I thought this was a violation of “attorney-client privilege”?

I don’t have extensive knowledge in this area and maybe I am wrong??

Good question now that I think about it.

Personally I feel for the guy. He doesn’t strike me as a criminal but then still waters run deep.

Could some of these guys WANT Trump to fire Mueller just to bring on obstruction of justice charges and a call for impeachment?

But a little humility might do a lot for him…we are all called to be Christ like, and maybe facing his enemies with good grace might be the cross Trump needs to carry.

If this is true, Mueller should be disbarred without further ado. There is no way he had search warrants to get privileged information.

Attorney-client privilege is not something that is 100% ironclad. According to legal experts, investigators can pierce that protection if they believe the attorney has participated in a fraud or crime with a client.

You’re not wrong, raiding an attorney’s office is unusual and requires very serious evidence of wrongdoing as Judge Napolitano says. Privileged information will have been taken in the raids, and now it’s the job of government “privilege teams” to filter out anything subject to the attorney-client privilege. Anything the privilege team determines is privileged information will be returned to Cohen or deleted from government computers. The exception would be anything that falls under the “crime-fraud exception”: anything relating to a client wanting to commit or cover up a crime is not subject to attorney-client privilege. It’s a pretty high bar to clear, the prosecutors will have to prove to a judge that the documents or communications are without a doubt related to criminal activity.

That journalist’s question has been a point of debate today. It’s inappropriate either way, but as far as I know none of the reporters there have come out to say which or the White House press people asked it, so it’s unknown whether he was from a mainstream organization or one of the weird right-wing outlets the Trump administration has given credentials to.

Some interesting things I learned today: Geoffrey Berman, the Trump-appointed U.S. Attorney behind the raids on Cohen, was a maximum donor to Trump’s 2016 campaign. Also, today the RNC scrubbed all mentions of their National Deputy Finance Chair, Michael Cohen, from their website.
 
Unfortunately, when you lay down with dogs, you get up with fleas. Trump has not been associating with the best people.

So if this turns out to be a fishing expedition, are you going to support firing and jailing of Mueller and impeachment of the judge that “approved” this?

(I am not saying you should. I am not even saying I would. I am just wondering where you are at on this.)

Mueller was not involved in these searches, he just passed this on to another prosecutor, so I would not support any negative consequences for him. If there was any corruption involved in this I feel the judge should of course be impeached. I find the possibility of that pretty unlikely though, raiding the offices of any attorney is a huge deal with all kinds of special sign-offs and procedures, and raiding the offices of the personal attorney of the President is extraordinary. While we don’t like it politics does influence the judiciary’s decisions, so I just don’t think a prosecutor would be able to convince a judge to put his or her name on this warrant without pretty compelling evidence of some criminal activity. This move will be subject to more scrutiny than just about anything the justice system can do.

Cohen’s $130k payment which is claimed to be a FEC violation gets an FBI raid.

Obama campaign had FEC violations for 1300 donations totaling close to $1.9 million and gets a fine.

How anybody can say this was anything but the opportunity to go fishing though documents to find something to nail Trump with is beyond me.
 
You mean he (Trump) should be more like Jesus and let the left crucify him for the sins of everyone???
