In a recent video Father James Martin; who is a highly respected Vatican Advisor and apointee by Pope Francis has stated without rebuke that we as Catholics should reverence gay unions. How exactly should we do that and what is the best way to introduce his catechesis to my children?

Father James Martin DOES have authority. Ask the USCCB.

How exactly should we do that and what is the best way to introduce his catechesis to my children?
You don’t.

Fr. Martin is intentionally (at least, by all appearances) trying to confuse the faithful. My pastor had some strong words to say about him, including that he needs to repent.

Fr. Martin is on the edge of being heretical. Pope Francis doesn’t necessarily agree with his views. He merely wants his insight as many people share this misguided view on human sexuality. Unfortunately Fr. Martin is so eager to find common ground with LGBT that he’s pretty close to abandoning Church teachings. There cannot be homosexual unions, weddings, or sex. End of story.

End of story would suggest and end of dialogue, but dialogue is really what is most important in the Church today as Cardinal Blase Cupich even said that we need to let go of the old stodgy Catholic beliefs as they have to change.

Really?

I’d like to see this video if you have a link for me?

Again, this is an ambassador of the Catholic faith held in highest esteem by Cardinal Cupich and Pope Francis so he has authority so we must listen to him. Ask Bishop McElroy.

No. It is the end of the story. There’s only so far we can bend over to help these people struggling with disordered tendencies. Either they follow the rules and live a chaste life, just like unmarried heterosexuals, or they’re gonna have to go elsewhere. If they want to be Catholic they’re gonna have to obey the Church just like all good Catholics.

Dialogue is only meaningful if both sides listen to each other. The LGBT side has no intention to listen to anything the Church teaches. The Catholic Church has done all it can in this debate. These “stodgy Catholic beliefs are not going to change. The Church is not a democracy that people can stomp their feet and get change. Either take it or leave it. We can be charitable, sensitive, and supportive; however, no Catholic can believe that the homosexual lifestyle is inline with Church teaching.

The LGBT side has no intention to listen to anything the Church teaches.
There’s LGBT folks (Dave Rubin, Blaire White) who are interested in talking. Just don’t confuse every LGBT person with the virtue-signaling bandwagon straights or the GLBT radicals who think they are entitled to everything.

Don’t!

We should respect them as people made in God’s image, we should mourn their sodomidical relationship and pray for them.

If Father James Martin is promoting reverence toward a sodomidical relationship, then he is promoting blatant heresy and we need to pray for our Priests and Bishops especially.

So… You’re saying that the Vatican has no authority and that a parent should simply never discuss homosexuality with their children? That sounds irresponsible.

What exactly is there to talk about? What can change?
There are many false narratives spread by the LGBTQIA activists where dialogue may help, but dialogue can never be at the expense of truth. What the OP describes is not ‘dialogue’ though, it is ‘compromise’ and compromising on the truth is always wrong.

Amen! We can dispel rumors and falsehood but at the end of the day the stance of the Church is the same. No compromise.

I don’t think SuperLuigi was saying that. A parent can discuss homosexuality with their children, but they shouldn’t teach them to reverence sin as the OP describes.
