I remember eating this type of salad.

It’s like a potato salad to me.
 
My family usually makes it for Christmas dinner. I never liked it much. Not a big fan of mayonnaise.
 
I grew up eating my mother’s braunschweiger sandwiches which had mayonnaise. She made the mayonnaise herself.

Homemade mayonnaise is much tastier than commercial.

Yes, I think you could say a potato salad is a simplified form of Russian salad, in which the number and variety of ingredients is reduced to a minimum.
 
Fraternal twins or identical twins?

If fraternal, this could be due to IVF technology which was developed around this time frame.

That reminds me of something I was told in Brazil, many years ago. If you suspect you may have diabetes, there’s a quick and reliable — and cost-free — way to find out. First, find an ants’ nest. Then urinate on the ground, a few feet away from it. If your urine attracts the ants, you have diabetes. If they leave it alone, you’re okay.

That makes perfect sense. One of the ways to tell in a hospital if a patient is diabetic is to see if he emits a fruity smell. If his breath smells fruity, he’s diabetic. So, it stands to reason that ants would be attracted to the urine of one who has diabetes, as ants are attracted to sweet tastes and smells.

🤣 I have two cats, so you will have to be the scientist here. I don’t think #1 is as vital to dogs being N-S as it is the other “number”. For some reason, dogs like being N-S for #2. Let us know if what the research keeps finding is true.

Here at home it should be quite easy to check. As often as not, the dogs use the gravel path that leads from our front door to the gate. The path lies almost exactly on an east-west axis. This morning I was only able to observe one dog in the act, and she was facing directly away from me, i.e. due west. It’ll take a few days to compile enough statistics to start drawing conclusions.
 
Didn’t know about that.

I thought it was bananas 🍌 that was the most popular fruit.
