and just a reminder… the majority of people did not go out and vote for the democrats because of their pro-abortion stance, but because they are sick of this stupid war.

but i wont hold my breath for too long, the democrats have proven in the past to be just as pro-war if not more so than the republicans at times. just look at world war 1, world war 2, korea, and vietnam
Which is why I am getting fed up with the 2 party system.

So you assert.
The Reps don’t push legislation promoting perversion and baby killing. The Dems DO.
Big difference.

As for Nancy Pelosi - somebody please shut her up!
Do you believe in democracy? 😦

This is the way it works. People you may not like just may get elected.

Strong parties with good politicians learn to work together, compromise, and make deals.

They had democratic elections in Palestine, Hamas won. That’s right, a majority chose Hamas and now people have to work with them. Yesterday Ortega won in Nicaruaga. Now people will have to work with him. There are many more examples.

So, like it or not, Nancy Pelosi is making history as the first woman house majority leader. She will have to compromise and make deals with the republicans. She will have to speak fairly often. You don’t have to listen.👍

Don’t worry…pretty soon you won’t have Christmas music…you won’t even be able to mention Christmas. You will only be able to celebrate Ramadon or Quaanza.
In some areas it is not allowed. It starts with something as simple as no being allowed to say “Merry Christmas” or “God Bless You” This is why we must more then ever stand up for our beliefs.
If we don’t act now more unborn children will be killed, disabled or elderly will be euthenized(sp?), stem cell research on embryos, and cloning will become common.
Although thankfully many States voted for 1 man and 1 woman, I have a funny, sick feeling now Gay Marriage will be challanged.
Also I am afraid for our safety and security, for 9/11 could happen again. I know a lot of people will disagree with me, but Bill Clinton is one of the main reasons 9/11 happened in the first place. He took NO real effective action when they attacked our embasy(sp?) and the USS Cole.:hmmm: He took no real action for the first WTC attack also.

when rational explanations have run out, just go back on the “blame-the-former-president-from-last-century” 😃

What do you mean what does the House do? They propose legoislation like the Freedom of Choice Act which would make all and any minimal limitations on abortions such as the parental notitification or demonstrations at abortion mills null. Also, look for you taxes going to forcably abort Chinese women. Also funding of all Nazi experiments on the littlest Americans, embryo babies. Pelosi can wreak a lot of havoc.
Bush would veto such legilsation.

Yep. The next couple of years will be interesting…a two-year-long election season at all levels. Dems now have control of the House and possibly the Senate, but they probably won’t get much accomplished. Everyone will be pointing fingers at the other side blaming them for inaction. IOW…more of the same, just different leadership.

I think they’ll get some things done, but nothing really major. If Bush wants to get anything done, he has to compromise and actually deal with people who aren’t going to be a rubber stamp. If he can step up to the plate, things CAN get done. For example (and it’s just an example), we may see a comprehensive border security and immigration reform bill actually pass. The rules changes that are upcoming in the House will also, IMO, be a good thing.

Huh??? The Republicans lowered taxes, made the country safer (no attacks in this country since 9/11,) just got the boarders secured to the objection of the Democrats, and we got 2 justices in the Supreme Court that will most likely vote to overturn Roe V Wade. As for Iraq…what’s the Democrats plan? Cut and run? More troops? The draft? I haven’t heard anything coherent from the Dems on this. So your argument doesn’t hold water. It’s just more proof the American public is STOOOPID.
If you read any of my posts you will know that I am a Republican. I don’t remember any tax cuts in the last few years, but I could be wrong. If the Reps lowed taxes why didn’t they hammer that home? The borders are secure? What are you smoking? I will believe Roe v Wade getting overturned when it happens, as of todate nothing has been done to slow abortion. The Dems don’t need a plan for Iraq, they just need to point out that Bush’s plan is not working. As much as I want us to succeed in Iraq and as much as I believe Bush did the right thing by overthrowing Sadam I don’t see a plan to get out. Personally I think the Iraqis should have been given a date to have their country secured and if they didn’t we would take over and appoint a military governor who would run the country for them under strict martial law. Now the only solution I see is to devide the country into Kurdistan, Sunnistan and Shi’itestan. But since I am not president, I get to spend my time thinking about more important things, like will Mario, Joey or Emmitt win Dancing with the stars.😃

Perhaps. Bush’s position on immigration reform is a compromise position - he had opposition from both parties. Some Republicans think it’s amnesty, some Democrats think it’s too tough on immigrants. It will be interesting to look at the changes in people (i.e. did we lose immigration hardliners and/or pick up open border extremists?).

It will indeed be interesting to see how Bush acts. Will he take up the veto pen, as a lot of Republicans expect or will the uniter originally promised resurface? It’s his last two years…no reelection.

Certainly, I don’t expect to see much bending on the completion of the goals in Iraq. Cut-and-run won’t be on the table.

With all due respect, Bush did not have a rubber stamp in the Congress. That is why nothing got done. The GOP could not agree on what it wanted to do. Border security is going to be an interesting thing to watch. It seems to me that the majority of the people in the country want the borders secure before anything else is done. And I am not sure that granting amnesty for illegal aliens is the way to go. We tried that under Reagan and look what we got. Oh, the next two years are going to be interesting.

Not all Republicans is pro-life! Look at Sen. Specter, he is pro-choice. After he won the election back in 2004, he told Bush to make sure that he doesn’t pick any judge that would likely to overturn Roe & Wade.
My memory is that Spector promised to allow any presidential nominee to come to a vote of the committee. He did not guarantee that he would vote for the nominee. I could have faulty memory though.

New York made up of 41% Catholics voted Pro-Death. We should be ashamed.
Sadly, many are not. And they delude themselves in thinking that their reasoning is superior to that of the Church. Sad, very sad.

Kansas has re-elected its pro-abortion Catholic governor by a wide margin; and rejected its pro-life attorney general in favor of his pro-abortion Catholic opponent, again by a large margin. Kansas seems always to protect its abortion industry.
It’s cuz we’re now known as the “abortion capital”, instead of the “air capital”, these days. 😦
