Yeh, he wrote a money-selling book and finagled pro-life money for his side. Nancy was admittedly pro-choice so I don’t see anything inspiring about his “change of heart” presidency.
To each his own. 🙂

Can’t stand Nancy, BTW.

I have seen some democrats say Christie should be the nominee, the exact reason right there why he should not be. Moderates usually fail as republican presidential candidates:

Herbert Hoover, Alf Landon, Wendell Willkie, Thomas E Dewey nominated twice, Gerald R Ford, George H W Bush, Bob Dole, John McCain, Mitt Romney
You would really not vote for a pro-lifer like Christie because some Democrats would? Don’t understand that at all. BTW, which Democrats are we talking about? Couldn’t hurt to watch out for them in the next four years…

WASHINGTON (CBS DC) – Despite repeated denials from Hillary Clinton about a possible *2016 presidential run, former GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich stated his party would be “incapable of competing” against her and the Democrats.

The former Republican Speaker of the House expressed negativity about his own party’s chances in 2016 with NBC’s “Meet The Press” on Sunday. He said that the combined support of Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, and a presumably still-popular President Barack Obama would be an unstoppable campaign.

“Trying to win that will truly be the Super Bowl,” said Gingrich. “The Republican Party of today is truly incapable of competing at that level.”

As I said in a different thread, it might be time to start a prolife party and let things go as they will. Give the people a real choice, and let the nation move into the future according to what they people want.

I am a believer that the Lord allows us to receive what we need, and oftentimes NOT what we want. The truth is, despite all the pain the USA has suffered, people have turned farther away from God (abortion, same-sex marriage, fornication, adultery, living together, low Church attendance, etc.). Until the nation returns to actually honoring and loving God, it really has no positive future–imo.
Do you really think that a tired, old Hilary would stand a chance against Marco Rubio, who could get 62% and 55% of the white and hispanic vote?

Listen, by 2016, a LOT will change. The rest of the country and the rest of the world, which the left is scared to death of offending, isn’t going to pay their way anymore.

In fact, they would have stopped if there was an alternative (besides gold) to the American dollar.

The GOP will mop the floor with the democrats in 2014 and the case will be ready for 2016.

It is the democrats who will be struggling to find someone. You can pretty much throw away the second-first Black president card, because that chip has been cashed in.

And if Hilary did run in 2012 instead of Obama and had his same policy stance, the Black vote would be up for grabs.

The GOP gets even 1/3 of that and no democrat will occupy the White House for a VERY long time.

That’s why the left rails against minority conservatives. They get even a sizable fraction of their votes and it is game over for the progressive movement.

The democrats, due to their culture of death, are in just as much danger as the republicans as becoming obsolete.

Hey, I agree with you!

Gingrich is smart but his predictions, and anyone’s for that matter, would be worthless regarding a 2016 election.

Folks like to read the tea leaves though, no matter how sillt the endeavor.

A republic founded by progressives. 😉
It was founded on Judeo Christian principles not on secular humanism. Your hero Thomas Jefferson was a small government advocate. While he is said to be a “Deist” rather than a Christian, he acknowledged God and Natural Law. He would be dumbstuck at the entitlement programs of today’s Progressives and the idea people would be standing with their hands out…not to mention that today we have people stupid enough to believe that paying people to sit on their butts is a good idea. In fact I am hard pressed to see anything “progressive” as the term is used post Woodrow Wilson, applied to the Founding Fathers, even those more interested in government meddling.

You can not support abortion and be Catholic. You will learn this if you look it up. First ask your parents if it is OK to do so, obviously.
Guys please stop feeding the raving obamavoter and get back to the subject of this thread, which is Hillary Clinton and the Democrat party.

OK roger that. Now would someone remind me of a good reason to consider Hillary Clinton as next POTUS? I’m hard pressed to find anything appealing about her although as with her husband Bill, Obama’s incompetence, petulance and cosmic dissonance 😉 is making either of them look like a viable alternative.

I’m curious (sincerely) what anyone thinks she’s accomplished as SoS. Egypt…a mess and quite honestly having been there in October I can attest to this from personal experience. Libya…a total debacle with the deaths of four Americans still waiting for justice. Iran steaming toward nukes, NoKo saber rattling, Afghanistan a total quagmire…now tell me that other than leading a conga line and drinking on camera what has she done to become the defacto nominee? Blech…

She is pro abortion and pro gay marriage. Enough for Catholics to oppose her as president

His approval rating will dive.

Second terms are terrible for presidents in the modern era.
Except for Bill Clinton. If it wasn’t for the 22nd Amendment Clinton would have won a third term against George W. Bush.

Not to sound pessimistic but I wonder what a lot of people were saying 4 years ago about how the Republicans would take back the WH and yet we are here.

However, Americans won’t vote for a 3rd term with a particular party and so that would favor the Republicans but since Obama has an edge with media on his side and with the fiscal cliff talks, I wonder if 2014 the Democrats take back the House since most of the Electorate are not critical thinking enough to see past the superficiality of what the Media tells them.
