Things are finally getting rolling. Father held a workshop this past Sunday, using the “Understanding the Revised Mass Texts” booklet by Fr. Paul Turner as the basis.
Though the audience was primarily comprised of people with liturgical duties, I noticed a number of other interested persons were present also.
We ran through the reworked “Mass of Creation” (“Massive Cremation”

). If nothing else we got to sing the new words. One positive note, though, is that the Sanctus in this reworked version uses the corrected punctuation from the new translation.
In case some have not noticed, the new translation removed the comma after the word “Lord” following the 3rd “holy.” So, instead of Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of…" we now have “Holy,Holy,Holy Lord God of hosts.” Biblically, the word Lord in this context belongs with “God” rather than “Holy.” The revised MoC now has reflected this in the longer holding of the 3rd Holy and then starting the next phrase with “Lord.”
We have not, however, used them at mass at our home parish.
Being out of town, though, we got to sing new versions of the Gloria on consecutive Sundays.
First, in Duluth, MN we sang what I believe is the version from the Missal. Very easy to sing, limited range, but dignified.
Second, in LaCrosse, WI we sang another version which I can’t identify but was a little too much like the Haugen/Haas stuff we’ve had to suffer through for years.
