Promoting the family Rosary, thanks to your ongoing prayers and support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Our previous session was two weeks ago. Two evangelists were available.

A couple of times during the session, family groups stopped at our table and 3 or 4 members of each group selected a Rosary. We encouraged them to pray it together. In one such group, only the little boy (about 4 years old) took a Rosary, but a few minutes later his mother came back and selected one for herself.

Several people called out to us that they had LOTS of Rosaries already. I ask them to “pray it once for us out here”. Guessing from the reactions, that could be a challenge for some of them. So would you please send up a prayer also that all of these people feel drawn to actually praying the Rosary? Thank you!

One woman was looking for a Christian support group to help her gain sobriety. Evangelist Mark offered her a map of area parishes (with contact info) and suggested she call our parish because we used to have a group there and someone in the office may know where the current meetings are. She accepted. Besides the map, she also accepted a Rosary and its booklet, a Miraculous Medal, and a copy of our pamphlet with other common Catholic prayers.

While I was setting up one man with a Rosary and map of area parishes, evangelist Mark talked with three teenage boys. One of them said he was Christian; another said that his family was but that he was not. So Mark set him up with our Good News/kerygma pamphlet.

Altogether, we provided 12-15 people with a Rosary and the booklet explaining the devotion, 1 person with a Miraculous Medal, another person with a Good News/kerygma pamphlet, 1-2 people with maps of area parishes, 1 family with Spanish copies of our Confession booklet and Good News/kerygma pamphlet, and 1 person with our pamphlet of common Catholic prayers.

Please pray for us again today? A first-time evangelist plans to join us. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the love needed to reach each of these people for Jesus Christ. Please pray that much fruit for God’s Kingdom comes from our efforts today.

Would you also please ask God to bless and protect all of our evangelists, their families and loved ones? Thank you so much! In turn, may God bless and protect you and yours!

And now, LORD, … enable Your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, as You stretch forth Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of Your Holy Servant Jesus (Acts 4:29-30).

Frustration leads to good, thanks to Crusaderbear and all of you for your prayer support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Last week, I welcomed a new evangelist to our team.

During the nearly five years this apostolate has been active in Boise, a pattern has emerged. Whenever someone with an exceptional gift for evangelization joins us, their first session usually features an especially difficult encounter. Last week, first-time street evangelist “Mike” encountered “Walt.” Walt, a housing-challenged man with cognitive deficits, wasn’t interested in receiving a Rosary or any other item from us. He was, however, eager to tell Mike his life story of many tangents. During the 55-minute encounter, evangelist Mike patiently kept bringing the conversation back around to faith matters. Please pray for “Walt”? His spirituality seems defined by “me and God, a direct link”; his life, however, doesn’t seem to be bearing the fruits of the Holy Spirit (cf. Gal 5:19-23).

Meanwhile, a novelist, “Roanne”, stopped to chat briefly when one of her two boys (about 7- and 12-years old) showed interest in receiving a Rosary. They each chose one. Not Catholic herself, Roanne nevertheless has a Catholic character in her current historical novel project and wants to be sure to get the details realistic. She accepted a copy of the Catechism, since it presents the teachings of the Catholic Church – teachings which haven’t changed through the centuries. But I also encouraged her to read it through from the beginning because it also presents the uniquely Catholic worldview. Then I referred her to a priest who may be able to answer her questions about the particular historical time and place involved, or perhaps refer her to someone who can. Please pray that God captures her heart and draws her and her family home to the Catholic Church?

The other *Catechism *I had brought went to a man who worked for years in northern Idaho helping financially distressed but working families build houses for themselves. During that time, he said, he belonged to a consortium of ministers from different Christian denominations, although he himself was not a minister. Raised a non-Catholic Christian in a “high church”, liturgical denomination, he attends services with similar Catholic-look-alike congregations here. I gave him a map of area parishes, with Mass times listed, and encouraged him to take the free tour of our cathedral church. He also accepted a Rosary and its booklet on how to pray it.

Two men came over to ask what we were doing. I told them that we gave away free Rosaries and answered questions about the Catholic Faith. They weren’t interested. Then a pair of boys, late pre-teen or early teens, also came directly over to my table. One of them asked for a Rosary and accepted its pamphlet as well. The other one said nothing.

One father with two children seemed as if he would decline my offer of a free Rosary, but when his daughter wanted one, he relented. The boy and the girl then each took a Rosary, as well as its booklet.

Although foot traffic seemed lighter than usual, a surprising number of people said, “Yes, I would like a Rosary!” So we ended up giving away 15-20 Rosaries, 2 copies of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and 1-2 maps of area parishes.

Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown again in an hour or so from now. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the charity needed to reach each of these irreplaceable souls for Jesus. Please ask God to grant that much fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Thank you so much! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

And now, LORD, … enable Your servants to speak Your word with all boldness, as You stretch forth Your hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of Your Holy Servant Jesus (Acts 4:29-30).

Five evangelists were present, at one point! So thank you for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Here are some highlights from that session last week. [Sorry about the rough formatting (and the user name change). The new forum format and my browser don’t seem to be getting along well.]
  • Our first visitor last week was “Forrest”. Greeted by evangelists Mike and Randy, he started out “a bit cocky”, they said, but soon discovered that both evangelists were also Vietnam vets. Then Forrest’s attitude relaxed and the conversation became warmer. By the time he left, Mike says, “we were brothers.” Forrest gratefully accepted a Rosary for his granddaughter, and a Miraculous Medal for himself.
  • Then evangelists Randy and Noelle had to leave to fulfill family obligations. Evangelist Mark stepped back to head up our crucially needed on-site prayer support. He told us afterward that when he and Noelle did sidewalk counseling outside abortion clinics in Virginia, the three or four counselors had as many as 40 on-site prayer warriors stationed in groups at a distance and praying for them. It made a powerful difference!
  • Meanwhile, Mike and I continued to offer people a free Rosary. One man accepted a Rosary and continued on his way. A few moments later, though, he came back to shake our hands and thank us for being there and giving him the Rosary. Oh course, all the thanks belong to God, Who called us to set up our table in his path.
  • Twice in a row, groups of pre-teen boys on wheels (bicycles, in the first case, skateboards, in the second) screeched to a halt at our offer of a free Rosary. Most of them respectfully accepted one and the brochure explaining the devotion.
  • A couple decided to accept a free Rosary. He, dressed all in black, took a black one and then made a disparaging remark about it. I handed a Rosary brochure to the woman as I explained to them both that the Rosary is used for prayer and that people who actually try to pray it find it a powerful experience of peace. The man then politely accepted the Rosary brochure as well.
  • One woman, who was there with her husband and three children (maybe 8, 5 and 2), asked us for directions to a certain store. Her body language said, “I don’t want a Rosary or any of your Catholic stuff, but I would like some secular help.” Mike knew the store and told her how to get there. Meanwhile, her children were looking longingly at the Rosaries. So I asked if it was okay if they had one. She said, “Yes.” They each chose one, and I offered the two older children the pamphlet on it. Then the littlest one came back and wordlessly asked for a pamphlet. I gave her one, too.
  • Altogether, 20-25 people each received a Rosary and its booklet, 1 received a Miraculous Medal, 1-2 received a copy of the Gospel according to St. Luke, and 1 person accepted a Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please pray that God sends people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. Please pray that God grants us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the charity needed to reach each of these souls for Christ. Please pray that much fruit for His Kingdom comes from today’s efforts.

Thank you again! Five evangelists were a great blessing! In turn, may God bless and protect you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

Opening non-Catholic Christian hearts to the Rosary, thanks be to God Who hears your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization efforts! So thank you so much – your lifting us up in prayer makes all the difference! Last week, two evangelists were available.
  • We had 4-5 opportunities during the session to explain the Rosary to non-Catholic Christians. When they find out that the Rosary is about meditating on the life of Jesus and that the beads only help them time their meditation, their hearts really open toward it – and perhaps sparks a desire to actually pray it!
  • One non-Catholic Christian couple each accepted a Rosary and its explanation. They especially seemed to welcome my invitation to pray it together.
  • One non-Catholic Christian man accepted a Rosary and its explanation. My fellow evangelist Mike then watched him sit down immediately at a nearby picnic table and begin to study the Rosary pamphlet.
  • One man patted his pocket when I offered him a Rosary, letting me know he already had one. However, he gladly accepted the Miraculous Medal I offered him. I encouraged him to find a cord and wear it about his neck.
  • A Catholic couple stopped by, saying they had just come from Mass. I pointed out to “Hannah” that our pamphlet showed where each of the Rosary’s Mysteries can be found in the Bible, and how that really helps non-Catholic Christians be willing to try the devotion. She accepted several extra copies of the pamphlet to share with friends!
  • Evangelist Mike sends this message: “My favorite memory of our last ministry was the family that had the person in the wheelchair and that the young man put the rosary over her neck. Let us lift up her suffering for the world!”
  • Altogether, we gave people 15-20 Rosaries and its booklet, 1 Miraculous Medal, 2 Good News/kerygma pamphlets
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please pray that God sends people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please pray that God grants us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the charity needed to reach each priceless soul for Jesus Christ. Please pray that much fruit for His Kingdom comes of our efforts today!

Thank you so much! Because of your prayers, even non-Catholics are valuing the Rosary! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

“No go,” last week, but thanks to your prayer support–Crusaderbear, Barb, Br. Paul Maria, Michael, and all of you–we plan to hit the streets again today.

Several things happened last week that ended up doing me in, as weak as I am.
  • First, none of the other evangelists were available to join me. But that’s happened many times before and hasn’t usually been a show-stopper.
  • Then, the electronic locks to my car refused to open, and that meant I couldn’t open the trunk, where I keep the table and signs. That shouldn’t have stopped me, either, because it was possible to reach the items through the passenger doors, which could still be unlocked manually.
  • But then the wave of fear and doubt hit me, and I was a goner. Please forgive me?
So, please, pray for the Boise Catholic street evangelization effort again this week? I’m planning to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please pray that God sends people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please pray that God grants us evangelists the words, the wisdom, the charity–and the courage–to reach each soul for Jesus Christ. Please pray that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of our efforts today.

Without God’s answers to your prayers, especially for guidance and protection, this apostolate doesn’t happen. So, thank you again, so much! In turn, may God greatly bless and protect you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

A lively session last week, thanks to God’s answer to your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • One man stopped just as I was beginning to set up. He asked which church I was from. “Catholic,” I said. “No, I mean…” He paused, searching for the right term. “Parish?” I suggested. “Yes.” He was Catholic, he said, and told me his parish. I pointed out my parish on our map of area parishes, that lists Mass times, and invited him to our Sunday evening Mass. “But I have to be at work before it would end,” he said. How about his own parish? He said some special teen Mass was scheduled at that time. I assured him that everyone would be welcome–as is true for all Catholic Masses.
  • My fellow evangelist, Mike, talked with a group of young people (young teens or pre-teen). One of them returned a few minutes later, asking if he’d left his phone on our table. Nope. We sent up a prayer to St. Anthony, and Mike laid his hand on the young man’s head and prayed. Just before the end of the session, the group passed by again, the phone in the young man’s hand blaring music. Turns out, he had left it on a picnic table near the restaurant and someone had turned it in. We publicly thanked God (and, thank you again, St. Anthony, for interceding).
  • Several couples stopped to visit with us. In one conversation, the man said, “I have a nice Rosary at home.” He was Catholic, though inactive; she was not Catholic. Before the end of the conversation, he accepted a map of area parishes, with Mass and Reconciliation times listed, a copy of the Rosary brochure, and an invitation to the return to active practice of his Faith.
  • One girl (maybe 8-10 years old) was doing cartwheels across the plaza. Eventually, she came by our table. Not Christian, she accepted a Rosary, its brochure and a quick explanation, as well as a copy of our Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
  • Several families stopped by. In one group of repeat visitors, he was a practicing Catholic, his wife and daughter were nonbelievers. This time, the daughter asked for a Rosary and accepted an explanation of it. She also accepted a copy of our Good News/kerygma pamphlet. Please pray for them?
  • Altogether, we gave 25-30 people a Rosary and its booklet, 2-4 people a Miraculous Medal, 3-4 people a Good News/kerygma pamphlet, and at least 4 people a map to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. Please also ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the charity needed to reach each of these souls for Him. Please ask that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts?

Thank you so much. God granted us a lively session last week, touching many people’s lives, thanks in large measure to your prayer support. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

Jesus is real! And, thanks to your ongoing prayer support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort, people get to hear that spoken out loud. Here are some highlights from our session last week.
  • “Christa” stopped by, early on. She told us her mother had been “adamant about no religion in the house.” She accepted a Rosary and its brochure from us, as well as a copy of our Good News pamphlet, which presents the kerygma.
  • One man, who had accepted a Rosary early in the session, thanked us again for it as he passed by later.
  • “Travis” was our last visitor. He entered into a long conversation with evangelist Mark about his belief system, a new-age emphasis on energies and patterns. His moral sense was simply “be a good person”. He had turned his back on Christianity when, in a non-Catholic Christian community, he graduated from the “little kids’ Sunday school class”, where everything was positive and warm, into “adult church”, where evidently the emphasis was on sin consciousness. Evangelist Mark tried to speak to him clearly about Christianity’s unique belief in the historical reality of Jesus and that He had actually risen from the dead. Travis was polite, but made it clear that he didn’t clearly believe that Jesus was even real. Please pray for Travis?
  • Foot traffic was very light due to the threat of rain. (Boiseans tend to huddle indoors at the least sign of inclement weather.) It was sprinkling a few drops of rain as I drove downtown, but the sun came out the moment I set foot on the brick pathway of the business park where we set up. Then, although there were brief moments of cloudiness, we were able to stay set up in the open and had sunshine for most of the session. It began to rain again, though, as I headed back to my car.
  • Altogether, about 4-7 people accepted a Rosary and its booklet, 1 person accepted a pocket-sized Gospel according to St. Luke, and 1 person accepted a copy of our Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a few hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the charity needed to reach each of these souls for Jesus Christ. Please pray that much good fruit for God’s Kingdom comes of our efforts today.

Thank you so much! Jesus is indeed real, and alive, and loves each of us so much. Thanks to your prayer support, we get the opportunity to tell people this good news! In turn, may God protect and bless you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

Starting our 6th year in Boise! So thank you to all of you who pray for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization efforts. Without God’s answer to your prayers, we can do nothing! Here are some highlights from last week’s session. One evangelist was available.
  • Our first visitor was a young man on a skateboard, maybe in his early teens. He said he “had been raised Catholic, but had been away awhile”. (Oh, how quickly sin can age a person!) He accepted a bright pink Rosary (at the request of his fellow skateboarder, who didn’t approach our table). Then my visitor also politely accepted a copy of our map that lists Mass and Reconciliation times for area parishes, as well as an invitation to return to his Faith.
  • A man, who may have been a repeat visitor, accepted a(nother) Rosary and its brochure. He seemed to be down and out, financially, and to have trouble keeping track of his belongings. Please pray for him?
  • Another man stopped for a Rosary. Having trouble choosing a color, he asked me my favorite. I pointed to one and said that it reminded me of sunshine and blue skies. He decided to take it (and a brochure) “for his mom”, who he guessed would be thrilled that he’d been nice to me.
  • Best of all: Three different people acknowledged they had received a Rosary from me in recent weeks. When asked if they had learned to pray it yet, all three replied with a resounding “Yes!” I find that very consoling.
  • Altogether, our “numbers” last week might seem low because foot traffic was so light. But every soul is precious in God’s eyes. I ended up giving away 3 Rosaries and 1 map to area parishes.
Last week marked the end of our first five years of almost weekly evangelization outings in Boise. But our efforts continue! So please pray for us again today? I am planning to head downtown again in just a couple of hours.

Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the right words and manner to reach each of these souls for Christ. Please pray that God brings much good fruit for His Kingdom from our efforts today?

Now in our 6th year, we still rely on your prayer support. Thank you so much! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Souls finding hope, thanks to your ongoing prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization apostolate! (Thank you, especially, @Crusaderbear and Dianne for your prayers and messages of encouragement. They really help!) Two evangelists were available last session.
  • One woman, recently diagnosed with cancer, and whose brother and nephew were also recently diagnosed with that scourge, accepted Rosaries for some of her grandchildren and several copies of our “How to Pray the Rosary” booklet. She planned to really promote praying the family Rosary with them. Please send up a prayer for them all?
  • “George”, a “former Catholic”, accepted a Rosary but not the booklet. Please pray for him?
  • Evangelist Mike had a repeat encounter with “Mark” from a few weeks before. He says this: “One of the visitors I saw today was ‘Mark’, whom I initially met a few weeks ago. At that time he was new to town, downtrodden, living in the local homeless shelter and, although he had a new job at a local eatery, wouldn’t get paid for a couple of weeks. We talked and prayed and I slipped him a few bucks to help him out. At our current visit, he was happy, had gotten a raise at his job, and had been to Mass that morning. He said he really appreciated our being there when he needed help. I told him to come by and visit us when in the area and that we are always looking for people to help spread the Word.” Mark also plans to increase his daily Mass attendance. Thanks be to God! Please keep Mark in your prayers this week?
  • Another man who said he was Christian was interested in the Rosary and tried comparing it to non-Christian, eastern-style, meditation beads. He asked if the Rosary was based on them. Evangelist Lucy let him know that there was no relation between the two and explained the relationship of the Rosary to the 150 Psalms. He accepted a copy of the brochure explaining how to pray it and listing the Mysteries. Seeds were planted, let us pray.
  • An adult woman with her granddaughter stopped and got a Rosary and learned about the Miraculous Medal.
  • Altogether, we gave away 20-25 Rosaries and/or booklets about it, 2 maps of area parishes, and 1-2 Miraculous Medals.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to head downtown in just about an hour from now (but God is outside of time, so if you see this later than that, you can always ask God to “backdate” your prayer).

Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, the charity, and any other gifts needed to reach each soul for Jesus and His Kingdom. Please pray that much lasting fruit is borne for Him from our efforts today.

People who encounter us are finding their hope renewed. But we can’t do it without God’s answer to your prayers for us. So, thank you again so much! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

God calls the qualified—thanks to your ongoing prayer support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Plus, a personal thank you to Crusaderbear, Barbara, Dianne, and Susie, who each offered words of encouragement this week. A big thank you, too, to my parish’s Legion of Mary presidium, who donated Rosaries to our apostolate. May God bless each of you!

Three evangelists were available.
  • Evangelist Mark engaged in a 45-minute conversation with three 18- to 20-year-old men. One is a first-year student at a local non-Catholic Christian Bible college, led the conversation. Another is saving money to attend next year. The third attends a local secular college. They were curious about the Rosary. Evangelist Mark reports:

    • One of the guys asked me who the "Holy Queen" was and I explained how Mary is the new Queen Mother in Christ's Kingdom. This led to discussing authority and how we can know authentic Christianity.
They did not, at first, think that Catholicism is Christianity. I affirmed their Christian community had a lot of great things but did not have the fullness of grace and truth that Christ intended for them.

    • Then I gently challenged them to look into Church history to see the role Catholic bishops had in forming of the canon of Scripture. This is what our conversation mainly centered around: authority and authentic Christianity. They were kind and respectful.
  • Evangelist Mark also reported that a woman stopped, who told him she received a Rosary from us 2 years ago, when she and her son were checking out the local university. She still has the Rosary and remembers our conversation.
  • Another man stopped by. He still identifies himself as Catholic, though he hasn’t been to church in many years. He accepted a Rosary, its brochure, and a copy of a map to area parishes.
  • A pair of women, holding hands, were passing by. But when evangelist Mike approached to offer them a Rosary, they positioned themselves so their joined hands were not visible. They declined the Rosary, but could their action mean that the Holy Spirit was telling them there is a problem with their lifestyle?
  • Lots of people were out, though few stopped at our table. Still we gave away maybe 10 Rosaries & brochures, 1 Miraculous Medal, and 2 maps of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a few minutes. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. Please ask Him to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the love needed to reach each of these souls for Him. Please pray that much good fruit for His Kingdom is borne from our efforts today?

“God calls the qualified and qualifies the called”, even in Boise. So thank you so much! Your prayer support makes a truly positive difference. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Why the Church? Thanks to your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort, sometimes the Holy Spirit gives one of us just the right question to ask.
  • The first person to stop was repeat visitor “Trevor”, and his dog. Taught a very “me and Jesus” Christianity, he’d also been taught that Catholicism is not Christian. Evangelist Mike tried to correct some of Trevor’s misconceptions. But nothing was getting through. Then Mike asked: “If Christianity is just between individual believers and Jesus, why did Jesus go to all the trouble to found a Church?” Trevor couldn’t answer, and repeated the question to himself. Leaving, he said he hoped to see us again. Please pray a seed was planted?
  • A woman, accepting a Rosary, admitted she was not practicing her Catholic Faith, but was thinking about coming back. Evangelist Lucy gave her a map of parishes in the area. Pleased, she thanked us for being there.
  • Several groups of teens came by. Some of them accepted Rosaries. One teen in one group, and two in another, admitted they weren’t Christian. Each of the three graciously accepted our one-page copy of the kerygma, called “Good News”. Please pray they accept the message?
  • A family on bicycles was traveling by. One boy, around 13, slammed on his brakes – and his dad immediately plowed into the back of the 3-wheeled bike! The developmentally disabled boy, unhurt, had understood the word “Free”. He came over and chose a Rosary. None of the others did. Evangelist Mike spotted the boy again later, with the Rosary around his neck (as blessed Alan de la Roche urged).
  • Another woman accepted a Rosary and its brochure. Evangelist Mike invited her to consider joining the Catholic Church, saying, “there’s always room for one more sinner”. She gladly accepted a map to area parishes.
  • A man, who prefers to attend a Spanish-language Mass, accepted a copy of our map. It lists Sunday Mass and Reconciliation times.
  • Repeat visitor “Brooke” received encouragement to develop the habit of praying the Rosary every day. She also accepted a copy of the Catechism, and immediately sat down at a nearby table to begin to read it.
  • Altogether, we gave away 10-12 Rosaries, 1 Miraculous Medal, 3 kerygma pamphlets, 2-3 maps of area parishes, and 1 copy of the Catechism.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists all gifts needed to reach each soul for Jesus Christ. Please pray that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Sometimes a simple question opens a “chink in the armor” of someone opposing God’s plan. And, thanks to your prayers and other support, sometimes we’re privileged to ask it! So thank you! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

May your work meet with nothing but success!
Our Father, Hail Mary x10, Glory Be, Fatima Prayer, AMEN!

Building a Catholic presence, thanks to your ongoing prayer support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization efforts. Also, a public thank you going to Barbara, who sent us a package of homemade Rosaries, and to @Crusaderbear and to Mike for prayers and encouraging messages.
  • During our last session, a Catholic man, visiting from a major US city, told us that he had “lots of Rosaries” at home. When I explained how to use our Rosary brochure to introduce the Rosary to non-Catholic Christians, he gladly accepted a copy. Then I asked if he had a Rosary with him. Since he did not, I encouraged him to select one for himself to use during his travels. He did.
  • A woman who had visited with us before, perhaps 6-8 months ago, passed by again. Evangelist Mark recognized her and asked her how she was doing. She immediately let us know that she was still wearing the “Mary medal” (Miraculous Medal) we’d given her at that time. Please pray for her?
  • A man in a hurry stopped long enough to select a Rosary and its brochure, and to listen to a very brief introduction to the devotion.
  • A non-Catholic Christian man asked if we’d heard the news about the shooting deaths of about 20 members of his denomination in a church in another state. It had just happened. Joining us in a prayer for God’s mercy, we all agreed that we Christians need to be standing shoulder to shoulder. He accepted a copy of our Rosary brochure.
  • Another man, who evidently was raised Catholic, accepted a Rosary, saying it was about time he got back to praying it.
  • Altogether, we gave away only 4-5 Rosaries. Few people were out, probably due to the unpleasantly cold and damp weather and its threat of more rain. The rain, though, stay stopped during our session and the sun even shone for most of it. (Praise God!)
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us with their eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the words, the wisdom, and the love needed to reach each of these souls for Him. Please pray that much fruit for His Kingdom comes from today’s efforts.

Your prayers and support help us continue to make our Catholic presence visible in the community. Thank you so much! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Go with the strength you have (Judges 6:14).

I like the single decade rosaries, easier to hold onto and harder to break! I’ve given several away and plan to give more! Keep up your great work! The rosary has always been a comfort to those in need!

Our Father, Hail Mary x10, Glory Be, Fatima, AMEN!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!S

Jesus, source of true joy! People are hearing that Good News, thanks to your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort!
  • Our first visitor wanted a Rosary, but said he believed in the Greek so-called gods. When evangelist Lucy opened her mouth to present Jesus, he added, “But Jesus is one of them.” So she explained that using a Rosary to meditate on the events in Jesus’ life would help him get to know Him better. He seemed willing. Please pray for him?
  • A man, currently living in his pickup, told us he had just gotten a service job, but couldn’t yet afford an apartment. He believes in Jesus, and took a Rosary and its pamphlet. He also took a map of area parishes and was very appreciative.
  • Two young men, 12-13 years old, on skateboards stopped. The first admitted to not being Christian. He accepted a Rosary, its brochure, and a Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
  • A group of six young adults dropped by> One of them wanted to take our picture for her class project on “Suicide Prevention. by asking people what gave them joy.” Both evangelists Lucy and Mike said, “Jesus!” Then Mike asked her what made her happy. She grinned and said, “The same!” She’s a non-Catholic Christian, so we explained that the Rosary is a meditation on the life of Christ. She accepted one for herself as well as its booklet.
  • “Nate”, in his mid-20s, wanted a Rosary for his grandmother. He was baptized Catholic, but evidently had not received much formation. Now searching for a spirituality, he had become aware that, rather than concentrate on himself, he should look out for others. He also now knew that Truth existed and could be relied on. He had read some of Fr. Thomas Merton’s works and felt drawn to his worldview. He decided to take a Rosary, its brochure, and a copy of the Catechism. He was heading out of town for vacation, and said he would read the Catechism there.
  • A middle-aged man on a bicycle told us that his wife, who is Catholic, is accusing him of being untrue to her, which he said was not true. He wanted us to pray for her as well as their relationship. He took a Rosary and pamphlet for her, as well as a Miraculous Medal. He thanked us for being there.
  • Altogether, we gave away 15-20 Rosaries, a copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, a copy of the Good News/kerygma pamphlet, and one Miraculous Medal.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just about an hour. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to receive the good news about Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists the love, wisdom, and words needed to reach each soul for Him. May much fruit for His Kingdom comes from our efforts today!

Jesus is the only source of true joy! So thank you again so much for your prayer support! In turn, may God protect and bless you and yours!
