Combat, Little house on the praire, Wonder woman, Bionic woman, Looney Tunes, the Flintstones, Super Friends!!!

OH Days of our lives and The Golden Girls !!!

Oh after bring up "Gilligans Island ", I suppose the can of worms is already open… The age old question…Ginger …Mary anne…??? You be the judge!

Mike Dye:
Anyone rememember “Dobie Gillis”?
“The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis” with Bob “Gilligan” Denver playing Maynard G. Krebs. TV Land ran it a few years ago.

Sea Hunt starring Lloyd Bridges as Mike Nelson!

My favorite episode was “Legend of the Mermaid” in which Mike investigates an underwater grotto said to have a mermaid that lures men to their deaths. SPOILER: The “Mermaid” is actually a sunken statue of Our Blessed Mother. The divers are being killed by the current. I beleive that it was remade for the second season and given the title of “The Siren.”

Black and White

You could hardly see for all the snow,
Spread the rabbit ears as far as they go.
Pull a chair up to the TV set,
“Good Night, David. Good Night, Chet.”

Dependin’g on the channel you tuned,
You got Rob and Laura - or Ward and June.
It felt so good. It felt so right.
Life looked better in black and white.

I Love Lucy, The Real McCoy’s,
Dennis the Menace, the Cleaver boys,
Rawhide, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train,
Superman, Jimmy and Lois Lane.

Father Knows Best, Patty Duke,
Rin Tin Tin and Lassie too,
Donna Reed on Thursday night! –
Life looked better in black and white.

I wanna go back to black and white.
Everything always turned out right.
Simple people, simple lives…
Good guys always won the fights.

Now nothing is the way it seems,
In living color on the TV screen.
Too many murders, too many fights,
I wanna go back to black and white.

In God they trusted, alone in bed they slept,
A promise made was a promise kept.
They never cussed or broke their vows.
They’d never make the network now.

But if I could, I’d rather be
In a TV town in '53.
It felt so good. It felt so right.
Life looked better in black and white.

I’d trade all the channels on the satellite,
If I could just turn back the clock tonight
To when everybody knew wrong from right.
Life was better in black and white!

Whoever wrote this knows me very very well!! I love this!!!

Anyone rememember “Dobie Gillis”? Spelling? Or Pat Boone?
In the 50’s when I was a teenager I made my first trip to the big city of New York. As we walked by the CBS building someone gave us tickets to see the “Arthur Godfrey Show”. Pat Boone was a regular at that time and I had a teenage crush on him. I was so disappointed when I went back to my home town and found out it wasn’t “cool” to like Pat Boone. Well, I remained faithful to ol’ Pat and even bought his trademark white bucks…(those are white suede shoes that became even more popular than saddle shoes.)

Dick Van Dyke, top all time situation comedy

“You slept through the Guns of Navaronne?”

What’s for dessert?
You just ate it.
What was it?
Blueberry pie.
Darn it, that’s my favorite.

Oh I used to love watching the Mary Tyler Moore show followed by Bob Newhart and ten the Carol Burnette Show. Harvey Korman and Tim Conway - can’t much funnier.
Ditto… I enjoyed Bob Denver on Gilligan’s Island when I was a kid, too. What’s with modern commedians anyway? Most of them can’t seem to shine a light to the ones of a few years past.

I haven’t seen any one mention 'Make Room for Daddy" with Danny Thomas, or the Andy Williams show. I used to love his Christmas specials :dancing:

Peace,
MSGirl

I remember “Make Room For Daddy”, I was so young then … my parents thought it was so good because he was Catholic. If they hadn’t even told me, St. Judes Hospital would have given me a major hint !!!

I like the ol’ Batman series starring Adam West and Burt Ward…I always get a kick out of Frank Gorshin being the riddler. LOL! 😃

I also enjoy The A-Team, although that isn’t really so old…it’s from the 80’s, so I guess you can’t call it “classic” yet… 👍

The show I disliked with a passion is “All in the Family”
Carrol O’ Connor’s acting ability in overrated.

That said, I do happen to enjoy “The Jeffersons” and “I Love Lucy” quite a bit, too

“Leave It To Beaver” is now available on DVD!!

Does anyone else remember when TV stations signed off for the night with “Sermonette”? 🙂

Mickey Mouse Club
Bob Newhart
The original Saturday Night Live
MASH
Happy Days
Rin Tin Tin
Sky King
The Lone Ranger
Sgt. Preston of the Yukon
Shirley Temple Presents (All those wonderful adaptations of the fairy tales).
Leonard Berstein’s Young People’s Concerts (hooked me on classical music).
Lawrence Welk:bigyikes: (Ha, gotcha on that one)!

Carol Ann,
Yes I remember…really sad that those days are gone forever!

I love all the westerns… especially High Chaparel and Bonanza!
But no one mentioned this one! I use to watch it when I was a little kid with my grandma and get SOOO freaked out! HAHA, now when I watch it - it is so campy and fun.

DARK SHADOWWWWWSSSSS!
