So basically you have bought into the value of a college degree.
It is a well-known and statistical fact.
Many of which anymore are worthless.
And many of which are very worthwhile. Why would you assume that people would prefer the worthless ones? You are all about giving people a choice in education. So trust them to make the right choice in this regard too.
Colleges are saturated with students many of which come out with little hope for a viable career in chosen major.
“Saturated?” Give me some numbers. In the meantime I’ll give you some numbers:
A recent study by the Pew Research Center found that the median yearly income gap between high school and college graduates is around $17,500.
There are many skills and trades that pay very well and are sorely needed.
That is true. What Republican program makes trade school training available to those who cannot afford the tuition?
Re primary education is is abysmal .Give parents the option of private schooling.
I’ll ask you again, where is the world and when in history has it ever been tried and proven that an educational system founded primarily on private schooling has done so much for so many as a public school system? Name a country. Name a time period…

Yes. That’s what I said. That, to me, can be classified as institutional
Excellent! So we have a framework for a discussion, now that we agree that institutional racism exists.

Here is a summary about the current Congress.
And how do they stack up on issues that are important to Catholics? A bunch of social liberals so no thank you.

Identity politics.

It is proven right here in the good old USA.My daughters are proof of what comes out of a private school education.

That might be a good question for a thread on which it is relevant to the topic.
Uh-huh, nice deflection, it’s in the make. If one goes on about diversity and identity politics then there viewpoints are pertinent.

Hardly. The issue that was raised is that the Democrats are the party opposed to minorities. That idea however skillfully spun, is vitiated by the simple facts of the demographics of registration, voting, and office holding. If you would like to criticize some politician or another for their views, I am sue you can find a thread on which that is pertinent to the actual topic being discussed.

They can still be opposed to minorities if they don’t help them in spite of what the demographics say. That is but one criteria. If the congress people want to grant blanket amnesty to those who have entered our country illegally, they are hardly helping the plight of a lot of Americans.<---- Including minorities. They are just building their power up.

To sustain that line of thinking you have to creep up to the line of suggesting that minorities don’t know what they are doing. That is where it seemed that @abucs went off the rails.

If we were talking about staying strictly on-topic, then perhaps, we would only be talking about these candidates for the governorship of Florida. It doesn’t look like that has happened.

If we were talking about staying strictly on-topic,
The question was about the racists tenor of the statement, that quickly led, in the context of racists politics, to the usual people making the usual remarks about the continuing legacy of racism in the Democratic party. That is the topic.

You missed the point. Where has a private school system benefitted the whole nation, not just the few who are fortunate enough to have access to it? That has not happened here because very few do have access to free private schooling.

Very elitist to believe college is the only route to financial success.
Is financial success the only thing that matters? Do you want to live in a society without historians and philosophers and literary critics and poets and art and art historians?

To each their own, but I don’t.

How snarky! I prefer to base my opinions and proof on actual interaction with individuals rather than rely on data of which you are so fond.
