OK, I’m going to ask something kinda un-PC but I simply have to.This whole “raising hands is a Protestant thing” sounds a bit like ecclesial snobbery. I understand when it is brought up in an attempt to explain the origin of the practice, but when some posters put it down as “a Protestant thing”, it sounds a bit judgmental, similar to many posts in “that’s a Protestant hymn” threads.
What is so good about Protestantism?
Why on earth would a Catholic want to look to Protestantism for an example?
Why is sticking to Catholic practice and theology snobbery?
I’m Catholic and I know why we pray the Mass the way we do and have no intention of apologising for that, or taking in protestant practice so we could get all ecumenical.
