Maybe the use of ‘disordered’ will be addressed in the course of the synods discussions around the language used in reference to homosexuality? The CCC says that ‘homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered’ and that ‘The inclination is objectively disordered’ … so the Church has been careful not to tar the person per se with the disordered label. As our understanding of the human experience grows, the language and attitudes inevitably grow more reflective of that also. That seems to be the good goal of the synod.Me to Longing Soul…except, my one stumbling block - that I do not believe that LGBTQ individuals are disordered. It’s so frustrating to be referred to as a heretic because of not following Church teachings on one social issue.![]()
