I forgot about those! My older brothers did like those when we were kids! I liked them too. We even had one of those play sets with the giant bolder. Actually, I think it was supposed to be a board game, but we just play around with it.

I think we have that one downstairs. If not , I know we have the Disney animal version!

“Where the Red Fern Grows” is fantastic for all children, and features a boy and his dogs. “Old Yeller” is another good option, again about a boy and a dog. If you can find a copy (only produced on VHS as far as I know) “Where Pigeons Go to Die” is a fantastic movie that I loved as a child.

The old Disney film Jungle Book, also Old Yeller, Apple Dumpling Gang, Mary Poppins and… oh I don’t know
Lord of the Rings!!! (for when he gets older)

My 4 year old grandson just watched Pinocchio, a great movie!
He also likes The Wizard of Oz, the Narnia movies, and Zathura (though it does start with brothers bickering.) There’s also Wall-E, and the Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.

Erm, Watership Down has blood in it because the rabbits fight each other.
I loved the book, but it’s a more serious and darker tone. A two year old expecting cute and fuzzy cuddle-buns might be in for an unpleasant shock.

Flipped is a wonderful film for boys about character development.

That’s more like for teens because otherwise any young kid, boy or girl, will just have to explained quite often most of the insinuating dialogue between Indiana and his many girlfriends, former girlfriends, paramours etc.

“The Lion King”
“Madagascar”
“Empire of the Sun” - but I think 10+ so he can actually understand something about it
“Fievel Mousekevitz” - a funny little mouse who has a lot of adventures so there is a lot of morals there
“Ratatouille”

Oh and of course
“The Adventures of Tintin” - Spielberg made several movies with him; this is more like an Indiana Jones for kids because the main character is a little boy

No, young kids can enjoy the Indiana Jones pictures without needing explanations of that kind. Explanations about the Ark of the Covenant and the Holy Grail, maybe, but there’s nothing wrong with that!

Erm, yes it does.
I hadn’t noticed a G-Rated-For-Two-Year-Olds spec?

Caveat spectator 🐰

Karate kid 1-3, the sandlot, heavyweights (though that may only have worked for me because I was a fat kid) that’s all I can think of right now

Not yet mentioned, the two Paddington films are very charming, and 200’s My Dog Skip is a lovely film, although get the Kleenex ready for that one.

Yes. He is two. But it’s not bad to hear about films for when he’s older too.

I was thinking Rudy or the Lord of the Rings triology/The Hobbit. The Hobbit May have been made in a cartoon version.

Actually, Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies were very cute. Ferris Bueller’s Day off and Princess Bride are classics.
