Hail Mary
Full of grace,
The Lord is with Thee
Blessed art Thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of Thy womb,
Jesus
Holy Mary
Mother of God,
Pray for us sinners,
Now and at the hour of death, Amen

Pointing to the only true God, so thank you again so much for your prayers and other encouragement for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort! Two evangelists were available.
  • A group of 7-8 teenage boys each accepted a Rosary and booklet. Blessed Mother, we entrust them to your gracious love; please lead them all to your Son?
  • A middle-aged man, “Jeff”, broke away from a group of about 6 other people, saying he wanted a Rosary. A Catholic visiting from northern Idaho, he accepted Rosary and booklet, as well as a map to area parishes, so he could catch Mass that evening.
  • A 20-something man, “Colin”, seemingly housing-challenged himself, tearfully asked us to pray for people he knew who were struggling with addictions, especially during the holidays. The three of us prayed together for their deliverance, healing, and peace. He accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet.
  • A couple stopped, who also seemed a bit “down on their luck.” They each accepted a Rosary,. The woman then asked for another, for a friend struggling against suicide. We allowed her another one, and gave her a Miraculous Medal as well. The man told evangelist Mike that he was only recently released from prison. As they were leaving, evangelist Lucy overheard the woman tell the man that she had gotten a Rosary for her mom. May God bless them all – and heal them!
  • As we left, a homeless man approached. “I wish I knew how to pray,” he said. We gave him a Rosary, but he refused the brochure. He recognized the Lord’s Prayer and, with prompting, was able to pray it with us. He kept gazing upward at the clouded-over sun. Evangelist Mike asked what he was doing. He said he was “looking at God”. Mike told him the sun was not divine but simply a creation of God, just like us. That surprised the man. “It’s not God?” he kept asking. He didn’t seem to know who Jesus was. Evangelist Lucy again offered him a pamphlet on the Rosary, illustrating the main events in the life of Jesus. He again didn’t accept the pamphlet, and planned to hang his new Rosary on a Christmas tree. Before we took our leave, he asked us to pray the Our Father again for him. God, save him?
  • People generally were in a festive mood. Altogether, we gave away about 15 Rosaries and its booklet, as well as 1 map of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us with their hearts prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort?

The wonders of Creation are meant to lead us to their Creator. So thank you again for your ongoing prayers and other support that helps this apostolate do so, too. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).

People paused for Jesus during the pre-Christmas rush, because our apostolate was there and visible. So thank you again for your prayers and encouragement for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. One evangelist was available last week.
  • A fairly constant drizzle made the whole business square wet, but one man noticed our table was in a dry spot. (God is good!) The man accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet.
  • Several groups of two or more women interrupted their last-minute Christmas shopping to learn about the Rosary. Most of these were non-Catholic Christians. They seemed happy to hear the Jesus’ name and be invited to use the Rosary to focus on His life.
  • One couple declined receiving a free Rosary, then paused and asked if we were taking donations for some cause. When I explained the benefit of praying the Rosary and why we gave them away, they wished us well.
  • A man, dressed in a nice overcoat but apparently homeless, accepted a Rosary and its brochure. He told me he had been moved to tears, a little while earlier, after a tourist family asked him to take a picture of them posing before a scenic view. Most people, he said, treated him with distrust.
  • A man hurrying on his way to work took a moment out to accept a Rosary and my brief explanation of the devotion.
  • One man dropped back from his group of three, and came over to choose a Rosary – a green one.
  • Because the weather was drizzly, there was not much foot traffic. The people who did venture out, though, were generally in a pleasant mood. Altogether, I was able to give away 6-8 Rosaries and its pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? I plan to head downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant the evangelists all they need to reach each priceless soul for Him. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom will come of our effort today.

Turning to God is the most important thing. So thank you again for your ongoing prayers and support that allowed us to be there again last week, offering a reminder of God and His love.

“Proclaim the word; be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient” (2 Tim 4:2).

God loves our enemies, too. So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort.
  • “No, we’re witches”, said the woman dressed in black, accompanied by a perhaps 8-year-old girl. “I’m sorry!” Surprisingly, the woman didn’t seem offended. After they left, I found myself just repeating the Hail Mary for them. It is so heartbreaking! Then, a few minutes later, I saw them again. They had a to-go bag from a nearby restaurant, the girl now sporting its paper crown and logo. They came to our table! The woman told the girl she could have a Rosary, saying, “It’s okay if you want to learn about this.” I gave them a copy of the Rosary pamphlet, too, with pictures and Bible references. Thank you, Blessed Mother! Please rescue them both and lead them securely to freedom in your Son!!!
  • Other encounters were more typical.
  • Near the beginning of the session, a man who slurred his words stopped for a Rosary. Perhaps raised Catholic, he seemed to view the Rosary with a certain fondness. I gave him its pamphlet, too, and encouraged him to actually sit down and pray it.
  • Three family groups stopped, each with 4-6 people. Most of them accepted a Rosary and its how-to guide. I encouraged them to pray it as a family.
  • A man stopped to choose a Rosary. He was not familiar with it, and was not Christian. I explained the Rosary briefly, and also offered him a Good News/kerygma pamphlet, which he accepted. Please pray for him?
  • A couple of teenagers with skateboards stopped. Non-Catholic Christians, they were pleased to learn that the Rosary is about Jesus, and that even non-Catholics find it helpful in their walk with Him. I encouraged them to use the pamphlet to actually pray it.
  • At the end of a session, another man with slurred speech stopped and selected a Rosary. Nominally a member of a pseudo-Christian religion, he took the Rosary brochure once he learned it was about the life of Christ and referred to the Bible. “John” asked us to pray for him for housing because his “wife’s caregivers” don’t seem to like him. I said a quick prayer, asking God’s mercy for John. Then I encouraged him to pray the Rosary for peace.
  • A brief flurry of sleet at the beginning of the session helped me position the table more accurately under the shelter of the convention center’s second-story catwalk. Then the moisture stopped, and there was relatively steady foot traffic. Altogether, I gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as 1 Good News/kerygma pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? At least one evangelist has been taken out of service by a bad cold. But I plan to set up downtown again in just an hour or two from now. Please ask God to send people to us with eyes and hearts open to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

God wants the captives freed, so thank you again for your prayers, words of encouragement, and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and those you love!

Mother of God,

You prayer warriors are amazing! So, thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Three evangelists were available.
  • Fr. Tom, after cancelling earlier in the day due to a bad cold, suddenly felt MUCH better and joined us after all. God is good!
  • Also, we had a first-time evangelist come and try out the apostolate: “Chuck”. He seemed to really enjoy it and people responded well to him.
  • There was a “bridal fair” going on in the convention center near us, so lots of people were coming and going from there. Among them was a group of four women who had just attended the event. One was wearing a sticker that said, “I’m the mom”. Two of the women were wearing sashes declaring, “Bride to Be”. The three younger women each accepted a Rosary. The mom already had one. I encouraged them to pray as a family. The mom then told me of her 93-year-old aunt, a non-Catholic Christian, who has carefully guarded her virginity all these years. May God bless her!
  • A Good News/Kerygma pamphlet went to a 20-something woman, who stepped out of her group of three to accept a Rosary and its pamphlet. When she admitted she wasn’t Christian, I also gave her the one-page summary of the basic Christian message. She then hurried to rejoin her group.
  • A man, wearing an “I’m getting married” sticker, hurriedly accepted a pink Rosary and the Rosary brochure before heading inside the convention center. Perhaps to present it to his lady fair?
  • A man stopped and asked evangelist Chuck what we were doing. Chuck explained the joy of being Catholic. Our visitor, evidently a non-believer, told us he was heading to Spain next week for an extended stay in Andalusia. Evangelist Lucy gave him a quick explanation of the Rosary, and brochures in English and Spanish for him to use. Please pray for him? He’s aware that Catholicism exists, but didn’t really seem interested in its content.
  • A man riding an electric wheelchair stopped. He didn’t want a Rosary or any information about the Catholic Church. He just wanted the phone number for the medical equipment program run by the area-wide Catholic men’s service group. Evangelist Lucy gave him a map of area parishes, which lists the phone numbers for each parish, trusting that the parish office could get him the information he wanted.
  • God granted us sunshine and nearly 50 degrees (in January!) when the three of us started the session. Then, at “closing time”, the sky clouded over and it got noticeably colder. In response, the foot traffic also disappeared, though it had been good earlier. Altogether, we gave away 20-25 Rosaries, 1 copy of the kerygma, and 1 map of area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to set up downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Your prayers make a hugely positive difference. Thank you again! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and those you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).

Remember,
O most gracious Virgin Mary that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, Implored your help, or sought your intercession, was left unaided.

Inspired by this confidence, I fly to you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother.

To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in Thy mercy hear and answer me, Amen.

Sin in their life? Thanks to your ongoing prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort, some people may begin to think about it. Three evangelists were available.
  • A couple stopped. Both man and woman were non-Christian, but seeking. They each accepted a Rosary and its brochure, as well as a copy of the kerygma. Evangelist Mike also set them up with a Catechism. It surprised them that is was also free.
  • A man, “Joshua”, stopped by twice for extended conversation. Evangelist Mike reports: “Joshua was really broken up because a good friend of his, Jared, died a couple of months ago from alcohol overdose. He feels he may die of the same fate. When told that God loves him and that he is very special to the Lord, he seemed genuinely shocked. We said a prayer for his friend that God would be merciful to him and that He would help Joshua overcome his addiction. We directed him to the Cathedral a few blocks down the road, where he could warm up.” He came back, saying he couldn’t get in. Evangelist Chuck resumed the conversation, affirming the goodness of life. We told him which doors were open, but he was too tired to walk that far again. Lord, please help Joshua overcome his addiction and discover your love and mercy.
  • “John”, the elderly man in the motorized wheelchair from last week, monitors the plaza’s parking garage. Happy to be celebrating his 39th year of sobriety, he pulled out his chip to show us. This time, he accepted Rosary and brochure.
  • Evangelist Mike was talking with a couple in their 20s. She had purple hair and picked a rosary that matched. Evangelist Mike, always cutting to the chase, asked if they were married. A blush and a lot of stammering ensued, so he then “jokingly” asked if they were “living in sin” and, if so, the man needed to make an honest woman out of her and give her some security. The evangelist noticed a look of “that would be nice” on the lady. They sheepishly grinned and made a quick exit. Please pray that some good seeds were planted?
  • There was also an encounter with a late-teen or early-20-something man who was smoking. He accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. Then evangelist Mike commented that “when we die, there is only the smoking or non-smoking sections”. He chuckled and said he’d make that a meme for his social media.
  • Altogether, the three evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 3 copies of the kerygma, and 1 copy of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Sin is real, and hurts us all. Sometimes, merely our visible presence reminds people of that; but sometimes we use words. So thank you again, because it’s thanks to your prayers and other ongoing support that this apostolate continues! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and those you love!

St. Michael the Archangel,

defend us in battle.

Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.

May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,

and do thou,

O Prince of the heavenly hosts,

by the power of God,

thrust into hell Satan,

and all the evil spirits,

who prowl about the world

seeking the ruin of souls.

Amen.

There’s still plenty of work in “the vineyard”. So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Two evangelists were available.
  • The man with the subcontinent accent stopped by again (https://streetevangelization.com/boise/2019/01/21/sin-is-real-and-hurts-us-all-2019-01-13/). He still didn’t take a Rosary, but said he valued the pamphlet evangelist Lucy gave him the previous week and would read it soon. He accepted a copy of the one-page presentation of the kerygma this time. He identified as a member of a non-Christian religion, and told us where he worships.
  • A group of teenage boys stopped. One said he was Catholic; another said he was an atheist. The atheist politely accepted the brochure and brief explanation of the Rosary as well as the exhortation to actually pray it. A few moments later, though, evangelist Chuck saw him deposit the pamphlet in the recycle bin. Please pray for our youth!
  • A non-English-speaking family stopped. We had a real language barrier, but they knew the English word, “free”! So each of the four children (10 and under) accepted a Rosary. The dad accepted a Spanish-language copy of the Rosary brochure.
  • Two men, who seemed to have housing challenges, stopped. One declined the offer of the Rosary booklet, but both accepted Rosaries. The first man then came back and apologized for declining the booklet and hoped we hadn’t taken offense. “Of course not! You’re free to take it or not!” He did accept a map of area parishes, and the invitation to check out the tour going on at the historic cathedral a few blocks away.
  • Several people said they already had Rosaries. We try to always ask them to pray it once for us “out here.”
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its booklet, 1-2 maps of area parishes, and one copy of the kerygma. We probably could have also found a good home for a Spanish-language copy of the Bible and of the Catechism, if evangelist in charge of setting up had remembered to bring them.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to set up downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and for His Holy Catholic Church. Please ask Him to grant us evangelists what we need to reach each soul for Him. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort?

Although some people say they have already received a Rosary from us, there are still many people who haven’t discovered Jesus Christ, Who is Truth Itself, and the Church that He founded for us. So again, thank you for your ongoing prayers and other support for this apostolate! In turn, may God protect and bless you and yours!

Extending God’s call to all, spiritually far or near. So thank you so much for your ongoing prayers for this apostolate! Three evangelists were available last time.
  • A very actively Catholic couple stopped. The wife is instrumental in two ongoing ministries in the area for the healing of serious spiritual trauma. We exchanged lists of resources. She also accepted a copy of the Rosary brochure because of its Scripture references for each Mystery. She then asked for a copy each of our pamphlets: “What About Mary?”, “Praying to the Saints”, and “Common Objections”.
  • A Catholic man with an unmarked service dog stopped. Recently moved to the area from a nearby state, he hadn’t connected yet with a parish. He accepted not only a Rosary and its booklet, but a map to area parishes and the invitation to start attending Mass again that very evening.
  • A group of three 20-something men stopped. One led the way in accepting a Rosary and its booklet, which the other two men did, too. Then the first man also accepted a Miraculous Medal. After they heard the story of the medal, the other two men accepted one as well.
  • A group of three women, perhaps in their late teens stopped, enthusiastic to receive a free Rosary. One of them admitted to not being Christian, and she accepted a copy of the kerygma as well, though perhaps a bit reluctantly.
  • A family stopped, consisting of mother, father, and three children under the age of eight. They each accepted a Rosary and the encouragement to pray it together as a family.
  • One man stopped briefly to get a Rosary and its pamphlet. He was heading to a job interview. We said a short prayer with him for his success.
  • A teenage boy with a serious skin problem stopped and got a Rosary and its pamphlet from evangelist Mike. He seemed very pleased to receive them.
  • A woman on a bicycle rode by, but then turned around and accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. Love that!
  • Evangelists Fr. Tom, Mike, and Lucy gave away 20-25 Rosaries and its booklet, as well as one Good News/kerygma pamphlet, 2-3 Miraculous Medals, and a copy each of “What about Mary?”, “Praying to the Saints”, and “Common Objections” pamphlets.
Please pray for us again today? We plan to set up downtown in just a couple of hours from now. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for repentance, their Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

God calls all human beings to Himself, ever closer and closer. So thank you again for your prayers and other support for this apostolate, which allows us to encourage both those spiritually far away and those who are near! In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those you love!

The real competition is for the eternal salvation of souls. So thank you again for your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Our last session was on the day called “Super Bowl Sunday,” a national cultural event
  • A woman with long red hair, perhaps 40 years old, stopped at the beginning of the session to thank us for being out there. She had already received a Rosary and Miraculous Medal from us, and was using them. May God bless all those who encourage us!
  • “John”, a regular visitor, stopped and asked for another copy of the Rosary pamphlet, having lost his first copy. Evangelist Mike visited with him about recovering from addiction and the need for God. John also mentioned a dangerous mental illness diagnosis he had earlier in life. May God continue to bless him and keep him safe!
  • A woman, at the offer of a free Rosary, actually asked for a yellow one, our least popular color. And a gigantically big THANK YOU to a local parish’s Rosary Makers club for donating several dozen Rosaries this week. Today, we’ll be able to offer more than mostly pink and yellow ones! God bless you!
  • Two teenage boys stopped for a free Rosary. One took the rainbow-colored De Colores Rosary that someone had donated. The other chose bright pink. The latter boy said he had attended a local Catholic grade school. They passed by another few times, the “De Colores” boy swinging the Rosary in his hand. Please pray for them?
  • A man, maybe in his early 30s, walked by. Pointing to our street evangelization set up, he kept lisping, “Catholics aren’t supposed to be doing this.” He didn’t stop to explain. God, heal him!
  • An older man overheard us offer a Rosary to a couple walking by and came over to see if he could get one. The couple kept walking but the man gratefully received a Rosary and its pamphlet.
  • A man, in his mid- to late-20s, came by PRAYING THE ROSARY. Evangelist Mike jokingly asked him if he wanted one for the other hand. God bless him!
  • Though it had rained steadily here all morning, by the time we set up, the ground (and the seats at the picnic tables) were dry. Overall, though, foot traffic was fairly light, since pre-game activities were already going on.
  • Altogether, the two evangelists gave away 8-10 Rosaries and pamphlet. Mike’s daughter also came, planning to learn how to make Rosaries for us.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us who perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

In a culture lionizing self-indulgence, and on a day encouraging it more than most, the Good News about Jesus Christ and the real purpose of life is still being offered. So thank you again! Your prayers, support, and other sacrifices make a hugely positive difference! In turn, may God protect and bless you and those you love!

Heartbreak and hope: another day in the Lord’s Vineyard, thanks to your ongoing prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Three evangelists took part.
  • “Mary”, who “used to be” Catholic, stays in a women’s shelter and attends a non-Catholic Christian church. She happily received a Rosary and pamphlet. Then she saw the Miraculous Medals and asked for one. Evangelist Chuck gave her the card with its brief description. Then she asked for a scapular, which we also gave her.
  • A man came to the table thanking us for being out in the cold doing God’s work. He suddenly teared up and asked for prayers for his friend “Bobby” who has cancer. Fr. Tom led the brief prayer. Our visitor’s personal belief system seemed a bit muddled, but he was grateful for our prayers. May the Lord restore him to faith, and his friend to health.
  • A 30-something man veered off his path when evangelist Chuck offered him a Rosary. He came to the table, saying, “A Rosary. That sounds appropriate right now.” He added, “Yes, maybe it’s time. I don’t have much left.” Chuck asked what he meant, but he didn’t answer. Lucy briefly explained the Rosary. Then Fr. Tom told him that praying the Rosary will help him get closer to God. He replied, “I’m going to be seeing Him real soon,” and then walked away. Please pray for his safety, healing, and restoration of hope?
  • One out of a group of teenagers said “yes” to a Rosary, and that brought all the others to the table. When evangelist Chuck asked the leader if he was a Christian, he said yes, he had been baptized in another country. His immigrant grandparents insisted he be baptized in the “old country,” so the whole family traveled there for the baptism. He was only a baby, so he knows about it through family stories.
  • Two brothers stopped. Asked if they were believers, the older one said they belonged to a pseudo-Christian sect. The team encouraged them to pray the Rosary, and let the Mysteries draw them closer to Jesus Christ. They politely thanked us, then returned the way they came. May these young men continue seeking the true Faith.
  • Foot traffic was light, but we received about 90% “yes” to 10% “no”! So we gave away the typical number of Rosaries: 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, 1 Miraculous Medal, 1 brown scapular, and 1 copy of the “Good News/kerygma” pamphlet.
Please pray for us again today? Ask God to send people to us, prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior and His Church, that He grant the evangelists all we need to reach each soul for Him, and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s efforts.

Often we feel heartbreakingly powerless when we encounter people without hope, or who don’t even perceive their need for Jesus. Sometimes, all we can do is entrust our concern to Him. And that’s no little thing! So thank you again for your prayer and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).

P.S. Space is limited here, so please see our blog for the rest of the stories (and, of course, a new photo of the team in action).

Our mission continues, thanks to your ongoing prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. A near-record number of evangelists (4) were available.
  • A pastor of a non-Catholic Christian congregation had two children with him, each less than 6 years old. The man greeted us as his “Catholic brothers”. He allowed his daughter to select a Rosary for “Mimi”, her Catholic grandmother. Then the boy selected a Rosary for himself. The minister feels warmly toward the Catholic Church because he discovered that she has “an extra 1600 years of experience in the Christian walk”. However, he doesn’t see how he himself can become Catholic since his sole source of income is from being a non-Catholic minister. Please pray for him?
  • A woman who works at a local Catholic school stopped, along with her husband and two boys under 10 years of age. The mother prays the Rosary every day in the chapel. Evangelist Lucy encouraged her to also start praying the Rosary regularly with her family, perhaps at her boys’ bedtime. Each boy chose a Rosary for himself. Their mom said they already had “lots of Rosary booklets” at home.
  • A couple in their mid-20s stopped. They each accepted a Rosary and its pamphlet. Already Christian, they weren’t connected with any faith community. So we set them up with a map of area parishes and encouraged them to check us out.
  • Two Catholic men passed us, then circled back to our table for a Rosary. Evangelist Lucy discovered that one of them wasn’t actively practicing his Faith. He gladly accepted a copy of our map with Mass times. She pointed out the thumbnail photo of the parish where he had attended Christmas Mass, and drew his attention to the Sunday evening Mass there that very evening.
  • There is a possibly housing-challenged man, whom I have thought of for years as “Circling Man” since his exercise circuit repeatedly crosses “our” business park. He passed us at least three times during our last session. He had gotten into the habit of not even acknowledging us. But evangelist Chuck has really drawn him out, and he even began to talk and laugh with him each time he went by.
  • Three pre-teen boys were speeding by on their bicycles: one out in front, followed by the other two. One of the latter heard the key word “FREE” and slammed on his brakes. Both he and the boy with him then accepted a Rosary and its booklet. Their companion watched from a distance.
  • The four (!) evangelists (Fr. Tom, Chuck, Mike, Lucy) gave away 15-20 Rosaries and its pamphlet, as well as 2 maps to area parishes.
Please pray for us again today? Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask God to grant that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes of today’s effort.

New people encounter us; Catholics feel encouraged; relationships are formed. So, thanks for your ongoing prayer and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and yours!

Even when most people stay home, still God sends people to us, thanks to your prayers for Boise’s Catholic street evangelization effort. Four evangelists were available last week.
  • A man, perhaps in his late 20s, stopped. He complained of losing his home due to gang stalking, though things are slightly better now that he is staying in a shelter. We circled up and Fr. Tom led us in prayer for him and his situation. Besides the Rosary and its booklet, he also accepted a blessed St. Benedict medal.
  • A non-Christian man from another continent was in town for the conference going on near us. He accepted a Rosary and its booklet, as well as a copy of our one-page presentation of the kerygma, that is, the basic Christian message from a Catholic point of view.
  • An older woman trudged by, loaded down with grocery bags. She never acknowledged us nor our greetings. Fr. Tom led us in prayer for her afterwards, especially for strength in carrying her heavy cross.
  • An evidently housing-challenged man, missing many of his front teeth, was riding by on a bicycle. He stopped long enough to receive a Rosary and the pamphlet on how to pray it.
  • A young woman who heard the word “free” came over and got a Rosary and its pamphlet.
  • Some people accepted a Rosary, but not its booklet. One of these said he was already Catholic.
  • The drizzly February weather reduced amount of foot traffic. Still, the four evangelists gave away 6-8 Rosaries, 4-5 booklets describing the devotion, 1 copy of the kerygma pamphlet, and 1 St. Benedict medal.
Please pray for us again today? We’re attempting to extend our session this week by starting slightly earlier. Please ask God to send people to us prepared to perceive their need for Our Savior Jesus Christ and the Catholic Church. Please ask Him to grant us evangelists all we need to reach each one for Him and that much good fruit for His Kingdom comes from our effort today.

Each soul is irreplaceable and we’re privileged to be there and even join together in prayer for some of them. So thank you again so much for your ongoing prayers and other support for this apostolate. In turn, may God protect and greatly bless you and all those whom you love!

“Go with the strength you have” (Judg 6:14).
