The thing is is if you read the CDC Chief’s words, it is a leap to think he is talking about the Border with Mexico and I think that is what is leading some people erroneously thinking the border of Mexico is being talked about. The CDC Chiefs words could as easily be talking about sealing off the borders of the African Nations that have been hit so hard or even in a general way of safeguarding the total borders of the USA since I believe he mentioned seaports as well.

Does the “this is racism” crowd too go along with Jesse Jackson’s leading statements that Mr. Thomas Duncan was racially discriminated against too? Also, those of Louis Farrakhan’s?

That’s my question, do those who see this against brown-skinned people also unite with those saying it’s against black-skinned people.

This thread is also not about racism. Yes, many people in both political camps like to use a crisis to further an agenda.

It is my opinion that the topic of immigration in this thread on Ebola is fear-mongering.

Airline Cabin Cleaners Strike Over Ebola Exposure Fears

Nearly 200 airline cabin cleaners walked off the job at a New York City airport overnight, striking over health and safety issues that include fears over possible exposure to Ebola.

The protest involves Air Serv cabin cleaners in Terminal D at New York’s LaGuardia airport, a contractor that serves Delta, as well as supporting workers from LaGuardia and JFK International airports.

Protesting workers carried signs and chanted during today’s rally, protesting against conditions that they say often find them encountering hypodermic needles, vomit and blood.

Meanwhile, the Service Employees International Union Local 32BJ was scheduled to conduct infectious disease training today for airport cabin cleaners, terminal cleaners and wheelchair attendants.

I certainly don’t look at a story like this and think, these people are anti-immigration and xenophobic but one could interpret it that way.

I’d say it’s a legitimate concern.

I’m a bit hesitant to report this as he has not been confirmed yet, but at the same time it appears officials believe he was infected. Why they don’t have bloodwork back by now is puzzling.

BREAKING NEWS: British man dies of suspected Ebola in Macedonia

*A British man has died of suspected Ebola in the Macedonian capital of Skopje.
If confirmed, the unnamed man is the first British victim of the Ebola outbreak that has killed thousands in West Africa and has spread to North America and Europe.
A second man, a friend of the deceased, has also shown symptoms of the disease. The man’s death and nationality was confirmed by the Macedonian Foreign Ministry this evening. Tests are underway to find out if he had the disease.

Obamas airline plan has all his cronies chanting on national television and now in Europe also, its a “do nothing failure” and is insulting he should even suggest such nonsense as a viable option to address Ebola. Thats all there is to it. Its a hair more than doing “nothing”.

It would not have stopped Duncan and its not factual it will help at all. America should be outraged at this and that is why the PANIC foolishness and agenda is pushed. One phone call from the White House…one call…and Christie is the new poster child for the Obama Ebola campaign. He’s informed and qualified and by one DC call.

He was assured by the White House. In effect in this sequence of events everyone including the CDC and the other heath organizations along with the cronies like Christie, have been “assured” by Obama who at the end of all this is who in fact is pushing this incredibly woeful agenda.

We are on “HOPE” thats not coming “as usual”.

There are a couple of blood tests which can confirm a diagnosis early in the course of the disease. But they are only useful a few days after symptoms have started. So, quarantine is also required to reduce the possibility of transmission to others, until a definitive diagnosis is made.

Thank God for that. I’ve been thinking about the poor 15 year-old boy and his father who had contact with him in the clinic. They must be so relieved.

I do have to bring up though that even though all looks good for Sgt Monning, he is still not out of the incubation period yet.

Does anyone know how the nurse in spain is doing or if they determined the man who died in Greece had ebola?

I was reading a timeline of patient Duncan in Dallas. I was shovked to learn that after he was admitted to the presbyterian hospital the hospital staff still waited two days later when it was confirmed he had ebola for them to put on the hazmat suits caring for him.

It seems like he was on life support until family arrived from the east coast to see him.

Since his death the officials have been very quiet.

Tonight the movie Contagion was on. I saw it at the theatres a few years ago. It has a whole new meaning now.
