Thank you.
Conventional wisdom, conventional thinking is often backwards. Pentecostals are a lot like Charismatic Catholics.I am wary of the Charismatic movement. Seems a lot like what pentacostals do.
Do the Catholic group speak in tongues? Can they be interpreted?
Never uttered a single syllable in a tongue. Not my charism. For the good of my soul, and to prevent even more pride than I currently suffer from, my charisms are quieter - even hidden from view. The guy didn’t read my posts. Sigh.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal is more about the renewal of one’s faith.
That is more important than tongue or other charismatic gifts which not everybody has.
I pretty much go along with what you had said but this is a surprise. Why such comment in a Charismatic Renewal thread? Baiting, it is I hope not. Many Latinos think Mary is the way to heaven to reach Jesus, but this is contrary to the Gospel. The renewal directs our lives back to Christ.
Um, this is not just a Latino thing. Are you not aware that Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit, and that St. Maximilian Kolbe wrote that because with spouses, two become one, Mary is basically the Holy Spirit in human form, and she definitely leads us to Heaven? Many Latinos think Mary is the way to heaven to reach Jesus, but this is contrary to the Gospel.
Mary is basically the Holy Spirit in human form???,Are you not aware that Mary is the spouse of the Holy Spirit, and that St. Maximilian Kolbe wrote that because with spouses, two become one, Mary is basically the Holy Spirit in human form, and she definitely leads us to Heaven
Ask him if he’s ever read the Book of Acts.A certain Catholic pro-life activist, one who will remain nameless for the purposes of this post, has expressed utter contempt for the Catholic charismatic movement as well as the concept of speaking in tongues. Said activist has described the Catholic charismatic movement as “very dangerous,” accusing it of incorporating “gnostic practices.” What should one say to this person? sigh![]()
He’d probably get angry. I can’t say for 100% certain, but he’s probably a “radical Catholic reactionary” (term coined by Catholic apologist Dave Armstrong).I’d speak in tongues to him just to see what he’d do
Even with Protestants, there’s groups that reject any gifts of the spirit saying they stopped with the last 12 Apostles. He’d probably get angry. I can’t say for 100% certain, but he’s probably a “radical Catholic reactionary” (term coined by Catholic apologist Dave Armstrong).
