What’s ironic about the left’s schoolgirl crush on Islam is that radical Islamists vehemently abhor the left’s favorite causes and will happily slaughter every last leftist, given the opportunity.
In words of Tucker Carlson on the Left allying with Radical Islam, “they’re so ideological that they subvert their own interests”

Also loved when Thomist Peter Kreeft was asked about this paradox , specifically how Radical Islam and Gay Rights Movement are seemingly unstoppable and yet diametrically opposed and responded “They are the only two groups in Western Civilization willing to die for their beliefs. Maybe World War 3 will be fought between those two”

Well, it’s foregone who would win such a war.

It’s patently obvious Christophobia.
(And I’ll use that term henceforth to describe those who attack or otherwise oppose Christian people and Christian values).

You’re repeating a lie. Trump condemned the white supremacists in Charlottesville and that’s a fact. Educate yourself.

Only AFTER a barrage of criticism, including from Republicans, over his “very fine people, on both sides” remark.

They were doing a specific thing, worshipping. Saying Christians defacto includes people who weren’t even there.

I think using the word worshippers elevates those targeted. It also works better with “visitors” used to describe victims of the attacks on hotels who would belong to various traditions. “Worshippers and visitors” works better than “Christians and visitors.”

“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

He said that in the same press conference, not after a barrage of criticism. It’s simply a lie to say that he ever called the white supremacists fine people. Not everyone there was a white supremacist, though to a progressive anyone with a conservative bent is a racist.

“Excuse me, they didn’t put themselves down as neo-Nazis, and you had some very bad people in that group. But you also had people that were very fine people on both sides. You had people in that group – excuse me, excuse me, I saw the same pictures you did. You had people in that group that were there to protest the taking down of, to them, a very, very important statue and the renaming of a park from Robert E. Lee to another name.”

After another question at that press conference, Trump became even more explicit:

“I’m not talking about the neo-Nazis and white nationalists because they should be condemned totally.”

Here’s the full quote to provide the proper context. Like most things Trump, it was clumsy and inarticulate, but he was never calling the white supremacists “fine people”, and that lie was run with by the media, and still is today.

Anyway, the point has been made. During a week when we should all be joyful “Easter worshippers” we’re facing egregious tragedy and then pathetic politicizing. The devil is working hard this week to distract us from the final victory.

Unless you are at Mass right now you aren’t an “Easter worshipper.”

It’s infuriating how mainstream media works:
When they joyfully announce that another priest abused a child, they use the word ‘Catholic’ to weariness, but when innocent Catholic are slaughtered they can’t even call them Christians.
Never heard these folk saying the word Christianophobia, but when they speak about others…

I don’t know if anyone feels this way but I actually like being called an ‘Easter worshiper’. Our Arch constantly refers to us as ‘Easter people’ when he talks of Christians and it has a nice sound to it if nothing else. Anyway even if it was actually meant as a slur, I take it. A bit like how they nailed Jesus to the Cross with the title “King of the Jews”. It’s spot on.

There is genuine Christophobia occurring in the world. Focusing on something like the phrase “Easter worshipers” as an example of it seems like a slap in the face of those around the world whose lives are threatened because of their adherence to the faith.

It’s not going to change so there’s no point in getting upset about it. Everyone, even secularists if they are being honest, admits that most of the news media, entertainment industry and academia are secularly oriented. Not only that but there is a lot of anti-Christian and anti-Catholic sentiment while other religions are rarely shown in a negative light. It’s understandable to be upset about it but ultimately useless because it’s not about to change anytime soon. Try to block out all the noise and live your faith.

Start a different thread about that subject then. This was obviously a narrative that was coordinated by prominent people on the left to downplay the identity of the victims. This thread provides a bevy of evidence to support this. The rest of the thread is you and a few others tut-tutting at everyone else about what we should or shouldn’t be discussing. It’s a discussion board and this is a relevant topic.
Here for less than two months and already happy to tell others what should and shouldn’t be included in a thread…

Oh, and scroll up. There’s actually an article about my point that’s linked much, much earlier in this thread.
