Letter to all those scared to allow “queers” in the military because of our sexuality:

I only date heterosexual men and most of the men I’ve dated were in the military. Every single man I dated who was in the military was opposed to “don’t ask, don’t tell”. Young men shouldn’t be exposed to the bigoted lies from ex-military men who don’t even deserve to call themselves soldiers. Every single person has a right to fight for their own country, no matter what anyone says. The United States is my country, it is one of the best countries on earth and I would be proud to fight for it. The military already allows “queers” to join the military due to an executive order from President Obama. However, any heterosexual who thinks we are a threat or are trying to push some “homosexual agenda” is extremely paranoid and maybe even delusional. A minority of homosexuals participate in “gay pride parades” not the majority. We aren’t a bunch of scary perverts, no matter what you think.

Sincerely,
Maria

Hear hear!

How can anyone argue against that?

good for you…a little tiny bit of (uncommon) common sense is needed now and then. I would love to have had women in the same barracks with me…I just hated sleeping on bunks next to 39 other guys…after all if a homosexual can have a stimulus next to him and in the latrine and showers, why cant I …Betty Grable would have looked just great and fetching in army combat boots . I sent an application to the ACLU on whether I had a chance to be an officer in their organization.you know…equal rights and toss in phobia . I told them I am against legalizing child porn, they are for it…I am for the boy scouts…they hate them…and I am orthodox RCatholic…well,to this date no answer…wonder why…could it be they wish to jam equal rights etc down our throats but they dont care a mite about diversity …shocking.just plain shocking!

Now you are just being silly.

I wouldn’t have a problem having women around me if I was in the military, or men. You see, not everyone sexualize everything. Not all homosexuals will go “oh yeah, want him!” about a fellow soldier…in fact, I doubt any will, as more likely than not they’d be focused on serving their country and doing their jobs with honor.

Do you actually think that gay men are interested in straight men and cannot function professionally next to them in a bathroom or a shower without becoming lustful and/or inappropriate?

Each time a straight guy writes something like this (“I want my jollies in the latrine too!”), I just shake my head cuz it speaks to hetero problems with control more than gays’. Do you think that you would actually be turned on by being in a bathroom with a bunch of other women? What if, all you life, you had grown up having to do this (as gay men and women do)? Do you think that they just become lustful every time they enter a men’s room in a restaurant or shower room in a gym? Do you actually KNOW any gays?

It’d be the thin end of the wedge. What ‘LGBT’ advocates is public support for (and proliferation of) their lifestyle. The first thing they want is visible acceptance of their ‘normality’, which is what entry into the military would imply.

It would send the message that (unlike in 'don’t ask, don’t tell) the lifestyles of such persons are condoned.
Also, persons with an inclination to homosexual activity would also feel encouraged to be open about their inclination.

Recently on ‘60 Minutes’, a current affairs show in New Zealand and Australia, a direct link was established between the visibility and positive depiction of homosexual behaviour in the popular media, and the increasing incidence of young people accepting and engaging in such behaviour, including so-called ‘straights’.

To make vice ‘acceptable’ through visibility is wrong.

Homosexuality isn’t a vice. It isn’t a choice. It’s what we’re born as, it’s who we’re meant to be.

Isn’t that kind of silly to say that men you date as a “queer” are heterosexual? They would be at least bi-sexual and because if they were sexually attracted to you would mean that they experience some form of same sex attraction or am I missing something.

The last thing is that this minority that you are talking about are your spokesmen and they are the ones that are going out there showing us what being “queer” is about. If you don’t want the majority to think of you that way maybe it is time for you to start policing yourselves don’t you think?

Here you are wrong. In this society everything is sexualized. Again as I have asked before what about the rights of the 99.9999% of the military that isn’t gay? I guess the answer is the heck with them they will get over it. Why should they have to get over it? No where in the Constitution does it say that every man and woman has the ‘right’ to join the military if they want to. No it is a privilege. To be honest with you your not the only ‘minority’, use this term very loosely here, that are discriminated here. Obese, color-blind, handicap (both physical and mental), minors, pregnant women and seniors are not allowed to join the military.

Funny, I wonder if the arguments of the writer would have worked if we were talking about black people serving. Because really, it is a very similar situation now; are we to allow someone who isn’t like the majority serve?

I personally think that there would be a lot of friction in the beginning but that eventually it would all be for the greater good.
Race itself is not anything near approaching sinfulness.

Your comparison does not stand muster either.

Hoboy. Extrapolating on some of the same rationale I have read in the proceeding posts by those seeking to justify the pro-homosexual agenda and by adding in a dash of popular resignation on this whole tired, bullied and beat-up topic let me rejoin to stir-the-pot wth the following:

The Argument From Precedence (aka “even our enemies and less advanced societies do it”)
The Kingdom of Hell grants equality to homosexuals, fornicators, adulterers, and ungodly men and women of every creed, race, sexual orientation/perversion and belief to be patriots and serve King Satan in his military. So it logically follows that the USA should also permit anyone who desires to serve in the US military to do so. After-all Americans are more enlightened, more fair and just than the damned in hell and it only makes us look ignorant to let Satan appear more fair and just. After-all this is the land of the free right?

The Defeatist/Resignation Argument (Recapitulation after Prolonged Social Bombardment/Attrition)
War is hell. Nations have been duping the gullible youth to die for the politicians and old men for millennium by making them feel relevant and honorable by giving them fancy uniforms; yet the military has never ever been objectively honorable and its a means to expand power and culture. Besides, we don’t need no saints in the military as the very business at hand is to send our enemies straight to hell! What better way than to use Satan’s very own subscribers and followers to kill, murder and humiliate his own and send them back home to him?

The Demagogic Argument for ‘Anti-Extremism Through Diversity in Weapons & Resources’
There is no greater means to dishonor and defeat the radical right-wing religious militants than to to humiliate them at the hands of their worst enemies - effeminate men. Even a brainwashed and zealous jihadist wants to die in honor at the hands of a worthy, virile and strong opponent. No true man of any creed wants to suffer the indignity of dieing at the hands of an effeminate man or a woman. So then, gays in the military removes the honor motive from our enemies by increasing the psychological deterrent to aggression. Small minded but macho men typical to the militant right-wing religious countries (the USA’s greatest threat) would not dare risk warring against a US military that permitted openly homosexual military. Such would be terrorized knowing they go into combat to risk being killed, maimed, imprisoned, tortured and humiliated by the most unworthy of opponents (homosexuals). Who wants to enter paradise with the dishonor of dieing that way? This alone is good enough reason to not only permit homosexuals in the military but to encourage and especially recruit them to join. Gay = Detente = Peace!

The Argument for “Let’s Kill Two Birds with One Stone”
Hey, you conservative American neocons should just see the Machiavellian brilliance in a pro-gay military policy. Take a lesson from King David’s brilliant way of ridding himself of Uriah the Hittite so he could have his wife! Let Gay’s serve since it gives you more opportunity to increase manpower to more aggressively and imperialistically expand ever deeper into other peaceful and docile countries. You thereby have the means to both advance your cause while getting more gays killed and off the streets of America (and onto foreign streets.)

Yawn…

My solution:
“Don’t ask, don’t tell” – unless they start hitting on other men in the showers and barracks. In that case make it public by charging them with attempted fratricide via biological weapon then reassign them to the front lines in Afghanistan. But give them a new uniform - rainbow colored camouflage to give the jihadis a fair warning and the opportunity for an honorable withdrawal. 😛

If a law was passed directing that homosexuals be accepted into the military, they would soon demand separate quarters for themselves and their partners, similar to married couples. Homosexuals are actually fornicators,( which is forbidden by the sixth commandment. original Latin, non fornica) If homosexual fornicators receive special privileges, wouldn’t shacked up heterosexuals soon demand the same?
Should the taxpayers have to pay for for special privileges for all fornicators, hetero and homo?
Keep “don’t ask, don’t tell”. This way, homosexuals can serve in the military and keep their private lives, private.

Isn’t that kind of silly to say that men you date as a “queer” are heterosexual? They would be at least bi-sexual and because if they were sexually attracted to you would mean that they experience some form of same sex attraction or am I missing something.

I love this double standard: as if straights are seriously judged by the actions of spring-break hedonism. Is it time we shut down Mardi Gras??

If a law was passed directing that homosexuals be accepted into the military,…

Keep “don’t ask, don’t tell”. This way, homosexuals can serve in the military and keep their private lives, private.
Yes, they already ARE accepted, and have always been. Perhaps it is time to end the official hypocrisy and dishonesty over this.

So you are saying you have no choice but to have sex with other men?
Sexually, I can’t function with a woman. So yes, I suppose that the only way I can have sex is with another man.

Here you are wrong. In this society everything is sexualized. Again as I have asked before what about the rights of the 99.9999% of the military that isn’t gay? I guess the answer is the heck with them they will get over it. Why should they have to get over it? To be honest with you your not the only ‘minority’, use this term very loosely here, that are discriminated here. Obese, color-blind, handicap (both physical and mental), minors, pregnant women and seniors are not allowed to join the military.
But obese people can’t perform to the standards of the military, color-blind people should be allowed to do their bit for their country in my eyes (let’s just not let them disarm bombs…wrong wire and all that), handicapped people should be able to do their bit as well, since the military does end up leaving a lot of people in that position, pregnant women can do the duties, but bootcamp would be too hard for the child, minors do not always know their minds and seniors can’t go up to the physical standard required in the military.

However, homosexuals can do things just as well as heterosexuals. So really, that argument falls through.

Now, you said about the rights of the others. The majority of them do not object to homosexuals in the military. But we can’t chose who we serve with in that sense. Able bodied men and women ready to serve their country should be allowed to serve and be open about who they are and their background.
