All I can tell you is that the Patriots are in trouble right now.

And that I still expect the Vikings to beat the Eagles.

I just read an article on line that said that the cops and street dept in Philly are out greasing street signs and light poles to keep people from climbing them. 🤣

I ❤️ Philly so much

For a chance at one million dollars in cash and prizes, is that your final answer? 😆

(sorry pal couldn’t resist!!)

HOW 'BOUT THEM 2017-18 PHILADELPHIA EAGLES!! WOOOHOOO!!!

Hey, did you see those crazy Vikings fans prior to the game yesterday?? How DARE they!!

So I guess that leaves one final question now:

Can the New England Patriots defeat the underdog Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII? 🙂

There was a lot of celebration in Philly and the surrounding areas last night. You’d think it was the 4th of July or something! Good move by the police. 👍 👍

This is going to be a long 2 weeks! 😁

Well, the Pats were in trouble but prevailed…THANKFULLY.

About the Vikings------what happened? Are the Eagles really that good, or did Minnesota just lay an egg?

When the Jags went up 14-3 in the second, it wasn’t that they were up 2 scores, it was the way they were getting it done. I too thought the Pats were in deep doo at that point. But, as always, you can never really count out the Patriots with Brady & co…

I thought the Vikings came ready to play. They moved the ball right down the field on their opening drive and put up 7 points making it look easy. Then the Eagles scored the next 38 unanswered points turning it into a blowout win.

You really can’t say enough about the performance of Nick Foles, or even the coaching staff for getting him ready to play in place of Wentz, but also the Eagles defense which created a couple huge first half turnovers particularly the interception return that tied the game early!

So now the Patriots are 5 point favorites over the Eagles in the Super Bowl…

And the big question remains:

Will the New England Patriots defeat the underdog Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LII?

Philly will be burnt down if the ‘Iggles’ win…

ANYONE BUT THE PATS

Goodell revealed that he convened a summit earlier this month of five Hall of Fame wide receivers and several coaches to discuss the rule. The timing coincided roughly with the league’s most recent catch controversy, the Week 15 play in which Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Jesse James was ruled to have dropped a potential game-winning touchdown against the New England Patriots.

Yeah Denise, it was definitely a catch, and he had control of the ball while breaking the plane of the goal line. I remember watching and thought it was a TD. I’m sure most fans in the stands and those watching on TV probably thought so too. The announcers were chalking it up as a TD while reviewing the replay! How could it be overturned?

In my opinion, a common sense catch rule would have rewarded that effort as a TD. But the NFL catch rule as it currently stands actually covers exactly what happened on that play and why it was overturned.

Item 1. Player Going to the Ground. A player is considered to be going to the ground if he does not remain upright long enough to demonstrate that he is clearly a runner. If a player goes to the ground in the act of catching a pass (with or without contact by an opponent), he must maintain control of the ball until after his initial contact with the ground, whether in the field of play or the end zone. If he loses control of the ball, and the ball touches the ground before he regains control, the pass is incomplete. If he regains control prior to the ball touching the ground, the pass is complete.

I think the awkward part of the rule is that James had control of the ball and broke the plane of the end zone before he hit the ground which only then caused him to slightly lose control. If a running back took a handoff and the same exact thing happened to him, it would still be a touchdown.

So I guess the problem is a lack of consistency in the rules…

Archbishops of Boston and Philadelphia Announce ‘Friendly Wager’ on Super Bowl

The archbishops of the two cities represented in Super Bowl LII have announced a “friendly wager” on their respective teams, with a $100 donation to charity and lunch at stake in the bet.

The Philadelphia Eagles “are preparing for Super Bowl LII where they will face a fine and well-matched opponent in the New England Patriots,” Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput posted on Facebook Wednesday.

“My friend and seminary classmate, Cardinal O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston, and I have made a friendly wager to mark the occasion. If the Patriots win, I will make a $100 donation to Catholic Charities of Boston,” he said.

“In the event (when) the Eagles win, Cardinal Seán will make a $100 donation to Saint John’s Hospice, which provides emergency services to the homeless here in Philadelphia,” he added. “For good measure, we added Philadelphia cheesesteaks and Boston lobsters to the bet.”

“In the spirit of friendly competition, we have issued our wager because we have confidence in our teams and, more importantly, based on our admiration for the commitment of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots to assist their local communities and respond to the needs of the less fortunate,” the two archbishops said.

“We pray for a safe and enjoyable Super Bowl for both teams and all spectators, and that the gifts of God’s love and peace may bring us closer together as a society,” they said.
