Glad to see Miller’s “A Canticle for Leibowitz” on the list. A really excellent novel. In fact, it prompted me to pick it up again…for about my 6th reading 🙂
 
My favorite scene is where the brother is in the courtyard of the monastery, trying to decide what to do: stay here with all the other priests and brothers, or to become the leader of the missionary branch of the order and leave on the colony ship, never to return to earth. He cried out to the heavens, “God, please send me a sign!”

At that moment, he hears something rustling in the bush behind him, and he remembers back when a rattlesnake got in the courtyard. As he sits, the sound comes closer, and he asks himself, “Would a sign from God … slither?”

Then something touched his hand.

He jumped up with a shout and threw a stone at the sound. Nothing. He tossed another stone there, and again nothing. He looked up at the heavens and said, “You knew I would throw a stone at it, didn’t You?”

Since reading that back in the early 70’s I’ve had many times when I’ve had to tell myself not to throw stones at the signs I’ve asked for.
 

I am wondering isn’t this what’s coming:
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. [1 Thessalonians 5:3-4]

Very interesting story, but it did not make sense to me that the future Messah did not have the rabbis to deliver the messages about the grave matter of the pandemic.
 
I always wondered how the antichrist would fool everyone but I am convinced now that people are and can be lulled to sleep - who ever would of though the USA would have a populist Government its hardly conservative can’t even recognize the conservative party in the USA anymore - populist I say because Trump the savior is the only one who can save the people from the corrupt elite in peoples minds - populist. People can no longer discern the truth countries lining up to sign peace accords with Israel and people are oblivious to it. I have never seen times like this. The earth is ripe for the Devil people will believe anything.
 
Is anyone familiar with the term, The Great Reset?
This plan, which includes a new world currency and world control by a network of elites, which seems to have no value of private family freedoms. This network of unknown kings seems to fit right into the Book of Revelation.

I’m sure the followers of this thread are already aware of this, but wanted to highlight it.
At a virtual meeting earlier in June hosted by the World Economic Forum, some of the planet’s most powerful business leaders, government officials and activists announced a proposal to “reset” the global economy. Instead of traditional capitalism, the high-profile group said the world should adopt more socialistic policies, such as wealth taxes, additional regulations and massive Green New Deal-like government programs.

“Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed,” wrote Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, in an article published on WEF’s website. “In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”

I’ve read about the Great Reset. If Trump wins re-election then it MAY still go ahead, just without the US.

It’s kind of hard to keep up on End Times stuff, because we’re in such a turmoil now.
 
Alright. I admit it. It’s my fault. You know things are going to go sideways when one person says, “What’s the worst that can happen?” Especially if they’re wearing a red shirt. Then you KNOW they’re not going to come back after the commercial.

Not 2 days ago I said, “It’s kind of hard to keep up on End Times stuff, because we’re in such a turmoil now.” Now I’ve got at least 4 stories that I want to pass on.

First comes from a blogger named Daniel O’Connor (https://dsdoconnor.com/). He tries to keep up on different apparition sites around the world. He recently posted an entry that pointed out the possibility of the “100 years” of Satan’s reign seen in the vision of Pope Leo XIII did not begin with Fatima (as many proposed), but rather, in November of 2020. Nov. 18, 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of the Soviet Union legalizing abortion. The USSR was the first nation since the Roman Empire to legalize the destruction of the unborn in the womb, essentially the recreation of the Moloch sacrifices described in Scripture.

Is something going to happen on the 18th, 5 days from now as I write this? Yes, BUT … Not necessarily something we’ll recognize as significant. Last year about this time, the seer in Akita Japan was given another apparition asking us to pray and offer reparation for the next 40 days, sounding rather like Jonah’s message to Nineveh. A few days after that 40th day, reports began to bubble up about a new respiratory illness sweeping Wuhan, China.

It may be something big, though, very big. Remember, if true, this day marks the end of the period G_D granted the Evil One to attempt to destroy His Church. This same blogger speculates that the Katechon, the Restrainer that has been keeping the Antichrist in check, is in fact Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI; that the Antichrist has been afraid to appear because Benedict would call him out and identify him. Once Benedict dies, that restrainer would be lifted.

Pray, hope, and don’t worry!
 
There is much happening. Take time regularly throughout the day to pray. Especially pray the rosary daily. I was recently gifted with AirPods. Upon synching with my iPhone…I promptly listened/prayed the rosary with a rosary app….walking outdoors of course. Stay healthy, exercise, fresh air, eat good food…not junk…take care of the body God has given you. Caring for your body is a form of praise and thanksgiving to God.

My search for the latest Covid-19 information per day is relentless. Somehow a search about lungs and respiration landed me on a website about snakes.
Although snakes generally have two lungs…the second long is often very small or even absent. Basically, only one lung is functional. add The days are shorter and nights longer here. With that, snakes are often times boldly out to warm up in the sun. The other day I saw a snake boldly warming itself in the sun. If I had a shovel or something like a shovel…

Recalling Rabbi Yitzhak Kadouri
(1898-2006). His reference to Jesus Christ in his hand-written note that was opened after his death…

Not to be promoting medical advice (which is against forum rules) I will say that when I had Covid back in March I experienced the most rapid improvement after I began adding an extra vitamin D pill to my regimen. My current multivitamin has vitamin D and just needed that extra “oumph”.

Apparently vitamin D deficiency is one of those things that leads to medical problems that don’t seem to have any cause. Next time you go to your doctor, see if he can test to see if your vitamin D levels are good, or if he/she would see any problems if you added some more vitamin D to whatever other pills you might be taking. It may become more of a problem in the coming months – you’re not going to be spending hours outside in the sun during winter. And with the growth of high-SPF sunscreen use, the sunscreen also cuts down on your body’d vitamin D production, so you may be low on D without knowing it.

What I found most interesting, though, is a video he posted that’s linked in the article, called “A bump in Trump’s road to victory”. In it he explains that the problems Trump is experiencing now are part of G_D’s plan to allow those who oppose Him to build themselves up, only to have their pride bring them down at the last moment. Worth a look.
 
Glad that you’ ve recovered now ! Yes, at the start of the Covid saga I restarted taking Vit C, D3 and Zinc. The spirit is willing but the system does not tolerate too strong doses. I had a scare during the week with bad coughing, but seem to be on the mend. Have you considered restarting the Preppers thread. ? It used to be very useful and very informative .
 
Along those lines, I’d also like to know exactly how to “gird one’s loins.” The pictures in my head are not pretty 🙂
