I agree. Republicans have lost jobs to corparte raiders along with democrats. It’s an American, not political, issue.

Corporate “raiders” strengthen the economy. The only people who don’t understand this are the ones that are too lazy to understand how the economy works and are far too eager to let the government do their thinking for them. This is generally the type of ignorance that Gingrich is playing on and it is rather shameful. I have been claiming all along that Gingrich is just another big-government statist politician, who clothes himself in conservative attire.

We have a term for big government statist politicians who clothe themselves in conservative attire. They are called Republicans.
 
Did you notice that Gingrich has received over $3 million from Adelson, who has made his money off gambling - casinos? This is just one additional reason why I can’t consider supporting Gingrich. Add this to his unstable temperament, his arrogant hubris (compares himself to Churchill and Reagan), his money as an ‘historian’ from Freddie Mac, his $300,000 fine, his ousting as House GOP leader, and his notorious divorces and affairs, etc. All this and more, plus many Republicans who know him best are against him.
No, I could never vote for Gingrich. He and Callista certainly would be poor models for our young people as well as a national embarrassment.

It’s really sad that Gingrich has become anti-Capitalism. Is he going to campaign with Obama against Romney, or will he do a 180 after the convention and defend Bain’s practices?
 
To point out the weaknesses of Gingrich, as he runs for the highest political office in the world, is not to indulge in a smear campaign. And when it comes to a smear campaign, does anyone exceed Gingrich? I seem to recall that he advocated subpoenaing federal judges if they ruled other than he thought they should, described Obama as a Kenyan colonial eurosocialist, suggested that Barney Frank and Chris Dodd be put in jail etc. He is temperamentally unfit to lead our beloved nation, and I would be alarmed if he occupied the Oval Office. Add to this his obvious messiah complex. His election also would injure the Catholic Church as his conversion would be widely known and deepen the suspicion of Catholicism that already is widespread, both because of prejudice starting with our colonial history and more recently seriously augmented because of the sex scandal.
Support Gingrich if you wish, as we are fortunate to live in a free country, but I will pray that he doesn't win. That would be a national tragedy.
 
Update on 12 January 2012: Today, I received a most wonderful and spiritual letter froim Newt Gingrich. He is offering me…ME!..a chance to help spread his message. :extrahappy:

And this in spite of the fact that I am registered with the Libertarian Party, not the Republican Party:pshaw:

I too, can now defend the Catholic Church by donating a huge sum of money to fund distribution of NINE DAYS THAT CHANGED THE WORLD.:dancing:

Alas, since I am retired, I need to wait this one out. I have a small Social Security Pension, but that may be gutted, Same for me Federal Employee Pension. Especially if the Republicans get control of the White House and Congress. 😦

One of the things I have liked about Gingrich from the beginning is the way he takes control of a situation. “No I’m not answering that question. That’s baloney” type stuff. He doesn’t get drawn into lines of questioning he doesn’t want.

I came across an interesting quote the other day. Tertullian, while still a Catholic, in his Apologia in AD 197:

We are but of yesterday, and already we have filled all your world: cities, islands, fortresses, towns, marketplaces, the camp itself, tribes, companies, the palace, the senate, the forum. We have left you nothing but your temples only! We can match the numbers of your armies; and from one province we shall come to be many. For what war would we not be fit and eager, even if of unequal strength, when we are so willing to be slain, if it were not that according to our discipline, it is better to be killed than to kill? Again, couple of things in favor of Gingrich are his familiarity with the way God intervenes , as he saw the same happening in the fall of communism in the John Paul 11 era and his admiration for Pope Benedect that is said to be the reason behind his conversion
( along with influence of his Catholic wife .) - both good , solid reasons which can continue to bring forth blessings , if he continues to honor the Godly wisodm of their ways .

A man who has shown the ability / humility , in spite of past misatkes , to be able to accept truth at that level , hopefully should be capable of accepting same , in other areas , whether it is from Ron Paul or other good sources , when the time comes !

That, in contrast to some of the other front runners , whose history is that of deception of truth , where it should matter the most , to poor , gullible persons , along with a Patriarchal history of taking advantage of another weaker group - women , whose worth , like in Islam , is /used to be considered far less !

Such an attitude might be underlying the ’ vulture capitalist’ mentality that others bring up - and the training for same seems to get instilled early on , for the 'mission fileds ’ - a production quota type of mind set , even when to comes to what is to be sacred !

One wonders if such mind sets , at various levels ,from those who have become financially succesful , as per the strong expectations for worldly gain and power ( like in Islam !) , from the tight run temple power structure , could have also contributed to the whole financial mess that we are in now !

Again, Gingrich may not be able to spell out some of these real ,deeper issues , for various reasons and thus might seem like he is bringing up issues that does not matter !

Unlikey that that is the case !

Those among us who are to see the handwriting more clearly ,esp. with regard to what the larger agendas may be , from what could have motivated these persons the most , need to do so !
