so lets not take the words of creationists or phony/pseudo Christian evolutionists seeking to reconcile and compromise.Lets see what the real evolutionists have to say about compromise etc.It seems that real evolutionists have a better grasp as regards what Christianity is and stands for than christian evolutionists do[to be continued] - twinc

Okay.

Here’s how one particular “real evolutionist” – the ultimate “real evolutionist” – says about God in his book, in the last sentence…

“There is grandeur in this view of life [the Theory of Evolution] with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one [referring to the Adam and Eve story]…”

–Darwin, Charles, The Origin of Species, p. 474, 6th Edition.

Theories of evolution do not necessarily contradict the witness of Scripture, as Pope John Paul II clearly noted.

Evolution and the Bible incompatible…
No, rather evolution and a particular interpretation of the Bible may be incompatible. That’s quite a different matter, however.

I have never looked at the Bible as a science book. Well … except when I was a baptist. I am more educated on the Bible now. I know better. Chuck Darwin is getting a bad rap. He did not teach as fact most of that the “creationists” say he did.

so do you think Darwin is reliable and acceptable and Creationists are not ? - twinc

Do you mean to suggest that if the Bible is twisted then a certain interpretation to suit and made to fit can be made and should be made compatible to real[Godless] Evolution. Tell us then how we should set out to do just that - btw let us first see what real evolutionist have to say about what you are suggesting on their behalf and then hopefully you will think again. It seems to me that real Evolutionists want nothing to do with phony/pseudo Christian evolutionists and seemingly neither does God - twinc

contd - some may wish to compromise with real evolutionists, but they do not ! The editor of American Atheist,1988,wrote “when the theory of evolution was advanced, that was the date that the Judeo-Christian relogion began the decline in which it now finds itself in the West. The two theories are point-blank in contradiction one to the other.Any scientists, any educators, any religious persons who state to you that there is no conflict simply want to hang on to both worlds because they have not been able to divest themselves of the infantile belief system which was programmed into them when they were children. They want a foot in each camp.Religion is their emotional security blanket.Science is facing a world of reality which - in the final analysis - they cannot face. They are too cowardly to see religion should be abandoned so they stand there one foot in and one foot out”[Daylight No.23] - more later - twinc

I’m not sure what you mean by “real evolution” (is this as opposed to “fake evolution”…?). I am a real evolutionsist in that I hold organic evolution to be the best scientific explanation for the various life forms on earth. I’m also a real creationsist in that I believe in the Christian doctrine that God is the Creator of all things besides himself.

Regarding the proper interpretation of scripture in the light of science, I would point out, for example, that Christians once nearly unanimously believed that the earth was the center of the universe based upon a particular reading of Psalm 93:1-2:
"…Yea, the world is established; it shall never be moved; thy throne is established from of old; thou art from everlasting."

Thus, Christians asserted, the earth could no more orbit the Sun than could God’s very throne be moved from its place. Sounds reasonable, doesn’t it? And so it seemed, until the facts of science demonstrated that the earth does indeed move, that it certainly does orbit the Sun. Now Christians were faced with a choice. Would they:
  • a) Cling to their long-held interpretation in direct contradiction of known material facts, or
  • b) Modify their personal interpetations to conform to the known facts of the physical universe?
This is the very same decision faced by so-called “biblical creationsists” today.
…real Evolutionists want nothing to do with phony/pseudo Christian evolutionists…
Not sure what this even means. Evolution is evolution. There’s no such thing as “Christian evolution,” any more than there’s such a thing as “Christian gravitation” or “Christian photosynthesis.”

of course you have got it wrong and all mixed up so maybe that is why you seem to be having problems understanding - the Church has always rightly held that the earth has not and does not move and is the centre of the universe and that it is the sun and universe that revolve round the earth…see www.ScriptureCatholic.com and scroll down L/H column to science and see geocentrism and evolution even. Also type Galileo was wrong in your search box and be enlightened. Also try www.Geocentrism.com - also try www.fixedearth.com - twinc

Oh, my. You’ve actually bought into Sungenis’s demonstrative nonsense. Well, this explains much. Take care, now.

So you are saying Atheists know more about what christianity stands for than the Pope? Yeowch…

and then

So you are saying Atheists know more about what christianity stands for than the Pope? Yeowch…
are you saying the Pope is a real[Godless]Evolutionist - lol,lol - with one foot in each camp and too cowardly to see religion should be abandoned so he stands there one foot in and one foot out and also unable to divest himself of the infantile belief system programmed into him as a child - come now be reasonable - twinc

what this explains is that you are not prepared to accept what the Church has always taught and teaches and also that you did not seem to gather this from www.ScriptureCatholic.com - so take care now lest you contend and contest against God and His Church and not against me - btw do as I do as advised by Pope Pius XII in “humani generis”,consult the experts and specialists who have been researching and discussing as per humani generis - go to www.kolbecenter.org - twinc

I didn’t say that, you twisted my words, and mocked me. You say you are catholic, then you say that to believe in theistic evolution shows a lack of knowledge about christianity. The Pope has said that this is not true, and has said that theistic evolution is NOT against scripture. This was the point I was making.

I am, however, washing my hands of this conversation. If you don’t want to discuss this politely without twisting poster’s words and mocking them by the words YOU put in THEIR mouths, then I have no interest in even trying. Good day.

Are you serious?

Not at all. I’m simply not prepared to accept Sungenis’s opinion regarding “what the Church has (supposedly) always taught.” Big difference, there.

As already posted, and to which you’ve yet to reply:
