Mind reading is not your strong suit. Please avoid doing so. As for me, I will continue to post what the Church actually tells us about evolution. Not ‘Oh look. Pope John Paul II accepts evolution!’ No, he mentioned theories of evolution (plural) but that part was discarded. It’s obvious why.
Was the mind reading in relation to the 6,000 years? OK, let’s dance.

How old do you think the planet is, Ed? Give or take. To the nearest billion years would do (or the nearest few thousand if my suspicions are correct).

And let’s be honest. There is nothing to hide here. No shame in honesty. Tell us what you believe.

And you don’t just ‘post what the church says’. You actively deny the evolutionary process.

People who attempt to prove the world is only a few thousand (or was it tens of thousands?) years old and who deny evolution are anti-science.

I am not an Atheist.

Though people are allowed to be atheists if they want.

I see you misrepresenting Catholic teachings on here all the time.

Then Catholic Answers must be anti-science.

The Time Question

“Much less has been defined as to when the universe, life, and man appeared. The Church has infallibly determined that the universe is of finite age—that it has not existed from all eternity—but it has not infallibly defined whether the world was created only a few thousand years ago or whether it was created several billion years ago.”

What exactly is wrong with being pro-science, pro-intellectual, and pro-evolution?

I see all kinds of anti-science posters on here all the time. Catholic Answers Forum is hardly representative of the Catholic Church.

I’m gonna go ahead a guess that you didn’t attend a Jesuit school.

How is being anti-science, anti-intellectual and anti-evolution the same as being pro truth?

You’re literally denying the truth.

Why is it now considered taboo to be smart? It’s like intellectual design conspiracy theorists want to keep everyone in the dark about the truth, while they force their ideology on everyone.

2+2 is still always going to be 4, no matter how much you want it to equal 5.

First, your sentence doesn’t make grammatical sense. Second, no I don’t claim that evolution is a complete explanation, it isn’t a theory of everything, it’s just a theory of evolution.

Wow. You’re embarrased to post what you believe to be the age of the earth?

I wonder if you’re familar with the term ‘having the courage of one’s convictions’. Guess not.

Buffalo is essentially arguing the education is bad and being smart is bad.

And you believe it is…how old?

Buffalo is essentially arguing the education is bad…
He only thinks it’s bad if it teaches anything that contradicts his fundamentalist beliefs. Ask him how old the planet is. Maybe if he answers it will prompt Ed as well.

Is there anything else we can learn about evolution?

I like that the Catholic Church doesn’t have a position on the age of the world. It forces people to use their brains, instead of the Church telling them what to think. It also makes it easier to identify the anti-intellectuals.

From your website? Well, we’ll know more about entropy if we check your front page. Not so much otherwise, no.

Yes, very much so. The theory of evolution isn’t a complete explanation. That doesn’t mean the parts that are understood are wrong.

Isaac Newton didn’t fully understand gravity, but his limited understanding is still very useful for explaining what it does explain.
