Funny, I wonder if the arguments of the writer would have worked if we were talking about black people serving. Because really, it is a very similar situation now; are we to allow someone who isn’t like the majority serve?
Hear hear!Letter to all those scared to allow “queers” in the military because of our sexuality:
I only date heterosexual men and most of the men I’ve dated were in the military. Every single man I dated who was in the military was opposed to “don’t ask, don’t tell”. Young men shouldn’t be exposed to the bigoted lies from ex-military men who don’t even deserve to call themselves soldiers. Every single person has a right to fight for their own country, no matter what anyone says. The United States is my country, it is one of the best countries on earth and I would be proud to fight for it. The military already allows “queers” to join the military due to an executive order from President Obama. However, any heterosexual who thinks we are a threat or are trying to push some “homosexual agenda” is extremely paranoid and maybe even delusional. A minority of homosexuals participate in “gay pride parades” not the majority. We aren’t a bunch of scary perverts, no matter what you think.
Sincerely,
Maria
Now you are just being silly.good for you…a little tiny bit of (uncommon) common sense is needed now and then. I would love to have had women in the same barracks with me…I just hated sleeping on bunks next to 39 other guys…after all if a homosexual can have a stimulus next to him and in the latrine and showers, why cant I …Betty Grable would have looked just great and fetching in army combat boots . I sent an application to the ACLU on whether I had a chance to be an officer in their organization.you know…equal rights and toss in phobia . I told them I am against legalizing child porn, they are for it…I am for the boy scouts…they hate them…and I am orthodox RCatholic…well,to this date no answer…wonder why…could it be they wish to jam equal rights etc down our throats but they dont care a mite about diversity …shocking.just plain shocking!
Do you actually think that gay men are interested in straight men and cannot function professionally next to them in a bathroom or a shower without becoming lustful and/or inappropriate?good for you…a little tiny bit of (uncommon) common sense is needed now and then. Homosexuality isn’t a vice. It isn’t a choice. It’s what we’re born as, it’s who we’re meant to be.It’d be the thin end of the wedge. What ‘LGBT’ advocates is public support for (and proliferation of) their lifestyle. The first thing they want is visible acceptance of their ‘normality’, which is what entry into the military would imply.
It would send the message that (unlike in 'don’t ask, don’t tell) the lifestyles of such persons are condoned.
Also, persons with an inclination to homosexual activity would also feel encouraged to be open about their inclination.
Recently on ‘60 Minutes’, a current affairs show in New Zealand and Australia, a direct link was established between the visibility and positive depiction of homosexual behaviour in the popular media, and the increasing incidence of young people accepting and engaging in such behaviour, including so-called ‘straights’.
To make vice ‘acceptable’ through visibility is wrong.
So you are saying you have no choice but to have sex with other men?Homosexuality isn’t a vice. It isn’t a choice. It’s what we’re born as, it’s who we’re meant to be.
Isn’t that kind of silly to say that men you date as a “queer” are heterosexual? They would be at least bi-sexual and because if they were sexually attracted to you would mean that they experience some form of same sex attraction or am I missing something.Letter to all those scared to allow “queers” in the military because of our sexuality:

Here you are wrong. In this society everything is sexualized. Again as I have asked before what about the rights of the 99.9999% of the military that isn’t gay? I guess the answer is the heck with them they will get over it. Why should they have to get over it? No where in the Constitution does it say that every man and woman has the ‘right’ to join the military if they want to. No it is a privilege. To be honest with you your not the only ‘minority’, use this term very loosely here, that are discriminated here. Obese, color-blind, handicap (both physical and mental), minors, pregnant women and seniors are not allowed to join the military. Now you are just being silly.
I wouldn’t have a problem having women around me if I was in the military, or men. You see, not everyone sexualize everything. Not all homosexuals will go “oh yeah, want him!” about a fellow soldier…in fact, I doubt any will, as more likely than not they’d be focused on serving their country and doing their jobs with honor.
Race itself is not anything near approaching sinfulness.Funny, I wonder if the arguments of the writer would have worked if we were talking about black people serving. Because really, it is a very similar situation now; are we to allow someone who isn’t like the majority serve?
I personally think that there would be a lot of friction in the beginning but that eventually it would all be for the greater good.
I love this double standard: as if straights are seriously judged by the actions of spring-break hedonism. Is it time we shut down Mardi Gras??Isn’t that kind of silly to say that men you date as a “queer” are heterosexual? They would be at least bi-sexual and because if they were sexually attracted to you would mean that they experience some form of same sex attraction or am I missing something.
The last thing is that this minority that you are talking about are your spokesmen and they are the ones that are going out there showing us what being “queer” is about. If you don’t want the majority to think of you that way maybe it is time for you to start policing yourselves don’t you think?
Yes, they already ARE accepted, and have always been. Perhaps it is time to end the official hypocrisy and dishonesty over this.If a law was passed directing that homosexuals be accepted into the military,…
Keep “don’t ask, don’t tell”. This way, homosexuals can serve in the military and keep their private lives, private.
Sexually, I can’t function with a woman. So yes, I suppose that the only way I can have sex is with another man.So you are saying you have no choice but to have sex with other men?
But obese people can’t perform to the standards of the military, color-blind people should be allowed to do their bit for their country in my eyes (let’s just not let them disarm bombs…wrong wire and all that), handicapped people should be able to do their bit as well, since the military does end up leaving a lot of people in that position, pregnant women can do the duties, but bootcamp would be too hard for the child, minors do not always know their minds and seniors can’t go up to the physical standard required in the military. Here you are wrong. In this society everything is sexualized. Again as I have asked before what about the rights of the 99.9999% of the military that isn’t gay? I wasn’t talking about sinfulness, I was talking about how change needs to happen.Race itself is not anything near approaching sinfulness.
Your comparison does not stand muster either.
