.

Yeah…we need a little clarity here because this document is very vague. Homosexuals should be loved as Christ commands us to love all sinners. HOWEVER, there is a difference between toleration and acceptance. The Church should be more open to homosexuals, yes, because Christ wined and dined with sinners. But Jesus also said for those sinners to go and sin no more. Are we going to accept active homosexuals into full communion despite their sins or are the bishops simply commanding us to be more tolerant and loving toward them?

It really sounds like you’re on the verge of calling the bishops false prophets. Please don’t.
I have not called anyone false prophet unless** you think** the bishops are not telling the truth of God and qualify the definition of false prophet.

In Luke 15, the complaint is raised against Jesus: “This man welcomes sinners and eats with them.” Jesus responds to this accusation with three of the most beautiful parables in scripture: the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the prodigal son. The 99 sheep are left in the desert in order to find the one. The lamp is lit and the house is swept to find the lost coin. The father runs to the prodigal son and embraces him BEFORE THE SON CONFESSES HIS SIN.

The obviousness of “public” sins like homosexual unions and divorces only makes them more closely aligned to the “obvious” problems in these three parables. The attitude of this synod’s report is 100% in agreement with the Lord’s instructions in Luke 15 and I hope the final report continues that trend.
