Glenn Beck rally will be a measure of the tea party's strength

I’m just going to say that the Glenn Beck Restoring Honor rally is something that this country needed. I’m so glad that I went to it and it definitely was worth the long bus rides to and from Groton, CT.

There may have been one or two jabs with regards to mainstream media’s inaccurate reporting of the crowd size. I did read the initial articles on MSNBC and ABCNews.com and quite frankly these two outlets did a poor job conveying what this rally was all about, the only people being mentioned being Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. There was no mention of the “Restoring Honor” award recipients, Dr. Alveda King, the numerous pastors and clergymen, etc.

WND did a much better job at covering the event which is to their credit, since Joe Farah is kind of dubious with regards to Beck’s sincerity to the faith when it comes to his libertarian stance on allowance of sodomy, marriage, and disinterest if not sometimes ridicule of the birther movement.

I also had the chance to catch part of a TEA Party rally in which Minnesota Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann was a part of and even got my picture taken with her. If only CT had government officials that weren’t outright insane.

I did notice a counter-protest to Beck’s rally in which many participants were black and white, though more black, about my age bracket and of college age marching with signs to end the war, gay “rights”, marxism, anti-TEA Party, and “justice for Africa”. I really don’t think these people have a clue as to what they’re doing.

In any event, while I know one guy was booing them, I went forth and shouted out to the marchers “God Bless America!”, “God Bless Them!” and to “Remember that We Are ALL Americans and to never forget” as they passed by. I pray that a seed of truth was planted inside of them for the Holy Spirit to work with.

For someone who is so offended by people questioning Obama’s religion I see you have no issue poking at Mr. Beck’s faith.

Pot meet kettle.
I asked a question, what’s the difficulty answering it? I did not question his faith though I do question what he seems to be using it to do. Neither do I have any intention of lying about his faith - that’s not my style, I’m afraid. There enough truth about him to criticize - why would I feel the need to make stuff up?

Desperate to discredit 550k to 1 million people who came from all over our country to pray.

Not including the hundreds of thousands who watched online or watched Cspan yesterday… who were praying right along with them.

The anger from some on the left over this is a sure sign satan has a hold on people. Nothing could have made satan more enraged than yesterday.
Now satan is enraged and that has something to do with the left? Hmm, they must be doing something right as good is what tends to enrage him…Seriously people, now that politics isn’t enough to manipulate people it’s getting married to religion? Honestly…get a grip! :D:D

That’s not an accusation.

You asked me a question I could not possibly answer. I’m not you.
You basically accused me of making stuff up. Can we please get back to the topic? Moderators can’t be everywhere at the same time and this discussion should not be about individual posters but about the issues.

In America, faith is private. There is nothing much to DO in public about it. We get reminded of salvation and its blessings, then we have to get up for work again the next morning and worry about any possibility for retirement without suffering.
I think I’ll let the good bishop respond to this comment:
Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver called for Catholics in America and Europe to oppose the rise of a “state-encouraged atheism” which reduces religion to “an individual lifestyle accessory.”
I actually think that Beck has the emptiest show on Fox. (although, I probably don’t know them all). He says nothing but empty platitudes.
Yeah - those empty platitudes did nothing but produce a rousing response from the nation, huh?

Sort of, sure. Look, if a big change occurs, all power to you!

But that there is a response does not mean that the man has much content on his show. I am a strong critic of the level of content on “serious” television.

Satan is fictional.

I support the efforts of religious people to get together to pray. I hope that good things come from it. Who wouldn’t? 🤷

Satan is fictional?
BS.

What are you doing on a Catholic message board? Obviously, you aren’t winning many converts to your point of view.

I want no converts.

And I support the efforts of religious people to gather and pray in whatever numbers they like.

550k to 1 million what? I hope you’re not talking about Beck’s thing. I just heard the teacher himself say he would have aerial estimates soon but 300k to max 650k. But at this math it will soon be the entire country minus perhaps a few of us like Larkin and I. 🙂

And you can prove this?
 Faith or non-faith or a faith in question can not be proved. We can’t prove the Catholic Church is the whole enchilada without first placing faith into everything She and the ECFs said. Before that without placing faith in a Creator. 🤷 It’s all faith and belief or non belief. Proof and faith are oxymorons as difficult as I know that is for many to understand. Keep the faith! And peace.
