Hey folks!!! Remember the song, “They will know we are Christians by our love”? What kind of example are we showing here?
You and Lance-boy vs. me and my sons. No weapons. Name the time.Katie,
If you had half as much compassion for orthodox, stalwart Catholics as you do for public, unrepentent grave sinners who try to lead others off the road to salvation, I would take you more seriously.
Thanks Fix, I needed that after dealing with katherine2.Katie,

I think you will find that the Catholic Church is neither conservative nor progressive. It is primarily a way of bringing the salvation of Jesus Christ the Saviour to all human persons willing to accept Him.f you adhere to all of the things that I stated in the previous message, then I do not know why you would call yourself progressive. On the other hand, if there are teachings of the faith that you do not follow, then that would explain why you would call yourself progressive.
You see, the Roman Catholic faith is NOT progressive at all…it is simply the full truth and we as Catholics are expected to accept and follow every bit of it.
I appreciate your concern. I am very upset with throwing the word progressive around like is mean faithlessness. I’m not going to defend everything done in the name of progressive Catholicism, in fact I’m willing to criticize some things done in its name. But I think there is a long and honorable tradition within the Church.Katherine,
This is a place for people to post personal opinons, I do so that regularly, as do you. My opinions are not in-line with yours----so what? The world ain’t gonna come crashing down because two strangers do not agree. Nor is my life going to be touched because you think I am an insulting person. Frankly I have no clue why you think I insulted you, yet I do apologize if you feel slighted by my words.
You know, I found it. I would think a bright young man like you could. So, again, do you have a link to the actual bill–I have not been able to find the bill online?
And I thought we would never agree on anything. You are right on target on this. It is just when liberals or socialist tell us conservatives we are not being Catholic we tend to ‘get our shorts in a knot’.I think you will find that the Catholic Church is neither conservative nor progressive. Insofar as the Church is a Social body, which of course Ecclesia necessarily is, it has a political aspect but it is not and cannot ever be regarded primarily as a political organisation.
It is my belief based on personal experience that it is possible to be Catholic and conservative or Catholic and liberal or Catholic and socialist. I appreciate that the use of the “S” word may upset Americans of a nervous disposition. Get over it, millions of Catholics around the world beyond the boundaries of your country don’t have the slightest problem in reconciling socialism and Catholicism.
Just for the record I think of myself as green and Catholic, not necessarily in that order
Katherine, cut the insults, and post a link to the blasted bill already. I’ve been trying to search on the Illinois government site, and the bill is not easily found. So if you actually want to engage others in a discussion about this topic, provide a link so that we can all read the bill’s language for ourselves. Otherwise stop wasting our time. You know, I found it. I would think a bright young man like you could.
But you are a sinner as well. Even the rightous fall 7 times a day. So your going to rebuke yourself?

Actually I have read the Bible. I don’t recall any part of the Gospel where Our Lord used words like whore, thief or pervert to describe the “public sinners” he ministered to. He reserved his sternest words for the outwardly religious types of his day who felt that the highest calling of God was to condemn others rather than serve them.
That being so is the word “homo” a loving and charitable way to refer to homosexual persons?
the bill was carried over from the previou session. You have to go back to the 2003-2004 session to find the bill.Katherine, cut the insults, and post a link to the blasted bill already.
