Gamers, favorite consoles?

To the gamers on the forum, what is your favorite game console? I’m torn between two. I am tempted to say the NES, since I had one as a child and have a lot of good memories playing it with my mom and sisters. And of course, it had tons of great games.

On the other hand, I am also tempted to say the Sega Saturn. I always like Sega-style arcade type games. And the Saturn had a lot of them. All kinds of great fighting games, even though some of them have to be imported. And the Saturn also has such a big variety of controllers for having such a short lifespan (just got a Saturn virtua stick in the mail, lol).

So what are your favorite consoles? No PC gamers! Just kidding. 😛

I have a play station 3 and a pc for every other game.

Atari (just kidding)

Nah, I’m all about the original NES and the original Legend of Zelda. These modern types don’t know how easy they have it being able to SAVE their games…imagine! Me, I grew up having to race to the bathroom and make it back to continue playing before Dad walked in and turned the game I had paused off. 😃

Besides I can’t get rid of my NES because I still have yet to make it all the way through Super Mario 3 without using the magic flutes to jump levels. But that’s the OCD in me 😉

Ah, Mario Bros 3 was my favorite. It was such a classic. And the original Zelda was tough! I never did finish it, lol. Though I did beat A Link to the Past on the SNES. It was a lot easier. 😛
 
Right now I play mostly NBA 2K13 on my Xbox 360. But my all time favorite is the SNES and favorite on there was Super Mario Yoshi’s Island and Super Mario All Stars which had Mario 1-3 and a few others on there. I’m kind of upset I sold it on eBay when I was in middle school. I’ll probably end up re-buying it all when I move into my college dorm.
 
I had Mario All-Stars. It was great having all the games in one collection. I never even got close to beating the Lost Levels game, though. It was really tough.

Goldeneye on the N64 or Alex the Kid on Sega Master System II
 
I am pretty gamer light, but I love PC games.

So I would have to say the N64, is my favorite console, there were just so many games I could play.

That is followed by a close second with Playstation 2, purely because of FFX.

Right now we have a XBox360 (which I despise because there are no good games for me. And just got a Wii, I like it, but I have to be careful because it can easily make me motion sick. The N64 and Playstation 2 are packed up and may or may not work.

I remember when I was younger my aunt and I would stay up all night and play every now and then. I can’t remember how far I got on the lost levels but the Mario 3 was definitely my favorite. Now I’m going to definitely have to buy it now. I’ll have my roommate up all night playing. :compcoff::rotfl:

Oh man I loved Goldeneye 64 we would have too much fun playing that. I still remember paintball bullets and the secret passageways. I ended up seeing the movie after “like whoa they made a movie for this.” They have a remake of the game but it’s nowhere near the same
 
SNES! Still have it and it works. 😃 Wow the memories… Super Mario Kart was one of my favorites games! Tetris Attack, DKC, DKC2, Super Mario World, Super Mario All Stars, and Mario Paint were all so fun to play!

The magic flutes! I would always wait to use them until later in the game to by pass the levels I didn’t want to have to finish. 🙂

I never managed to get too far into that game… I couldn’t ever figure out how to get past a certain point.
 
It is good to see all the Nintendo love. 🙂

I am pretty much a Nintendo fanboy. My wife got a PS2 for playing Dance Dance Revolution but otherwise I have only ever owned Nintendo consoles. It is tough to pick a favorite. All the Mario games, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye (oh how I loved the proximity mines :)). And now playing the Wii with my kids, it has come full circle.

I do recall my brother and I playing Mario 3 straight through. It took us an entire Saturday, but we did it. 🙂
 
PC gamer myself newest console i own currently is a Gamecube lol.
 
I would have to say the ps2 is my all time favorite. I have a PS3 and love and it as well, but the thing I liked about the ps2 is that online multiplayer wasn’t really huge yet and everything about gaming was fun and simple. Now with today’s generation consoles I find myself yelling and screaming at the screen more than have fun because of the morons I run into online! 😦

Ah, boy, Donkey Kong Country. I can’t believe I forgot about that. Me and my twin sister used to play Donkey Kong Country 2 for hours, we never did beat it! There was one level in the final world that was just murderous, haha.

That’s one of the reasons I don’t play a lot of online stuff. There are a lot of foul-mouthed types and people who take their games waaaay too seriously, lol. And I think the fact that I grew up before the online multiplayer was around kind of keeps me old fashioned with it, haha.
