What is “inconceivable”?
It is a meme. The word "heresy’ is used here incorrectly more often than correctly. For example “associated with heresy” is a meaningless phrase. But know, I have yet to see anythings that is remotely heretical. For example, the below statement:
“I have a hard time imagining how even the most traditionalist, homophobic, closed-minded Catholic cannot look at my friend* and say, ‘That is a loving act, and that is a form of love that I don’t understand but I have to reverence.’”
If one were to read this, but he is speaking of an act, not a relationship or any other sin, but an act, in this case, tending to the seriously ill for years. In fact, it is a corporeal work of mercy. I have seen acts of kindness and love among criminals. This is no surprise.

Sure. But again, the problem with Fr. Martin is that he associates with certain individuals who are dissident themselves and this association leaders give the allusion of scandal.

The issue is that he is not clarifying (I would argue on purpose) his position and is coming across as vague so as not to really take a position. “Teetering the fence” of you will.

Romans 12:18
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

Romans 13:7
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.”

Romans 12:18
“If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”

Ephesians 5:16
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”

Colossians 4:5
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.”

Ephesians 5:17-20
“Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;”

Proverbs 24:21-22
“My son, fear thou the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?”

Proverbs 20:19
“He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.”

Jeremiah 6:14
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”

Only ‘slightly’ have they healed those that needed a Physician.

Jeremiah 7:3
“Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.”

Luke 3:4-9
"As it is written in the book of the words of Esaias the prophet, saying, The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Then said he to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."

Jeremiah 6:14
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”

Only ‘slightly’ have they healed those that needed a Physician.

Luke 4:12
“And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”

Psalm 34:14
“Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.”

Seek Peace… Seek Peace… Pursue Peace… Seek Peace… Pursue Peace…

@whyeyeman, welcome to the thread; I hope you have read it. From the start it was a little tense but for the most part civil. Now @Danayaher has jumped in with some name-calling and calumny. Don’t take the bait and don’t turn the thread into a street fight. Thanks, and God Bless.

I don’t see any calumny… Sodomy is an evil, vile act. It so displeased God that he saw it fit to burn to the ground two entire cities as a punishment for it. In no way can this be tolerated in the church.

Psalm 1:1-4
"Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away."

Jeremiah 6:14
“They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.”

Luke 3:8
“Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.”

Who gives unGodly Counsel?

😂 😂

My friend, the difference between Jesus associating with tax collectors and prostitutes was to change their way of life and welcome them home to a loving relationship with the Father. And most importantly, to change their evil way of life.

Fr. Martin associates with a group (listed below) that has been very vocal and adamant about many heretical and heterodox Catholic issues. He has no intention of changing their evil ways but has actually commended and agreed with them.

List of dissidents Fr. Martin has associated with:
Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J.
Sr. Janine Gramick
New Ways Ministry
Dr. Shawn Copeland
Bp. Thomas Gumbleton
Gregory Baum (laicized priest)

He is a heretic.
He is an evil man.
He’s not my favorite theologian and I have my own issues with the things he has said (or mostly not said), but let’s not resort to name calling. That is against forum rules. We can disagree with his approach. He can disagree with his ideas and point out why we feel they are dangerous and/or misleading. But there is no need to call him evil or a heretic. Let’s leave the judgment of heresy to his religious superiors and the judgment of evilness to God.
