Well, if demographics have their way, his country will be overrun with Muslims in a generation or so. Then let’s see how tolerant they are of homosexuals. Instead of the completely impossible banning of religion, he should support one that will only tell him its is wrong as opposed to one that will tell him its wrong and do all sorts of nasty things to him and his fellow anal violators for doing it.

Elton is reaching an age where he is coming face-to-face with his own mortality. This can be quite frightening for one who has no God in his life. And when he goes to search for God he finds that God disapproves of the way he lives his life. Rather than accept he must change the way he lives his life he lashes out in anger. I garuantee you that in a matter of almost 50 yrs or less, 80% of the European continent will be Muslim and Christianity will be a tiny minority. The Pope is going to suffer much in this century.

I get fired up because the media doesn’t do anything to counteract or “give a voice” to the opposition. This is not surprising at all mind you. These stars, like Rosie and Elton, just to name a few, know they have an audience and they pretend to speak for the majority.

I’m also fired up because as a fan of Elton who has supported him for a long time, regardless of his homosexuality, has now just told me that he thinks my religion should be banned. He has lost one fan who will never buy his music again - now I may listen to what cd’s I already have because I think he is a wonderful singer and musician but he’s not getting another penny from me.

Elton John is an anomoly. A person that is gifted with the ability of making a thought or story into music. The ability to convey emotion into a score of musical notes that when replayed evokes laughter, tears, or somberness. This is a gift…

WOW, what unchristian, bigoted things to say!!! If you represent organised religion, then Elton John has a point!!

There is more to a gay person than anal sex if that’s what’s disgusting you, Eireann and there are married straight couples who do that. But by the way, since you’re so focused on what goes on in other people’s bedrooms, don’t worry, that doesn’t appeal to me either, but maybe you should think what goes on in people’s hearts (including yours) rather than just their bedrooms.

Carol marie, Elton John doesn’t have casual sex, he is married. So apparently, he isn’t causing random “pain , suffering and even death” as you say.

Lots of “gay bashing” sadly is carried out by people who claim to be Christian as this thread proves. Maybe we should rethink who exactly are the ones who should be censored….

I want to apologise for my last message, I didn’t mean to insult anyone and I certianly don’t think people’s responses should be censored.

I just felt very angry and disappointed when I read the other messages that instead of people showing Elton John that he’s wrong about organised religion by saying, “Look, Elton, we represent organised religion and we’re not saying cruel, homophobic things,” many people did the opposite!!!

Surely christianity is supposed to be about forgiveness, healing and trying to treat people with understanding and humility whoever they are.

I can’t imagine Jesus slinging insults at sinners so even if you disagree with homosexuality, isn’t there a better and kinder way to react to it?

Also, don’t you think that Elton John has a point if in his experience, religious people have proven to be homophobic? I think this is something we need to address, something that we need to change.

You don’t have to accept homosexuality as a good thing but I think we do have to accept that it exists and Christians are not supposed to judge or persecute anyone. The bible says it’s wrong but maybe this is a little test from God to see just how Christian we really are. If you get to the pearly gates and the first question is, “Have you spent your life trying to treat everyone with understanding and kindness (EVEN homosexuals!)?”

I do believe in treating homosexuals with kindness, but I cannot condone their lifestyle. I would encourage them to live chaste lives, and so-called “gay marriage” is NOT chastity. I cannot, in good conscience, condone the sinful homosexual lifestyle.
