America may be, in your words “the most hated country in the world” but it is the first country they turn to when they have a major problem.I don’t believe you. Well, considering the economy of the US these days, It can barely help itself. People turn to the US because the US manipulated them in doing so. The US gets free resources in return. And then installs dictators over those countries. At the same time they take away religious freedoms, force Catholic hospitals to close, and oh yeah, my favorite, encourage abortion. Nobody helped my dad become an American. He considers that the best decision of his life. He went from working 3 jobs with a 7th grade education to retiring as CEO of a global corporation. Only in America is that possible.
Maybe you should work on being charitable instead of insulting an entire country…

Also, what is being ignored is the overall weak support. These will all come down to the wire. Take a look at this result from an Iowa poll.

I think she does a good job in explaining why he’s still surging, as well.What is striking is the extraordinary divide in opinion between those who know Gingrich and those who don’t. Those who do are mostly not for him, and they were burning up the phone lines this week in Washington.
Those who’ve known and worked with Mitt Romney mostly seem to support him, but when they don’t they don’t say the reason is that his character and emotional soundness are off. Those who know Ron Paul and oppose him do so on the basis of his stands, they don’t say his temperament forecloses the possibility of his presidency. But that’s pretty much what a lot of those who’ve worked with Newt say.
…and the real concern:Yet the reservations and criticisms of the politico-journalistic establishment are having zero effect on Gingrich’s support. In a Quinnipiac poll this week he moved into a double-digit lead over Mr. Romney in Florida, Ohio and Pennsylvania.
The antipathy of the establishment not only is not hurting him at this early date, it may be helping him. It may be part of the secret of his rise. The GOP deliberately sabotaged the 2008 election … “as if” they really wanted to lose.

The GOP seems more comfortable in the “loser role”, than in the winner role.
All the GOP wants to do is go to parties hosted by people who despise them. The GOP just wants to dance backwards all the time, instead of leading.
The GOP even acquiesced to the Democrat demand for “power sharing” after the Democrats lost an earlier election.
Even the Democrats call the GOP the stupid party.
So, while I love Peggy Noonan, … sorry, Peggy, but the GOP cannot be trusted to support their local sheriff.

I mean it paid all right for anyone at all willing to put up with that kind of work, and the beer tasted good enough, but it just didn’t seem like something that would define an elitist class.
Oklahoma itself does not seem a likely place for an elitist to come from. It seems like a long ways from the Harvards and the Yales, and or even the Standfords and the like.
Postcard pretty for sure, but rather rustic and off the beaten track, I think.
As for whether the world hates America or not, as Dennis Prager points out, this is usually a very good thing.When the dictators and the despots and the rules that rule this world start liking you, you really need to rethink your position.
