It’s a silly question which you and I both know I WAS NEVER GOING TO ANSWER.
 
If it did, it was in response to a murderous atheist communist attempt at revolution in Catholic countries.
 
That’s the direction I also see things moving. Not making a judgement call on whether that’s good or bad, just the reality.

You’re obviously not as oppressed as you think you are if the government of a world superpower is apparently on your side.

@RhodesianSon I’m not necessarily eager to live under it, but it’s a predictable development for our degenerate and overdeveloped capitalist system.
 
But you are aware you’re on a Catholic forum which condemns communism.

Do you think the Catholic Church whose limited resources against a foul ideology meant to destroy religion had many choices when fighting against communism?

It viewed the Church as primarily an enemy.
Hostility to religion finds prominent expression in Communism because Marxist philosophy regards religion as a reactionary force allied with capitalism and consequently as an obstacle to progress toward a communistic society. In the eyes of Marxists, not only powerful church organizations but also the influence of religious teaching on the masses are hindrances to realization of their ideals.

Who is too chummy with Russia? The current sanctions are far harsher now than before, deservedly so. I think Putin is a thug.

I’m opposed to any kind of authoritarianism/ Totalitarianism. I see communism and fascism as two peas in the same pod, and the variations of socialism they use as evil.

Is there any legitimate reason why they are dressed like the military?

It seems to me like they should be dressed like the U.S. Customs and Border Protections, instead of the U.S. Army.
 
However one wants to size it up, people have died, there has been a lot of destruction and perhaps ruined because of BLM/ANTIFA. People in prison and so on, arson charges.
 
One always dresses suitably for the occasion. Like possible anarchic violence from the mob.
 
Those are not soldiers. They are LEOs, dressed suitably for the occasion.
