They are being sold by a private individual and not by Ticketmaster, and not by TD Garden (where the event supposedly would take place.) Just because something is offered on Ebay doesn’t mean its legitimate.

A quick check of the TD Garden website will show that Fr. Corapi’s speaking engagement for August 6th is cancelled.

You should always be very careful about anything on the internet, so many scams.

Nice commentary by Deacon Greg:

the way I understand it was that Fr.Corapi was accused of something which he denied doing and the Church suspended him during the allegations till the matter was cleared up.i don’t know why its taking so long to come to a decision but I feel Fr.should just be patient .Its difficult but why leave?A dedicated priest isn’t suppose to leave.FR.Pio had all kinds of restrictions put on him but He would never have thought of leaving.i don’t understand Fr.Corapi.Did they ever finish his case?

Isn’t it nice that everyone knows what Fr. Corapi ‘needs’ without knowing all the facts.

Honestly, i`m sickened by the majority reaction!
i just hope that, at this very moment, Father Corapi is (physically) in the company of loyal friends.

Well, whether the accuser did it or not, it seems very easy for any real investigator to find out…this wouldn’t have been a long investigation especially if Father helped by giving things to his superiors or even paying for some of it. This isn’t a savvy woman, he portrays her as a lost soul.

I have to believe it’s not as bad as he makes it seem and so easy to disprove or it’s a smear job for her…I haven’t heard anything from the other side other than a letter was written. I hope no matter what happens to his vocation, this chapter of it ends soon.
I agree. All of this stuff seems easily verifiable so that in a matter of a few days the truth should’ve emerged.

We haven’t heard a word from anybody else except when they needed to issue a statement regarding Corapi’s public ministry. It seems to me that this whole firestorm has been fueled by Corapi himself. Probably 95% of what any of us know has come from him. He has decried the whole process and how unfair it has been to him, but yet out of all the participants in this drama his is the only voice to have been heard so far.

Fr. Corapi preached the the fullness of The Gospel. Angels, demons, Hell, Heaven, Purgatory, evils of contraception and abortion, relativism, the Mercy of God, The Eucharist and so on.
All his preaching was orthodox, fearless and up front.
The message was conversion and all the escape routes were shut off. You either accepted Jesus Christ, and His Mystical Body - The Church, as The Way, The Truth and The Life or you didn’t.

This seems to ruffle feathers. Who will rid us of this “troublesome” priest!

If you can silence this powerful, orhtodox and “troublesome” priest on the basis of what appears to be a flimsy, unsubstantiated and mischievous complaint, then you are most certainly sounding the death knell for the priesthood. Only God can rectify that situation!

Many priests have been silenced with this technique.
This is effectively an ultimatum to all priests - STOP preaching certain parts of The Gospel or else!

I submit that this has little to do with the messenger, who is without doubt a sinner - else he calls God a liar.

I hope this makes you angry, justifiably angry, just like Fr. Corapi is.

Old red legs is having a field day.

What if the complaint is true? Should SOLT just ignore them or should they check them out?

We have only heard Fr. Corapi’s side of the story. How do you know that the case is flimsy or unsubstantiated or mischievous? Without being an insider who has seen the complaint and had a chance to investigate, you can’t know any of that.

Peace

Yes and no. His job is mainly to represent the Holy Father to the US government, investigate priests nominated for bishop or monsignor, and work with the local bishops on issues of concern to the Holy Father. He is not normally an overseer of the administrative decisions.
While Fr. Corapi is known to many people around here, ultimately in the grand scheme of the universal church he’s a just one more spoke in the wheel like the rest of us. The idea that the Papal Nuncio is going to go out of his way to personally take up Fr. Corapi’s cause seems to me to be rather far fetched. However, I guess, stranger things have happened.

But, let’s face it, when Fr. Corapi himself refuses to appeal his process to Rome then its highly unlikely the Holy Father is going to swoop in to his defense…
I know what his job is. My point is that due to his position, he is in direct communication with the Holy Father or someone close to him. So if anyone has the ability to get information to the powers that be in Rome without going through normal channels, it would be him.

In addition, while I agree that it is unlikely that the Nuncio is going to fly the banner for Father Corapi, having your server crash due to getting 5 thousand e-mails in a day and a half or having your phone ring off the hook has a way of making people do things that they otherwise would not consider doing.

I find the whole idea unseemly myself…

There is one thing that has bothered me about this whole matter. Corapi is a good preacher and teacher. However, if you read his statements carefully, there are many ambiguous sections. This is obvious from all the discussion and misunderstandings on this thread.

I don’t pretend to know, but people are claiming, with good reason, contradictory things. It would have been very easy for Fr. to clear this up. His career has been one of making things easier to understand. I had thought by his second or third published statements that he would address some of the murkier areas - areas that he made murky to begin with. Instead, we get him saying he will post recordings of the accuser.

His actions are quite suspicious, but he brought it all on himself by saying what he did, how he did.

Let’s say that he is guilty of the accusations… His ‘fans’ all know of the Prodigal Son, of sin and temptation, of the attacks of Satan on God’s priests, etc. Of course he would be forgiven and still retain his standing if he had stumbled. If he’s not guilty, and many prefer to believe he is not, then his ‘fans’ would all wait patiently for the mess to be cleared up.

So, none of this makes any sense to me. But I do know that he is not helping his case with his lack of clarity. And it also seems that many of the people he is accusing (those in the Church and those investigating) cannot defend themselves in the court of public opinion. One - these things should NOT be played out this way, and two - they ‘accused’ do not have the following. His actions are demeaning the whole process, and I say this as someone who follows ‘These Stone Walls’ and has donated to Fr. MacRae.

loyalty…
That and obedience is what is missing.

Some people have wondered why a total non-disclosure contract would be implemented and compensated for and why a priest would need one. After reading some of the most recent developments it came to me. Celebrities (which Fr Corapi is one, within Catholic circles) get them to protect against unauthorized biographies.

Father Corapi has helped me grow in my faith with his insight into the teachings of the Catholic Church, in his early days of preaching, not so much in the last couple of years. For me he seemed to change. I am so sad at what has taken place in the last few months.
I wish now (Father) John would listen to some of his own sermons and take his own advice," Let go and Let God " as he used to tell us often.

Thank you Dale_M,

I was not sure. I just searched ‘Corapi’ on Ebay and was surprised to find tickets for sale. The seller is legit. It must have been canceled very recently. I don’t know that he is even aware of the cancellation. I sent him an email asking for the exact date of cancellation. Just wondering.

Here’s a couple of other interesting pieces of trivia.

In my previous post, I mentioned that theblacksheepdog.com was registered to somebody else in Kingfish Montana. The individual to whom it is registered has an e-mail address of ****@flatheadmedia.net (asterisked out since he is not a public person). This domain is owned by the same folks who flatheadmedia.com.

If you go to flatheadmedia.com and browse around a bit, you will find that they did a lot of marketing development for, guess who, Santa Cruz Media.

For example:
easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/473/3080693399.jpg
easycaptures.com/fs/uploaded/473/2467574545.jpg

Lots of more examples on the site.

No problems, so far.

You will remember that I showed that www.theblacksheepdog.com redirected to onlinecatholicnetwork.com? Guess who owns the domain onlinecatholicnetwork.com? Same person.

Remember hearing about that ebay auction for Fr Corapi’s Rosary (the one blessed by Pope Bl JPII?) Guess who the seller is? His user ID is “flatmatt07”. Flathead media? Guess what the first name of the registrant for “theblacksheepdog.com” and “onlinecatholicnetwork.com” is?

And by the way, monthly subscriptions to the “Online Catholic Network” are available:

There are insufficient dots out there to connect, but this is getting interestinger and interestinger every minute…
Interesting, indeed.
It does not seem all clean to have done media work for someone and end up with the dot com of an upcoming presentation. Then have it link to a new website with a totally different name so as to get the traffic going to Father Corapi. Not clean at all.

Why would someone do that, especially to a priest? Was it that he, Matt Sprinkler, the one to suggest the name blacksheepdog or is he another disgruntled employee that feels was thown out like yesterday’s garbage? He has some celebrities on his website 'Online Catholic Network " such as Doug Berry, Patrick J. Reilly and amongst others; Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers.

All this can be found with some google fu…I have no inside info.

The rosary sellers and long-time employees are most likely:

Tamra Sexton (sometimes Sexton-Sprinkle) and her husband Matthew Sprinkle (Matthew Bryan Sprinkle, Bryan Matthew Sprinkle)

onlinecatholicnetwork.com/interact/community/groups/viewdiscussion/38-Praying+the+Rosary+as+a+new+Catholic.html?groupid=14

Whether they are the accuser(s), I do not know. But the husband has a mugshot online and police reports of binge drinking and battery.

I don’t know one way or the other.

One thing that I have tried really hard to do is to minimize my speculation on things I don’t know and can’t verify somehow.

Regarding your comment:

*Was it that he, Matt Sprinkler, the one to suggest the name blacksheepdog or is he another disgruntled employee that feels was thown out like yesterday’s garbage?
*Do you have something where Corapi has derided “onlinecatholicnetwork dot com”? If so, could you please provide me a link?

I haven’t seen anything along those lines.

There seems to be all kind of personal pictures of Fr C on this website so there’s defiantly a tie with this domain and Corapi for sure. I can’t say its a good one or not

There was exactly one case against him and the charges were dropped. I would suggest before making such an allegation that you’d do your research first.

markomalley,

What caught my attention is that the traffic from blacksheepdog.com is being directed to onlinecatholicnetwork.com and Father Corapi is using blacksheepdog.us instead of the preferred dot com. This could be because the media company decided to keep it and may not offer it to Father Corapi or Father Corapi will be participating with the website that is using the dot com. :shrug:This we will find out sooner or later and the dust settles.
