The idenity of the EDL members has now been revealed by the group anonymous including their criminal history.

It seems that it would be unwise for me to post that link again here, ven though I have had no warning.

I assume that posts which are removed are done so for good reason.

Suffice to say that the criminal records of the EDL members are longer and more heinous than I could have imagined and it goes to show that they are no better than Islamist extremist thugs.

This list is easy to find elsewhere.

Both the EDL and the Fudamentalist Muslims must learn that the British people want neither.

Conversely, racists and anti-Semites such as Farrakhan can pack 'em in by the thousands. And you worry about the point of the pencil and ignore the massive ink blot. It should also be pointed out that when the EDL takes to the street, the organization that most often opposes them, Unite Against Fascism, is nothing more than a front group for the violent Trotskyite Socialist Workers Party en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unite_Against_Fascism. So if the EDL have extremists in there ranks, there opponents often include people who are even more extreme.
 
So there seems to be a little bit of agreement on this thread amongst us British Catholics posting, the agreement being that we donā€™t want a neonazi thug outfit to defend us, nor do we want their bigotry to be seen as representative of what we believe?
Yet some of our non-uk based catholic friends on here seem to see the EDL very differently, either because of Catholics in other countries having different values regarding nazi type ideology wrapped up in a thin veneer of patriotism, OR MORE LIKELY because the EDL are obviously very good at what politicians refer to as ā€œspinā€, and have done a good job of convincing people online that they are something different than that which they are.
Maybe you have to get up close to see the swastika banners and tattoos, and hear the disgusting chants of ā€œsig heilā€. Or maybe the Internet doesnt display this clearly enough. Out of curiosity, how are the EDL and BNP portrayed in the US media? Do you get the whole truth or just a one sided picture?
How would our American catholic friends feel if the English posters started posting in defence of the kkk, and started to imply that you must be a bit naieve if you donā€™t see that theyā€™re only burning ni****s on crosses to protect you from the african-american drug dealers. Then what if we further used the killing of a white cop by a black drug dealer to justify what these guys in the kkk were doing for you? Wouldnā€™t I be out of order? Would I be banned from CAF? Because THAT is what Broomwagon and one or two others of our non British friends are doing here.
(just to be clear, I was making a point about the ridiculousness of people, especially catholics defending EDL, I DO NOT support or condone the kkk or their disgusting actions and attitudes, nor do I think that african-americans are drug dealers any more than any other race)

Seamus, my kid brother is into the whole unite against Facism movement, and while I applaud them for their actions and attitudes in regard to neo nazi outfits like the EDL, I do on the other hand realise that any person of any religious faith has to be concerned about anything that has the words ā€œworkersā€ ā€œsocialistā€ and ā€œpartyā€ in the same name, cos we all know how things turned out in Russia.
 
Well it would be nothing new if those that put American interests first were to encourage extremism in other countries to counter what they perceive as enemies.

Look at the support for extremism in the ME or South America

Moreover, if the Cold War was anything to go by, do you think were Europe to become the main target of Muslim backlash, rather than the USA, do you think they would object?

Yet, we hear people complaining, the first Mosque in England open in 1899, over a hundred years ago.

France has the birka law, countries can be tolerant but that does not mean we should all start living under Shariah law, have halal meats and dress in Middle Eastern garb.

I think what we are witnessing are those who are prejudiced against other peopleā€™s style of life.

Save it, they didnā€™t behead anyone. They have not been caught with bombs and they did not bomb the subway.

But these kinds of incidences are incendiary to others, even the Dutch had a lot of retaliation when Van Gogh was killed and the Dutch are thought to be very passive.
Iā€™m not even sure if one can call EDL right-wing extremists, thatā€™s CNN. That in itself is bigotted. We know many Youths of Britain, YOBs, are against the wars where their troops have been deployed to Afghanistan and earlier Iraq.

We donā€™t know if they are pro-Union and if they come from places like Sunderland and Newcastle, you can bet your bottom dollar they are and that likewise, they are against Fascism.

We really donā€™t know their view on anything other that they are against Islamic extremism, Sharia Law being set up in Merry Olde England, etcā€¦

They are not BNP. They are not the National Front.
 
Actually, applying the same logic as applied to many posts, one should ask critics why they want Sharia Court and Law in England, do they really want birkas, homosexuals to be hung, women to be stoned, halal meats, etc. All the ways of Islam. Because this is what I would see as is being protested. Hardly that people donā€™t want England to be ā€œnon-whiteā€ which is about the most uninformed attitude out there since those from the Indian Subcontinent have been in the UK forever.

Also, present information that EDL is affliliated with SF, an internet forum. So far as I can see, EDL stands only against Islamic Extremism.

As far as the praise goes, if it is from an article in the guardian, etc. I would look at such with a lot of scrutiny, bottom line, Brevik denied any contact with the EDL. The most you can get them for is ā€œthought crime.ā€

EDL is only against Islamic Extremism. You can bend it any way you want, but they are not neo-(deleted). Really, we should assume anyone speaking against them are for Sharia Law, hangings and stonings, birkas, etc.

I have a feeling if I used a word like you did, Islamo - ______, this would not be acceptable in these forums. Therefore, I do believe the use of this kind of name calling should be scrutinized as if it is proper. You really donā€™t have back up.
