I think we should ban celebreties talking about anything other than what they actually got famous for.

I can’t say that I am surprised. After awhile, you start to expect people to say such stupid and foolish things.
If it were up to him he’d ban “organized religion?” I guess I’m glad it’s not up to him.

Of course he’s entitled to his opinion - however insignifcant it might be. But the Church that Jesus Christ established has been here for a couple thousand years prior to Sir Elton & it will be here long after he’s returned to dust.

Well, possibly in his own experiences, he HAS felt hatred and spite from religious folks. I don’t think it’s fair to discount his experiences. He probably has faced discrimination, prejudice, mean words, and possibly violence because of his sexual orientation, or has seen people he loves face such trials. Right or wrong, in whether or not all religious people hurt and hate homosexuals, it may ahve been what he has seen and felt, and I have no problem with him talking about it publicly.

What does being a fat Sodomite encourage?
Sappy love songs for animated movies? 😃
Elton is thirty years past his prime and just lookin for attention.

I hear what your saying… and I agree - violence, discrimination, mean words - whatever… in the name of religion is always wrong and I’m sure homosexuals have experienced these things.

But actually, what’s caused them so much MORE pain, suffering & even death is the culture that tells them that there is nothing at wrong with homosexual sex… that casual sex with whomever they want, whenever they want it is perfectly fine. Elton John is part of that culture spreading that message so if he’s interested in who’s responsible for causing PAIN & SUFFERING to homosexuals, he should look in the mirror.

I am glad I have never been a fan of Elton John. Just shows how perversion can degenerate into hate.

Maybe someone with the gift of the gab should write an article called “Elton John encourages hatred of Religion”.

Wonder what he would think of that?

Dear Mr. John,
If it were up to me i’d ban remaking memorial songs from old songs you’ve already published. (yellow brick road/goodbye english rose). it’s called creativity, Borders has a whole section on it.
(always irked me that all he could come up with to honor princess Diana was a rehashed hit he had years ago. is that how much you thought of her elton, couldn’t even come up with something original for the lady??)
And mr john, i’d also ban bad fashion, gaudy design and overdone “look at me” lifestyles. Play your music and cash your check. no one is interested in your personal opinions.

Thank you,
Chris

The only thing that makes me angry are homosexuals that say things like that. I wish I could move to an island away from these weirdos.

See, I just see so much anger and hate in this thread because of his views. His views were not full of hate for religious folks (that I could see), but rather, just a commentary of what he sees and feels…like hate toward himself, and those like him. He did not resort to namecallling and the like to get his point across. I think this thread proved his point about religious hatred toward homosexuals…Look at us, Christians, and how we respond:

–“I think we should ban celebreties talking about anything other than what they actually got famous for.”

–“What does being a fat Sodomite encourage?”

–"Sappy love songs for animated movies? "

–“Elton is thirty years past his prime and just lookin for attention.”

–“Well sorry Elton that we can’t spin it to suit your disgusting lifestyle, sex-act, actually I’m not sorry.”

–"And mr john, i’d also ban bad fashion, gaudy design and overdone “look at me” lifestyles. "

–“The only thing that makes me angry are homosexuals that say things like that. I wish I could move to an island away from these weirdos.”

–“I am glad I have never been a fan of Elton John. Just shows how perversion can degenerate into hate.”

Talk about hate!!

Actually Elton himself summed up his own lifestyle when he penned the words:

“Its sad, so sad
its a sad sad situation
and it getting more and more absurd!”

Most of the wars of the 20th century, which was the bloodiest century of all, had nothing to do with religion. Stalin, Pol Pot, Hitler, did not fight for religion. And the beloved Enlightenment spawned the bloody Reign of Terror in France, which was mostly anit-religious. Are massacres occuring in Darfur over religion?

If you don’t think that those remarks aren’t about hate of Christians, I would beg to differ. And this is from a HUGE fan of Elton, have been to many of his concerts and bought a lot of his music. I knew it would only be a matter of time before he opened his mouth like all the other musicians that I am a fan of…i.e. Bruce Springsteen. But just like Bruce I will no longer attend his concerts or buy his music. It is insignificant in his life and career I’m sure but I can only hope that those that are offended by his remarks also hit him in the pocketbook.
