The Sabbath is still Saturday. The Catholic Church changed Saturday? Is Saturday now March? I still have Saturday’s on my callendars…but, then again, I got my callendars from various Catholic Church’s so, of course, they WOULD still have Saturday on there…

I’M ON TO YOU, CATHOLIC CHURCH!!! I SEE WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!! CHANGING SATURDAYS INTO…SOMETHING!!! HEY! WHY DON’T YOU DO US ALL A FAVOUR, SINCE YOU CHANGED SATURDAYS, CAN YOU CHANGE MONDAY’S TOO? IN FACT, LET’S BRING BACK SATURDAY AND PUT IT WHERE MONDAY USED TO BE. ~Thank you.
😃

Request for future threads: Would the original poster in a thread please use a subject line that actually describes, in some way, the topic of the thread? 🙂
Did I not do that.

I said 'everyone…

In the thread I wanted “EVERYONE” to read a document. I guess I will repost this one and name it

I have a document that I would like for everyone to read.

If your patience is running short with me, then for your own sake you should stop directing your post toward me and ignore me for a while. I don’t remember saying, “hey benidict, this one is for you.” Until you regain your patience for me, when you see Truth Seeker123, you should avoid me. That’s just my opinion

I think it is funny though. I post scripture, you post it back to me (sometimes), and when I post scripture back saying that you are wrong, you get mad because obviously we both have scripture to support our claim but many times your claims make the Bible contradict itself.

Then, many more of you come in and expect me to respond to you all, when most of the time you aren’t even saying anything relevant to the topic. Like this one:D

Questioning my denomination, my intelligence and so on. I start threads talking about the Bible and keeping it off of a personal level and they all end up worthless and off topic so I leave.

Even one of your catholic members called you all “know-it-alls” who only wanted to flaunt your knowledge and take up thread space from those who actually want to talk about the topic at hand. Don’t even think about asking me who. That’s just something else you will find to pick at.

Because like my denomination, I won’t tell you.
actually, you opened the door to a look at the law. and no im not running out of patience with you. and yes i could swap scriptures with you all day long. im a former fundamentalist myself. and if i come across as a know it all, ill be the first to tell you im not. im asking very basic questions based on your statements. you claim we are under the entire law. im asking if you follow the precepts of the law and have an understanding of it. apparently you do not. i also am ignoring your quote from revelation subtley stating that the Roman Catholic Church is the whore. i will cease my conversation with you, because you have no answers to any of our questions. and also you seem to be the one getting uptight. if you want to p.m. me i would be happy to continue on with me. but please have some facts on hand instead of some half baked idealogy, that has no roots in history, or scripture. peace be to you.

Its okay for me to pm you?

If you KNOW that I am lacking in knowledge, why can’t you say "its obvious that TS doesn’t know anything, let me enlighten this person.’

Many of you have posted links and whether you believe me or not I SAVE THEM AND READ THEM.

I even stated that and was basically called a liar. Because I said “I read them” instead of Im reading them.

I’m not uptight, I’m just acting toward you all the way you act toward me.

Also, I see that ALL of you who read my threads are not mentioning the fact that you have left many of my questions unanswered/unexplained or you’ve just outright torn the scriptures into peices because they conflicte with your beliefs.

That may be your opinion, but the fact is, you invited “everyone” including Benedict. It’s too bad you just don’t like what he’s saying. But let me enlighten you: when you post something on a forum, you’re going to get varied responses from varied people because you actually invite all the members of the forum to respond to your post. If that troubles you, maybe you should try PMing people instead of posting on a forum. Who knows who you will have issue with next. **

I think it is funny though. I post scripture, you post it back to me (sometimes), and when I post scripture back saying that you are wrong, you get mad because obviously we both have scripture to support our claim but many times your claims make the Bible contradict itself.

It’s funny because you’ve been doing that to Benedict, others and me ever since you’ve been posting these threads. Let me give you my version: You post something vague, make us ask you to clarify, then when we back up our beliefs with scripture, you get all upset and tell us that our Church, who did all the translations and interpretations to begin with, is wrong, and YOUR interpretation is right. Then we explain to you the translations, back it up with more verses, and you abandon the thread only to start another one with the same pattern.

Questioning my denomination, my intelligence and so on. I start threads talking about the Bible and keeping it off of a personal level and they all end up worthless and off topic so I leave.

Correction: you start threads talking about what you think the Bible says, sometimes - other times you post what the Bible says, ask us what we think of it, and then beat it like a dead horse because you don’t agree with us - after you’ve asked us what we think of your sample verse. You leave because you have no further defense…and you can only beat a dead horse so long, right?

Even one of your catholic members called you all “know-it-alls” who only wanted to flaunt your knowledge and take up thread space from those who actually want to talk about the topic at hand. Don’t even think about asking me who. That’s just something else you will find to pick at. Because like my denomination, I won’t tell you.

I’d say that I would have to pick at too, but unfortunately, you are the one who keeps picking at things (scripture, posts, etc.). It’s probably not worth his time to go combing through posts. If he didn’t see it (btw, I didnt see it) it probably doesn’t matter. And as for not telling him, that’s probably best anyway. Who cares? Hey, maybe you’re the only one who saw that post anyway 🤷

AND if I choose not to answer any of you then who are you to question that? Just like you came into to a thread, you can ignore it.

Its okay for me to pm you?

If you KNOW that I am lacking in knowledge, why can’t you say "its obvious that TS doesn’t know anything, let me enlighten this person.’.
Ok, this is one of the things that is so frustrating because MANY people have said the above. Yet, when they try and explain things to you, you either ignore them, or twist what they say, or post other non-related verses, or just flat out say that your interpretation is “better”. By what authority, I have no clue.

Let me try and see what comes of it:

Rence says: **It’s obvious that TS doesn’t understand something. Let me enlight him:

TS, do you realize that the Church that Christ established was called the “Catholic Church” in the original Greek text? It’s in Acts 9:31

Since I’m sure you don’t have a copy of it at your disposal, here’s a copy of the original Greek text: scripture4all.org/OnlineInterlinear/NTpdf/act9.pdf

So…if Christ established the Catholic Church, trained Peter and the Apostles, who trained the Bishops and the succeeding Bishops and so on, why do you still reject the teachings of the Catholic Church? I mean, you say you go by the Bible and it’s right there in the Bible. So why aren’t you following it? Don’t you think it would be prudent for you to investiage this?

So again then, the Apostles received direct instructions from Christ Himself, who instructed them to preach everything he taught. No other church can claim that. Then the Apostles spread His teachings, as promised by the help and protection of the Holy Spirit. Part of that promise was the fact that even though individuals may may mistakes, the Church cannot. The Apostles then appointed pastors to govern different regions. The Catholic Church is the only Church whose pasters were direct successors to the Pope and prove it by pointing to Matt 18:18-20 which reads:

18 And Jesus coming, spoke to them, saying: All power is given to me in heaven and in earth. 19 Going therefore, teach ye all nations; baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and behold I am with you all days, even to the consummation of the world.

Again, we look to the scriptures for proof that though individuals can become corrupt, the CC cannot. It was afforded that Grace uniquely in Matt 16:18,19 and 1 Tim 3:15

Matt 16:1819: 18 And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. and

1 Tim 3:15
15 But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

The Catholic Church teaches us the traditions, both oral and written, given by Christ and passed down from Peter and the apostles to their appointed Bishops in an unbroken chain. Who can possibly be more qualified to teach us what the Scriptures mean?

Don’t you think this information is worth investigating?

You made an assertion. Back it up.

Forum rules don’t ya know.

It’s not a dispute on my behalf. I just want everyone to read it.
And here’s something you should read; I have given you the link to the following document several times. amazon.com/Catechism-Catholic-Church-U-S/dp/0385479670
It is clear that you have not gotten it nor read it by your misunderstandings of Catholic Teachings. I’ll make you a deal, you get my document and read it, let me know what you think, and then, if I’l convinced that you actually got it and read it, then I’ll have a look at yours. How 'bout that?

All of your questions about the Sabbath vs Sunday are answered here: catholic.com/library/Sabbath_or_Sunday.asp.
Why don’t stop slinging links and start actually engaging in conversation and answering the questions and challenges for proof others and I have asked. I’m pretty much at the end of my tolerance for your particular brand of one sided contention and polemics

If you KNOW that I am lacking in knowledge, why can’t you say "its obvious that TS doesn’t know anything, let me enlighten this person.’
OK, then, let me enlighten you: Read this document: amazon.com/Catechism-Catholic-Church-U-S/dp/0385479670

I don’t know if any of you have read this document, but I think it is something everyone should see. No matter what denomination you are. Please read the entire document before assuming anything about anyone or this thread.

This has to do with Protestants, SDA protestants and Catholics.

So again, please take the time to read it before jumping to any conclusions.

aloha.net/~mikesch/chalng.htm

I know some of you will give me feedback whether I ask or not…lol

But please read the document.
This article just proves that you shouldn’t believe everything that you read on the internet.

this thread and others like it, show just how far we really are from Christian unity with some of our seperated bretheren. SOME, not all. hopefully as the years progress we can make some sort of progress…( i love the english language:D) but it is doubtful. but with what is happening between the Catholics, the Orthodox, and the anglicans, there is hope. also there have been great strides with the lutherans to heal the rifts between us. guess we will have to be content with these things for the time being. God bless everyone here.🙂

This doesn’t describe the topic of the post. Please use subject lines that describe, to some extent, what the thread is about, not merely who you would like to read it.

Exactly, The “Catholic Mirror” only seems to exist on anti-Catholic websites (unless you count the current diocisan newspaper of DeMoines, Iowa :D). Depending on which website you look at, Cardinal Gibbons wrote the referenced editorial in 1883, 1917 or 1983. He lived quite a long time it seems.

My favorite part was:
The Catholic Mirror was the official organ of Cardinal Gibbons and the Papacy in the United States.
As if the “papacy”, meaning, I suppose the Vatican, used newspaper editorials for its official communication. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

That the Sabbath was changed by the cc, but God’s Law still stand and we are still under the Law (the entire Law)
You realize those were ‘editorials’?

I’m surprised you wanted to bring that to light for two reasons. First, you can’t only take a part of that as truth and ignore others parts of truth. In other words, the author dated the Catholic Church back to be the one Christ built. Second, I realize we have interpretational differences with scriptures and you’ll probably want to attribute my thoughts to interpretational differences on these editorials. The author was questioning why ‘Bible only’ Protestants would follow a tradition of the Catholic Church, when the Bible clearly gives no other time for the Sabbath except for Saturday.

Now, you’re right! The Catholic Church did change the day of worship to Sunday! For whatever reason is not important, being the Catholic Church had the power to 'bind and loose on earth with a promise it would be bound and loosed in heaven.

Lastly, the cat and mouse game you’re playing over your ‘mysterious’ denomination takes away any real validity in your arguments. It’s quite clear what your ‘agenda’ is on these forums, and that is to ‘bash’ the Catholic Church.

Sorry for the delayed response. I work on an ambulance and we had to respond to a call that required us to transport a patient to a hospital 60 miles away.

I must half disagree. It is very important why we now worship God primarily on Sunday: it is because Jesus rose on a Sunday. Every Sunday is a celebration. We fast on Fridays because God died on a Friday. Most every Friday is a day of mourning.

Answering that second paragraph, and, I don’t know why I’m doing this, but, Heaven forbid he ever get banned; that will just confirm his suspiscions and validate his ego and standings with other Jesus persecuters.
