Better watch out for those chilly dingos’…they might be copying the polar bears and moose who come into town looking for food because our air came in…yes, they were going to tax our air we breathe…bad for those with kids…heard someone in Seattle say someone approached them with their 3 kids accusing them of taking ‘their air’…those are the zero’s…zero population…and the earth belongs to them…

Can you get an idea of what I have had to live with for over 30 years???

Angel Gabriel pray for us.

So there is no climate change where you live and no effects of pollution?
Where i live is pretty good but some of our capital city’s are smoggy and the pollution is causing health issues.
You government is spreading this so they can tax you more?
In our parish we do not spread conspiracy theories without proof. We accept yes there is corruption in Government and advocate against it.
We respect civil authority and work with it.
This is the position of The Catholic Church or your personal one?
Our Catholic parish is working at being pro active in climate change issues and consider reducing our carbon footprint and use of rivers.
We see it as working with our Catholic schools who educate our children on global warming.

The last days are drawing close, i encourage people don’t waste the precious gift of life you have been given, by giving it to theories without personal or divine knowledge.

I have seen many news articles and investigated some papers on global warming but not being a scientist in this field trust in the collective opinion of scientific communities in this field.

Hamba,

I am glad to know that you are reading the Gospels…but by what source? Which Bible?

I am not one to tolerate falsehoods or half truths very much, because doing so always brings unnecessary suffering to mankind, even the smallest omission or insertion into the approved Bible makes tremendous changes that damage us…

Good example: Sola Scriptura. And their Bible versions are not the reflection of the oral tradition passed by Jesus Christ through His apostles to the Early Church Fathers and all the way down to today…Luther said ‘we are saved by faith “alone”’. No need for church, individual interpretation, so then we have great scandals in Christianity…divorce, remarry to multiple partners, contraception that destroys future generations and facilitates promiscuity and adultery and sexual diseases.

Or you see atheists making fun of people who believe in God, but they worship reason without God and making science and man god…the greatest sin is found in the garden of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit so they could be like gods…It is called Pride.

Do you know the atheists believe in Global Warming and contraception like these are some kind of religion…and now it is coming out Global warming is faulty science but a tool to get tax money from us, or that people are now seeing what contraception and the free sex culture has done to society?..Atheists have their beliefs about society, and many times they do more damage than people who ‘believe in myths’.

I mean, I read a post someone researched and more people have died under state governments than religion.

But back to interpreting Scripture…

Interpreting the Word of God without the Holy Spirit is playing god with it. People want to read what fills their carnal needs be it pride, superiority, carnal desire, you name it. Not good.

I am certainly not meaning you do that, but individuals who have taken Sacred Scriptures, rewritten them with different context, led people into new churches and assemblies with the subsequent, nurturing loss of the sacraments for this life and the possible loss of life in the next with Christ, and causing wars and hatred with what the Word of God was meant to be…

I mean that for all these leaders who have created new religions or new forms of Christianity using the true believers’ Scriptures. Not good.

How many people have died because of the misinterpretation of the Word of God Made Flesh?!! Not good. People being killed over the Sacred Word of God meant to give us New Life. No good this killing…

blessings!

The alternative to the New World Order that I would propose is the establishment of Sharia law for the whole world… but since this is most likely not possible, at least for the foreseeable future, then I believe that applying Sharia principles in the way Muslim countries do business with one another and going back to the system of using gold and silver as money like during the time of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the succeeding caliphates, would most certainly throw a spanner in the works of the elite’s desire in establishing a global government.

Anyhow, back to the topic of the thread, the problem that Muslims face in discussing scripture with Christians is that they are using a different yardstick when measuring what is the Truth.

For Muslims, the Qur’an is the primary source of Truth which cannot ever be overruled by anyone… whereas for Christians, the Church and not the Bible is what they turn to in order to obtain definitive truth.

Like I have mentioned previously in another thread, I would say that it is not Christians but rather Muslims who would have the greatest faith in the ‘face value’ truth of the Bible.

What are you going to propose next with your sharia law, perhaps a “chop-chop square” like they have in Saudi Arabia which is part of SA sharia law.

Like the poster above me said… No thanks!

Oh great - let us bring barbaric practices to the whole world in how we deal with each other. Enslave people, or if they accept the jizya tax then subjugate them to islam. Stone gays, women, etc if they don’t follow some half baked rule about how they should live. Cut off tongues, hands, and feet if they don’t follow some other half baked rules. Let Jihadists terrorize people just because they think they can only get their behinds on a fast path into their heaven by no other means.

Or how about the slave market they have in Medina?

Let our ‘charity’ go to finance the Jihadists so they can terrorize non-muslims. Maybe we can sell canes and whips on the open market for beating the women too! Instead of letting people go - or as Christians do and forgive them - for committing some perceived crime, or dishonor, let us just go and ‘honor kill’ them.

I could go on but the idea of Sharia laws being practiced by anyone is like wondering when are they going to wake up and realize how barbaric and putrid they are.

I don’t want to forget that any pact made with Muslims is considered non-binding by Muslims. That goes back to Mohammed and how he kept his pacts. He didn’t - he lied to people.

Hamba, now look what happened!!!

We went from Gabriel and Mary and Muhammed to global warming and the hoax…heard more tonight pretty much saying the same, how the media is ignoring it but it is cyberspace and the internet that is getting the facts out…

Then we talk a little about the conspiracies of the secularists…glad we are all on the same page here…and then we end up with Sharia law and the usual freak out.

How can we get this back to Gabriel?

Anyone notice that this “Gabriel” in the Qu’ran was described to have had a
“dreaful voice” -? Hm… coff coff SaTaN! coff coff

Stephen…

I just read on Drudge Report that 31,000 scientists’ petition opposing global warming was brushed off by present administration…

And, now we are hearing about the wrestling Gabriel having a rough voice…not like the one who came to Mary…

Come now, Hamba, How much farther can you go…it doesn’t fit the image of what we have of angels…Gabriel growled like a polar bear??? or a dingo…??? And he wrestled like may be those wrestlers we see in America on TV? Boy, some rough dude!

What does the Holy Bible say about Gabriel’s visits?

In NIV version of Holy Bible, Book of Luke chapter 1:11 onwards describes about his visit to Zechariah.

11Then an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing at the right side of the altar of incense. 12When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. 13But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John.

Than further down

The Birth of Jesus Foretold

26In the sixth month, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, 27to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. 28The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”
29Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. 30But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. 31You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 32He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, 33and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."

So what does Quran say about Gabriels visit to mohammed? oh gosh its really fearful, Mohammed was thrashed three times and told to read something which he could not read, So was that angel gabriel or someone else? 🙂

So there is no climate change where you live and no effects of pollution?
Nope! None! Nada! Global warming is a hoax. My degree is in atmospheric physics. I’ve been a professional meteorologist for 30 years.

I have been a regular viewer of people like Alex Jones myself.

The alternative to the New World Order that I would propose is the establishment of Sharia law for the whole world… but since this is most likely not possible,
Jesus would never let Islam take over the world. So you’re right…Sharia law is not possible. Praise God for that.

Hamba,

You are good to come here and share.

Yesterday I freaked out because we now have new electrical meter installed on our house that will be more than just monitoring electricity!..water, gas, etc…and one of my clients told me that her daughter when questioning the politics, was told to be quiet or else face termination…

I pray that the people of the world come together to fight the new world order…and that I already know that in time God will deliver us from the enemy…

Now next to Hamba’s suggestion…

Hamba,

We as Catholics and as human beings can’t have Sharia here. First, Sharia allows men to commit immorality by having multiple wives.

Then Sharia commits injustice when a woman’s witness of truth is denied because she is alone. Sharia commits injustice when women can’t own property.

Sharia is evil when a mother’s children are not considered her own…especially mother who is the primary teacher and lover of her children. Shame on such treatment of God’s highest and final creation – woman.

(And yes, I know old Eve has raised up her head to lead many women away from their sacred calling to a life of debauchery.)

Sharia is merciless…it has no faith, no beilef, no hope. Criminals are treated mercilessly. They are treated as if they can never change and become better. We have criminals in prison who become Christians, meet Jesus and turn their lives around…maybe for worse crimes stated in Sharia…We always have hope.

True justice always is connected to true mercy.

Sharia says it is OK to kill the infidel. Just in the past two days the Catholic church in Iraq was completely destroyed, but thankfully the Dominican sisters were not hurt. Sharia condones the destruction of non-Muslim places.

Sharia has their men wear white clothes that reflect the sun, but make the women wear black that keeps the heat in. Black clothes make the women look demonic, like they came out of some Western horror show during Halloween.

We see alot of Sharia justice in Saudi Arabia…I tend to look to Saudi Arabia because I see it the ‘Rome of Islam’…the center of Islam. So it reveals the true essence of Islam…and Muhammed originated in Saudi Arabia…

I read some passages from a book, written by Oriani Fallaci, who quoted a witness who saw an execution in Saudi Arabia. There were about 20,000 holy Muslim women dressed in black. There were men down below and they were executed in the field. The women started chanting, came down from the grandstands, and began walking around the stadium field. They came to the bodies of the men. They continued chanting and walking, and they finished the job, the 20,000 black robed women, trampling the men to death.

Finally, in 1994 or 5, I had a terrible dream. I was with my two children and my girlfriend who was so kind and gentle. We were at the park of my childhood, grassy with many tall, old trees. It was in the summer, sunny, with a slight breeze, perfect weather. Beautiful.

Then we noticed foreigners coming in wearing long, white robes. They looked at us with a cold, distant look. They came out to the play area. They began circling. Our position was one of benevolence and tolerance. They started to chant. Then in the next moment, I saw a hand have a knife, very clean, and it was placed under clean, cool running water with the full sun shining on it, not revealing any dirt or impurities.

Then I realized that this was a purity ritual…somebody was going to be sacrificed. I became afraid. I looked out and the crowd chanted, the white purity clothes, the closening of the eyes that glinted at me, became closer. They began to come closer to us, the circle getting smaller. Then all of a sudden they lunged at us.

I immediately woke up with a deep pain, experiencing a knife go into my heart. I literally rose up out of my bed gasping…

And then about 2,000, what I saw beginning to happen in the Muslim world, they now coming to attack us…I see this dream was a warning of what was coming to our country and the world…

This false and violent Gabriel, the people in desert clothes masking as pure holy people, hiding knives, and…Sharia law…I see this all the work of the devil.

You can’t say this aspect of Muslim religion is good or true. You look at the Gospels, but they are wrong. They were distorted by Muhammed and his followers to destroy the truth and image of the one true Lord, Jesus Christ.

Your culture is not Jewish. It is not Christian. So it cannot have the truth of Salvation History that comes to us from the Jews through Jesus Christ.

Yet the story of the inmate (usually African American, for some reason) who goes to prison and converts to Islam is also well-known enough in the USA to really be a cliche by this point. I wonder why that is? I think it would be simplistic to say that Islam attracts a criminal element, but from what I’ve seen it has certainly successfully positioned itself as the “non-white man’s” religion to Christianity’s unfortunate denigration as the religion of the colonizing European (as though Christianity came to Western Europe before Ethiopia, Sudan, Egypt, Algeria, etc!). But I digress…
Sharia has their men wear white clothes that reflect the sun, but make the women wear black that keeps the heat in. Black clothes make the women look demonic, like they came out of some Western horror show during Halloween.
I think this is a cultural thing. You’re certainly entitled to your opinion as to what looks best, but I wouldn’t call a black abaya “demonic” looking, and there are so many places around the world where Islamic dress is just as colorful as native dress (indeed, many places where there is no such distinction, as Islam has supplanted the native ways). When I was in college, the most immaculately dressed women were usually the local Muslims, who were international students from Iran, Iraq, etc.
We see alot of Sharia justice in Saudi Arabia…I tend to look to Saudi Arabia because I see it the ‘Rome of Islam’…the center of Islam. So it reveals the true essence of Islam…and Muhammed originated in Saudi Arabia…
I have been told by Muslim posters here that if you’re looking for an Islamic equivalent to the Vatican, the closest that you’ll find is probably Al Azhar University in Cairo, not anywhere in Saudi Arabia. Apparently, Saudis are good if you want an ultra-literalist interpretation of everything, but outside of the holy cities and the more cosmopolitan port cities (e.g., Jeddah), there’s not a lot there to get excited about. Of course, I’ve never been…

I also intended to add, Sharia does not enable a good economic system.

Sharia worked with forces to throw out the use of reason that was developed by ancient Arab scholars who drew on Plato, Socrates and other scholars.

Then Islamic countries became the poorest, most violent cultures for hundreds of years, constantly at war with other people.

This poverty and nomad lifestyle continued all the way up until the British came to Palestine, for better or worse…and the discovery of oil.

Now oil could be running out, and then sharia has no economic system to create new prosperty unless it returns to take over other countries in brutal manner.

In Lebanon, the Muslims were always so jealous of the prosperity of Christian men. Well, the Christian men lived moral life styles…they had to always explain that they had only one wife and children to care for.

Sharia makes bad economy, bad treatment of women, bad treatment of foreigners, and promotes vice in its own men. Not good.

Best system is a democracy, a free market, and a strong moral voice which today has systematically been pushed aside by the secular forces.

You cannot impose a legal system that originated from a desert (very different geography and ecology) of nomadic people and impose its manner of dress and behavior on the world…it just won’t work. Unless you have a secular system of government that will commit pogroms, genocide against thinking and religious people like Communism did, murdering millions of its own people…and China is the one who wants to control the whole world…along with Islam.

And then you end up with a genetic pool of people who are co-dependent on their society to think for them.

(I read a small passage in the Seattle Times in the mid 1980’s. Next to Washington, DC, Seattle had the next highest number of KGB agents. The KGB is responsible for transmitting throughout the world that America is the enemy of the world, and that it has bad foreign policy…because all we had to work with in South America was tin hat dictators opposing Marxism…

Anyhoo, the small passage stated that the Communists already targeted a vast number of American intelligencia…and 30 million orthodox Catholics…meaning the devout ones who kept our faith…True Statement.)

The devil and his brutal Gabriel angels and liquidation of the masses all for…

Yes, but Zachariah was gripped with fear by seeing him, not speaking with him. You read the same thing when God appears to people.

Here is something about angels from the Bible that Christians should reflect on:

(Numbers 22)
31 Then the LORD opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the LORD standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.
32 The angel of the LORD asked him, "Why have you beaten your donkey these three times? I have come here to oppose you because your path is a reckless one before me. 33 The donkey saw me and turned away from me these three times. If she had not turned away, I would certainly have killed you by now, but I would have spared her."

As you can see, The Bible says that angels do sometimes draw their swords and threaten wrong-doers with bodily harm.

And in another Biblical passage:

(Daniel 10)
13 But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia.
14 Now I have come to explain to you what will happen to your people in the future, for the vision concerns a time yet to come."
15 While he was saying this to me, I bowed with my face toward the ground and was speechless.
16 Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and began to speak. I said to the one standing before me, “I am overcome with anguish because of the vision, my lord, and I am helpless.
17 How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and I can hardly breathe.”
18 Again the one who looked like a man touched me and gave me strength.
19 “Do not be afraid, O man highly esteemed,” he said. “Peace! Be strong now; be strong.” When he spoke to me, I was strengthened and said, “Speak, my lord, since you have given me strength.”
20 So he said, "Do you know why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the prince of Persia, and when I go, the prince of Greece will come;
21 but first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one supports me against them except Michael, your prince.

And as you can also see, the Bible says that the Angel Michael was sent to fight the prince of Persia.

Now let us read what the Qur’an and the ahadith says about what happened at the Battle of Badr, a pivotal event in the history of Islam:

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) left Madinah with only 317 companions in pursuit of a caravan, unprepared for war. At Badr, the Muslim army found themselves confronted with over 1000 fighters from Quraish, all with weapons, horses and fully prepared for battle.

The battle looked grim, especially since it was their first battle in Islam. The Prophet (pbuh) entered his tent, prayed and raised his hands invoking victory from Allah. He raised his hands so high that his shawl would fall off and Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) was there placing it back on his shoulders. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) cried and prayed.

Then Allah revealed the verse:

(Remember) when your Lord inspired the angels, "Verily, I am with you, so keep firm those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who have disbelieved, so strike them over the necks, and smite over all their fingers and toes. … (Anfal 8/12)

Later on in time, Gabriel would ask the Prophet (pbuh) about those that attended the victory of Badr, “What is the position of those who attended Badr amongst you?” The Prophet (pbuh) said, “They are our best of us.” Then Gabriel said, “Likewise, the Angels that attended Badr are the best amongst the angels”.

The records of Hadith speak eloquently of the fact that the angels did appear on that day and fought on the side of the Muslims. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “While on that day a Muslim was chasing a disbeliever and he heard over him the swashing of a whip and the voice of the rider saying: ‘Go ahead Haizum’. He glanced at the polytheist who had (now) fallen down on his back. The Helper came to the Messenger of Allâh [pbuh] and related that event to him. The Prophet [pbuh] replied: ‘You have told the truth. This was the help from the third heaven.”[Sahih Muslim 2/93]

One of the Helpers captured ‘Abbas bin ‘Abdul Muttalib, who said: “O Messenger of Allâh, by Allâh this man did not capture me. I was captured by a man who was bald and had the most handsome face, and who was riding a piebald horse, I cannot see him here among the people.” The Helper interrupted: “I captured him, O Messenger of Allâh.” The Prophet [pbuh] replied: “Be quiet, Allâh the All-Mighty strengthened you with the help of a noble angel.”

Muslims believe that an army of angels led by Gabriel helped the greatly out-numbered early Muslims defeat their enemies on the battlefield of Badr.

How then does this image of Angel Gabriel differ from the image of angels as described in the Biblical passages above?

It does not, does it?
