Haha, I know! :rotfl:

Yeah, in November I went to a 3-day retreat that he was in charge of (it was SO fun!), and that’s when I first met him (and his dog, Rudy!). I actually hope to work the next retreat since I know he’s going to be working at it again.

A couple weeks ago I went to his “What More Could He Do For You?” talk, which was wonderful even though I’d already seen it once before.

I also get the chance to speak with him somewhat often…I believe the last time was Monday evening.

Have you been to any yourself?
Speaking of how God works. I had emailed Fr. Larry to tell him something (cannot recall what right now) but he emailed me back and told me that he would be in my area (O’Fallon, Missouri -that is in St. Louis) for a 4 day Mission that weekend.

Well I had a chance to make it to 3 of the 4 days and even introduced myself to him. He was very nice and took the time to talk to me. When I told him that I was the one that had emailed him, he told me that he was (literally) ready to walk out the door to travel to MO from PA when he checked his email one last time, received my message and emailed me back. WOW! It was awesome to meet him. He even threw my name in on one of his talks.

But he was very nice to myself and my wife and our children when he met us. We drove about 30 minutes plus to be there for the mission. Unfortunately, I missed one night, but was blest to have been at the other 3. I keep looking to see if he will be around again soon, so far, not luck.

That would be so amazing to be there to go to the retreats and the talks. I have downloaded several things from his website and the talk “What more could He do for you” is very emotional, very powerful. I can only imagine seeing it in person.

I do actually have the mission on VHS as well, I need to watch that again.

Thank you so much for starting this thread. I have one CD
of his from the Mary Foundation and it is great to see his
website. I was very happy to see that he will be in my area
in September and I am hoping I will be able to see him.
It must be awesome to have him as your pastor! 🙂

If you have a chance to go see him, I HIGHLY recommend it!

Is he doing a mission in your area or just a talk?

I have been a bad Catholic and not going to Mass (I know, I know!)

Clicking the youtube links that were back in the thread gave me the kick in the pants I needed. In fact, I think I may head over to 24 hour adoration at Church (yes, St. Joes… I know, how could I fall away with Fr. Larry as my pastor?!)

That just gave me chills. I will pray for you. Talk to Fr. Larry if you have a chance.

As a new Catholic I was recently introduced to his CDs from the Mary Foundation.

Confession blew me away! (I had no idea there were so many possibilities for sin ) and The mass Explained and the Eucharist. All of them are awesome.👍

You should check out his website www.thereasonforourhope.org and if you sign up for it (for FREE) you can get a free download of “The Turth” and you can listen to his homilies there too.

Thank God for Fr. Larry Richards!!

Hi-

I am bumping this thread which I just found thru a search.

I was priviledged to have seen Fr. Larry today at a men’s conference. He really made an impact on me. I was blessed to have been there.

I hope more people become familiar with him. I need to order his CDs and share them with family and friends (although it’s just not the same as being there- what energy!)

**Hi IMAbeliever! I am Mirror Mirror’s wife, and I, too, love Fr. Larry Richards!

He is coming to our town in a few weeks for a men’s conference, DH is going and I am sooooo jealous! 😃 I’m sure it’ll be awesome for him though. 👍 **

Thanks for the reply-

we are looking into having Fr. Larry lead a mission at our parish next year. I am wondering how much it will cost?? But I know we’d get a big draw. He really has a gift!🙂

It’s free. Donations are asked for, but you don’t have to pay to get in, cause it’s held in the Church.

I guess I was thinking how much the parish would need to pay for him to travel, meals, accomodations, stipend, etc…

I understand the attendees do not have to pay, although a collection is customary.

I would still think the parish would incur some expenses and be prepared to cover that amount.

He is GREAT!!! This thread was started 4 years ago and is still going strong!

A friend of mine brought some copies of his talks to TMIY! (That Man Is You!) meetings last year and I barely got around to listening to the first CD today!

AWESOME!!! It blew me away and it’s all I’ve been thinking about since I stopped listening to it 4 hours ago.

I cannot wait to hear more of his talks. I agree with the previous comment that is he is right up there with Father Corapi!👍

I actually am amazed that the thread keeps popping up. 👍 I have heard most all of Fr. Larry’s talks, but not this one. I wish that there was some way to get a hold of it.

For me, I like to listen to him more than Fr. Corapi.

I didn’t go throught the whole thread, so I apologize if this is a repeat, but Fr. Larry also has a podcast (actually his homilies) you can access through iTunes. I think you can put them on any MP3 player, but I’m not that technologically smart. They are sometimes sporadic, but often worth it.

I have to admit though, that the best podcast homilies are word on fire, by Fr. Baron.

It just gives me great hope for our Church and our nation to have such wonderful priests–these are only two, but there are so many more–many who don’t podcast, aren’t on EWTN, or Catholic radio–but just good holy men doing their job, and bringing us the Sacraments. I am especially seeing it in the new young priests–faithful to the Magesterium.

Let’s keep praying for Fr. Larry, Fr. Baron, Fr. Corapi, our own parish priest, and all those men who have answered God’s call and need our prayers!

I went to hear him speak for an evening several months ago and he was AWESOME! Not sure what his fee is for a mission, but the talk he gave - freewill collection was taken up for him. He is 1- 1 1/2 hour drive away though.

I hope he does a mission in my area as I would definately attend.

FYI - he just published a book on male spirituality titled “Be a Man” and the reviews have been terrific. He has a Facebook page and also the Reason for Our Hope" has a facebook page.

When my personal life gets out of whack - I listen to Fr Richards’ CD on confession to get get my head back on straight before I go to my priest for confession. He IS awsome!

LOVE that talk! (then again, I love all of his talks)

I am a big fan of his book “Be a Man!”
