By 2016 people will be used to their new taxes, and they will be used to Obamacare, and they will be used to the new normal of 8-10% unemployment.
Well by then, I think the GOP should use the strategy of trying to get rid of Abortion and Contraception in Obama care rather than try and take it down. It’s all about adapting. To be honest would anyone who is catholic havea problem with OBamacare if he got rid of the stupid HHS clause or junk like that.Of course obama is too stupid to do that.

By then, people just will not care.

True. But right now there are no other leaders apparent. Ryan is not a contender. Palin is not a contender. But it is a big country, and much could happen in four years. Nobody would have predicted Obama for 2008 in 2004. Ditto for Bill Clinton, and for Romney, four years prior to their campaigns.
I see Bobby Jindal, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Nikki Haley as potentials, but it is early, other contenders could appear. It is funny, Obama has been reelected and we are talking about 2016… actually no wonder

Maybe, maybe not. You might be used to your new taxes and Obamacar, I will not be used to either one. 😃 :p:

I will not used to those things either–yet the masses of Obama supporters will be, and they will want it to continue.

People will vote to keep those taxes and Obamacare in place. That is, afterall, what they voted for this time–they want higher taxes, they want Obamacare, and the majority has no real problem with things like the HHS Mandate.

ObamaTax may not be fully implemented by 2016

One of the huge problems for the GOP is that the red states are the welfare states. If the size of government is decreased, and taxes are actually lowered, then the red states are the ones which will suffer, for the most part, not the blue states who produce enough revenue to pay their own bills.

This is why I am pessimistic the either party will reduce government spending. In some cases, Federal dollars exceed the states GDP without federal money but some multiples. Those states would be in an even worse depression than they are in now.
The West Coast his three, blue states, with at two of them will be the ones suffering with a smaller government. 🙂

We need only to see what just happened, to have a good guess at the future. If things stay somewhat the same, or if they improve just slightly, the GOP will not win.

I also have zero faith in the GOP. I believe they are trying to moderate their platform in an effort to garner votes, yet that is exactly why Romney lost. Democrats do not water down their beliefs or their platform.

But what about all those wo

It would be nice, win or lose, to just once vote for a party and candidate that would actually fight for what they believe in. The Dems, as wrong as they are, do that all the time…they are true believers in their causes.

I have no idea what happened to the party who rose from nowhere and helped free the slaves. Today’s GOP is a mere hint of that once great party.

We need a true prolife party.
The Dems also twist the truth and have the MM on their side, so no matter what they say or do, they’re made to look good. The media played a big role in getting Obama re-elected. Many people don’t look past the major news networks to get their news and form their opinions.
Romney also lost because a lot of the Reps didn’t like having a Mormon as president. This doesn’t make any real sense because now we have Obama and who knows what he really is. But apparently, a big chunk of conservatives stayed away from the voting booth because of Romney’s religion.

epan this sounds completely bass-ackwards. The states that are in dire financial straits are the blue states like California which is a disaster, as well as Illinois. They are NOT generating enough revenue to pay their bills, in fact the tax increases voted in, in both states have demonstrated the reality that raising taxes doesn’t mean higher revenue.

The Red States are the ones with lower unemployment, budget surpluses and a lot of people moving IN not out.

I do agree that neither party has the courage to actually tackle reduced government spending. I saw Tom Coburn on Book TV and if there were more like him, there might be hope but most are just running for the hills rather than being painted as heartless for wanting to reduce those oh so effective government programs…

As long as the GOP are all about anti-abortion, anti-gay, anti-imigration and for the rich and the Christian right, they will loose and there are not enough prayers to fix that… They are outta touch with the reality of the future. The party of NO is finished… 😃

If you are correct, then that leaves the country with a pro-death, anti-marriage, anti-nation, anti-faith, and anti-personal success party. Nice. 👍

When has the GOP been all that? 🤷

Republican party will have to drop the social issues and embrace its Libertarian Wing if its gonna be able to compete in the future.

Republicans will refocus and come back in 2014 and 2016
House should hold Republican for the rest of the decade because of their 2010gerrymandering. The Republicans could gain a few Senate seats in 2014 but they also have a lot to lose in 2016. W.H. is anyone’s guess at this point.
