You do remember the “privilege” team for HRC was her own staff and lawyers??? They were allowed to turn over what they said was not lawyer/client info??? And the FBI let them do that and well, do you want me to refresh memories??? Either this is the right way to do it, or not. Which do you prefer as an American citizen?
 
I think it has more to do with how much collateral you have. I suppose the bank wants to know whether you plan to live there or rent it out but it’s not binding.

Money laundering is sometimes grouped under the umbrella of bank fraud. Given that Cohen is also being investigated for campaign finance violations it’s likely he was trying to disguise the source of the funds he used to pay off Daniels. He could use his HELOC money however he wanted, he just did something illegal with it.

I did NOT post Moore as “a cause and effect”.

I posted Moore as “a barometer” (I keep seeing this goading of Trump to fire Mueller coming up over and over).

The “plausability” I was referring to is, not a conspiracy of liberals, but a reflection of the common way they think.

In this case it appears they think if they can prompt Trump into firing Mueller, they will have a shot at public backing with President Trump’s impeachment.

(If the liberals don’t get public support, they won’t put forth a serious effort at impeachment.)

i wonder if Hillary and the DNC funneling money through a law firm in order to pay Fusion GPS and Christopher Steele to put together the Trump dossier would qualify as bank fraud. why funnel through different places unless you were trying to disguise the source of funds?

The FBI and/or Inspector General (i dont remember which) found classified information on Hillary’s personal nonsecure server, which is a crime. There was no FBI raid on her home or lawyers home and office to secure evidence. the infomation on the server was later wiped clean (no, not with a cloth). Was evidence destroyed? we may never know the full truth in part because there was no FBI raid for this. Strange how there seems to be defferent standards for what is deserving of an FBI raid…🤔

That is one way to do it, whne materials are subpoenaed.
In this case the DoJ was felt, and persuaded a federal judge that the that route would not be satisfactory and that a road was appropriate.

MY BIG QUESTION!!!

Why would Trump pay this woman off? This has been the thought which has always made me doubt what she is saying.

Everyone knew Trump was a womanizer, and he seems to have no trouble saying publish and be damned. An “accusation” of having had a consensual one-night stand just doesn’t seem to have called for this huge response of lawyers, NDAs, substantial payout…

Has this not struck anyone else as weird?
 
Additionally, it seems weird for Cohen to complain about not being paid back if it is true, as he claims, that Trump did not know. This seems to The only way both statements could be true is if he and someone other than Trump had made that decision and the other person was supposed to pay Cohen back.

Might be that Cohen made the decision all by himself. And there was no necessity of having someone in the wings who would “pay him back”. It does happen that lawyers who represent sizeable corporations advance money for clients all the time on their own judgment, but never bill for it in detail. This is bigger scale than most, but it’s not that odd.

Where do you get this idea? The comments that I have seen on this from people who know legal ethics say that it was improper and unethical.

FOX’s Judge Napolitano:
“It would not only be unusual, it would be unethical & unenforceable. Because the lawyer is not permitted ethically to pay out of his own pocket the debts of his clients … More likely that not, that this was some circuitous route by which the President himself was paying for the silence.”
