Plus, destroying Yavin could have generated debris that could have rebounded into DS itself.

I understand I likely need psychotherapy, having devoted such thought to such subjects as this, but genius does what it must!

This isn’t my favorite scene, but it’s one of my favorite films.

Come Back Little Sheba.

Shirley Booth deserved her Oscar. I like the casting choice of Burt Lancaster as her husband too.

In no particular order:

border crossing scene in the first Sicario

two scenes from the 2004 Crash: the matt dillon/thandie newton rescue scene, with the haunting score in the background, and the Michael Cena/Ashlyn Sanchez (as Daniel and his daughter Lara) cloak scene. That chokes me up just writing about it.

Sadly I kind of agree.

The 1977 & 1980 films were great; 1983 one notch down but still fun.

1990s-early 2000 prequels? Junk (although the lightsaber duel with Maul I enjoyed).

Films 7-9? Better than junk, but still disappointing.

Rogue One standalone was well done.

You mean SW 9 I presume. Yes it’s hideous. But what hardly anyone seems to realize is that it’s an intentional parody pretending to be a clueless attempt at finishing the series. It is in fact not clueless at all; it’s a sly way of ridiculing all of SW. Watch it again with this in mind, and you’ll notice that everything that makes it a s*** movie is done on purpose.

That was a very good movie. Very interesting when I saw it after years of watching her as Hazel.

1:10 - - Der Bingle: “On the outside it’s a man’s world!”
“How are they doing, Father?” Bergman asks demurely.

Filmed in the midst of WWII

Here’s an interesting tidbit: in It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey, during the Pottersville sequence, sees the movie theater run down. When he returns to his own timeline, what movie is playing at the movie theater? The Bells of St. Mary’s.

I just watched “Rome Open City” just a few days ago. I had not seen it for about 25 years or so. I didn’t remember the particulars.

Her death was so sad, especially, since that day was supposed to be a day of hope for her.

That and then later the scene with the priest and he shouts, “maledetti!” to the Nazi soldiers, but then feels such remorse for having uttered that phrase.

I can’t decide who is my favorite character, Pina or Don Pietro.

The Big Country… when Gregory Peck rides ‘Old Thunder’

The Quiet Man… when Barry Fitzgerald as "O’Flynn, the matchmaker’s horse stops automatically at the pub.

That is probably my favorite movie of all. ☘️
oh yes, one of my top ten!

I also liked when the parish priest gathered all the Catholics to see the Anglican Bishop off and yelled “now wave like good protestants!”

Yes, that is one of my favorites.

“It’s a bag! For sleeping!”

“A man would have to be a sprinter to catch his wife in a bed like that!”

“Have you lost the little sense you were born with?”

“Here’s a stick to beat the lovely lady!”

So many good lines!

Wouldn´t it be wonderful if he broke his neck?
Maybe he will now, God willing.
