O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

God heals! So, a big thank you to all of you who have offered prayer and other support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • A man laid down his guitar and greeted us as Fr. Tom and I arrived, saying he sometimes played Christian songs. Then, before we even began to set up, he asked us to pray for him for healing: his back, ribs, and neck. Fr. Tom led the prayer. “Wow!” the man kept saying while we prayed. And, at the end, “I’m healed!” Then, stretching out his arms, “See?” Somewhat later, as he packed up his guitar, he came and thanked us again because he was “somewhat better”. He never accepted a Rosary.
  • Several groups of teens and pre-teens stopped, each selecting a Rosary. Some actually seemed interested in learning to pray with it. Then a group of three pre-teen boys stopped, one already wearing a Rosary (now missing its Crucifix). Chaotically, they started grabbing Rosaries and other things off the table. One of them heard me say, “no, only one per person” and helped me enforce that. Then they noticed the Miraculous Medals and asked for them. But one cautioned another in a whisper something about “Mary”, and then both passed their medal along to the third boy, who was attaching them to his broken Rosary. None of the boys accepted the card explaining the history of the Miraculous Medal.
  • A mom and daughter from a local Catholic parish stopped when I offered them Rosaries. “You gave me one last summer,” the mom said, “but I’d like my daughter to have one.” As the daughter was choosing just the right Rosary, I encouraged the two to pray it together. The mom had misplaced her copy of the booklet, so I gave them each one.
  • A chronically housing-challenged woman, “Katherine”, stopped by again. I still didn’t have a scapular to offer her, but she also asked for a picture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary (which I also didn’t have). I made the mistake of asking to take a picture of her back and she abruptly ended her conversation and started to rush away. Fr. Tom, though, spoke briefly with her and I saw, for the first time ever, a smile light up her face.
  • Altogether, we gave away 20-25 Rosaries & booklets (mostly to groups of young people), 3-4 Miraculous Medals, 1 miniature Crucifix, and 1-2 maps of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us with their hearts open to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists everything we need to reach each soul for Jesus Christ. Please ask that much good fruit for His Kingdom will come of our efforts today?

God hears prayer, and people respond to Him. So thank you again for your prayers and other support! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

The “real game” had four more players on “Super Bowl Sunday”, a near-holiday in the US, thanks to your ongoing prayer and other support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • An early visitor was a man carrying his baby daughter (“Kestral”, 3-6 months old), bundled up on his chest under his coat. He accepted a Rosary for her and a copy of the booklet explaining the devotion. Fr. Tom blessed the baby.
  • A Hispanic couple paused. She accepted a Rosary and a copy of our Spanish-language brochures on it. Then she noticed the Saint medals, and accepted one of St. Francis of Assisi, which gained her a smile from her husband. Another mom and dad accepted a St. Thérèse medal for their little girl, about 4 years old.
  • A group of three people, in their 20s, stopped to get a free Rosary. When asked if they were Christian, they said no. They each accepted, not only a Rosary and its booklet, but a copy of our one-page presentation of the basic Christian message (kerygma).
  • A couple stopped to ask where the nearest hospital was. Dismayed at hearing “a couple of miles”, they gladly accepted directions to a somewhat nearer urgent-care facility. Evangelist Mike offered to pray for the woman, which she gladly accepted. We all joined in. Please send up a prayer for her?
  • A woman selected a beautiful pink-heart Rosary for her daughter. She also accepted the pamphlet on it.
  • A mother, accompanied by her 3 young sons, stopped and got a Rosary and its pamphlet for herself. None of her boys wanted a Rosary.
  • A few of the passersby, when offered a Rosary, said they already had one. We’d ask, “Pray one for us?”
  • Since foot traffic was so light, the four of us evangelists prayed 5 decades of the Rosary, plus the Chaplet of Divine Mercy together. Out loud. In public. No telling the amount of good that does!
  • Altogether, we gave away about 10 Rosaries, 2 medals (1- St. Thérèse, 1-St. Francis of Assisi), and 3 Good News/kerygma pamphlets.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to join up downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to accept Jesus’ offer of salvation, especially through the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists all we need to reach each soul for Him. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts?

Playing for keeps on God’s field! So thank you again for your prayers! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours.

Praying for your work to continue!

Prayers…
May the Lord grant your petition…

Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be, Fatima, Amen…

Souls still search, so our efforts continue – thanks to your ongoing prayers and support for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization apostolate. Your encouraging messages are also very much appreciated. God granted us another peaceful session last week.
  • Twenty-seven-year-old “Allie” responded to evangelist Lucy’s offer of a free Rosary. Evangelist Mike then engaged her in a long conversation. She is finishing up her graduate degree and currently belongs to a pseudo-Christian sect. Unhappy, though, with a lot of its teachings, she has been visiting different churches in the area. She accepted a Catechism , a map of area parishes, and an invitation to catch the tour of the historic cathedral. When she mentioned an interest in the consecrated religious vocation, evangelist Lucy also gave her a copy of our “Sexual Purity” pamphlet. Before the end of the visit, she accepted a Miraculous Medal and said she would begin wearing it around her neck. May our Blessed Mother guide her journey all the way “home”!
  • A businessman, in the process of relocating to Boise, stopped by. He had moved to Boise, but was still staying in a hotel until his family arrived. We welcomed them to Boise. It turns out the man “used to be Catholic”. So, we offered him a map of area parishes, with Mass and Reconciliation times listed, and encouraged him to get reconnected. We also told him about the tours of the Cathedral, in which he seemed interested.
  • The business man was accepting a Rosary in the colors of a popular local sports team when another couple came up. Evangelist Lucy thought they were related to the man, but the woman was clearly dismayed when the evangelist handed the team-colored Rosary to the businessman. They were just two more interested passersby! But (God bless our Rosary makers!) we had another, matching Rosary in the same colors, which the woman gratefully accepted.
  • A police officer greeted us cheerfully as he passed by. (Thank you, God!) He stopped just a little farther away to talk to the group of young skateboarders gathered in the center of the park. They all left the area.
  • Three evangelists were available for the session. Altogether, we gave away 12-15 Rosaries, 1 Miraculous Medal, 1 “Sexual Purity” pamphlet, 1 copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and 2 maps of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to head downtown again in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and the Church that He founded. God calls restless hearts to Him. So thank you again for your prayers! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours.

Reaching more nonbelievers, thanks to your ongoing prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. One evangelist was available last week.
  • A boy, 10 years old or younger, stopped. He needed his mom’s permission before he accepted anything, so he called her. She said yes, so he chose a Rosary for himself. He said he used to go to a Catholic school, but had left due to bullying. His family evidently had then quit going to church at all, and he said he had really missed not going to Easter Mass last year. Please pray for him and his family?
  • A man stopped and asked me to explain the Rosary, rather than read about it himself. So I did. When I asked if he was Christian, he replied that he “believed in God”. I got that remark, too, from a couple of other people during the session. To one of them, at least, I gave a kerygma pamphlet, which presents the basic Christian message in one page.
  • A group of young men, perhaps in their early- to mid-teens, stopped and looked at the Rosaries. None of them, though, accepted one.
  • A woman accepted a Rosary and then, suddenly in tears, asked me to pray for her to find her wallet. She was from out of town and in quite a bit of distress. I prayed for her then and there, but would you please also send up a prayer right now, and ask God (Who dwells outside of time) to backdate your prayer so 1) she finds her wallet in time, and 2) realizes that it was God in His great love and mercy Who restored it to her?
  • The weather was unpleasantly cold for Boiseans, but the snow and sleet stopped just before our session began. Then the sun came out. When that happened, lots of people ventured outside and passed our table. But then it clouded over again and the foot traffic pretty much evaporated. Still, I was able to give away 15-20 Rosaries, 1 Miraculous Medal, 1 Gospel According to St Luke, 1-2 Good News/kerygma pamphlets, and a couple of bookmarks.
Please pray for us again today? It’s been snowing again, but the Message about Jesus Christ still needs to go out. We plan to head downtown in just about an hour from now. Please ask God to send people to us who are prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and the Church that He founded. Please ask God to grant us evangelists whatever we need to reach each priceless soul for Him. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom is borne from our efforts today.

New people encounter us every week, including nonbelievers who want to know about Christ. So thank you again so much for your ongoing prayers and other support! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

“God really does moderate our weather!” So said an evangelist in his first winter with us. So thank you so much for your prayers and other sacrifices for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort! The protection God grants is part of His answer. I can’t thank you enough!
  • Last week, it was snowing steadily when I arrived. Before the session was half over, though, it had not only completely stopped snowing, but the ground around us was dry. This led to my fellow evangelist’s profession of deepening faith, as quoted above.
  • Two housing-challenged men, “Jesse” and “Andrew”, answered our offer of a free Rosary. Andrew expressed the belief that life was unfair, though both already believed in Jesus. Jesse spotted the Miraculous Medals, and they each accepted one. We then circled up to pray for God’s guidance in their lives. Jesse added a petition to get to his home state safely and to reconnect with his family.
  • A woman with a colorful knit hat, “Holly”, was an inactive Catholic. She accepted a Rosary, pamphlet, and Miraculous Medal. The evangelists prayed together with for her. Although she hadn’t said what her specific challenges were, she teared up as the prayer “hit home” anyway. She accepted a map and an invitation to catch the free tour of the cathedral a few blocks away.
  • A man, perhaps in his upper teens, stopped to ask for money to rent earphones at the public library. We asked him if he would like a Rosary and he took one and its pamphlet. Evangelist Mike then passed him a few quarters and advised him not to listen to anything disrespectful with them. The man laughed and said he wouldn’t.
  • As we were shutting down, another young man walked by. In his 20s and looking homeless, he seemed pretty downhearted. When we offered a Rosary, though, he brightened up and picked one. He also accepted its pamphlet. We told him about the free tours at the nearby cathedral and that it would be a warm place for him to sit and pray, if he wanted. He liked the idea and left in a much better mood.
  • Perhaps “blessed are the poor” because they are so aware of their need for God and His help. Although most of our visitors seemed “on the margins” of society, we found glad recipients for 10-12 Rosaries, 2-3 Miraculous Medals, 2-3 Good News/Kerygma pamphlets, and 2-3 maps of area parishes with the invitation to get connected/reconnected.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to set up downtown again in just about an hour from now. Please ask God to send people to us with their hearts prepared to receive the news about Our Savior and to grant us evangelists whatever we need to reach each soul for Jesus Christ.

God continues to bless this apostolate, so thank you again so much for your prayers, sacrifices, and words of encouragement! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!
