21 days after the press first heralded the beginning of “the Gingrich Surge”, the day that this thread was started, over 400 posts and 28 pages later,** the biggest news of the Gingrich Surge has come!!!**
Newt Gingrich, who only recently started getting support upward of 20% in national polls, has just polled not 21% in a poll, but 21% AHEAD above Mitt Romney. I repeat, he is 21 points above Mitt Romney in a national poll recently released.
Here is the link:
realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2012/president/us/republican_presidential_nomination-1452.html
Newt Gingrich 38%
Mitt Romney 17%
Herman Cain and Ron Paul both at 8%
Perry, Santorum, and Bachmann all at 4%
Huntsman at 3%
Newt Gingrich is the first person to be ahead of Mitt Romney by
more than 20 points.
Rick Perry beat him by 19 in one poll. But, Rick Perry collapsed because he didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. He didn’t bring a substantive message to the campaign trail… he hired some aids to worry about substance for him, and it showed. And he failed miserably.
Newt Gingrich claims “we are running the most substantive campaign in modern history”… and I would have to agree with that claim. He isn’t going to collapse because of a bad debate performance. Unlike Perry who dreaded the debates. Newt relishes them, and has said before “if there was a debate every day between now and Jan. 3, I would win Iowa”… he said that when he sat at about 7 or 8%.
Well, today Newt Gingrich got 38% in a national poll.
I’m sorry, is that significant enough to bear repeating in the largest font on CAF? I think it does… well here goes, the first time I’ve ever used size 7 font, prepare yourselves!
NEWT GINGRICH GETS 38% in NATIONAL POLL, 21 POINTS AHEAD MITT ROMNEY
WOOOAH.

I hope no one wants to print this. LOL.

So, what were all those attacks he got?
He was a lobbyist? He worked for Freddie Mac? His campaign was disorganized? He didn’t have any money? He wasn’t a likeable guy? His immigration policy was liberal?
[Even though its very similar to Regaan, Bush, McCain, and EVEN what Mitt Romney wrote in a book of his] … I respond to the only attack on a substantive policy part of a platform.
UH OH, It looks like all of those attacks have failed utterly.
In my opinion, it looks like a lot of people in the media are going to have some explaining to do about speaking these idle words to their Lord. [BIBLEDRB]Matthew 12:36[/BIBLEDRB]
P.S.
Remember when I said Newt Gingrich had 47% support in Floriday yesterday?
This article today says Newt Gingrich has hit 50% support in Florida. 50% out of 8 candidates.
