Does anyone know what Pope John Paul II thought of Medjugorje ?
Excerpt: section under
Pope John Paul II’s Opinion
_In line with Roman Catholic tradition, Pope John Paul II considers the Medjugorje phenomenon an issue for the local hierarchy. It is, however, common knowledge, that the Pope is sympathetic to the Marian site.
I would be cautious about reporting what some other person “considers”, unless you are a mind reader. I don’t care if the reporter has 20 years covering the Vatican, they still can’t read minds. I also would avoid saying what is “common knowledge”, or what some person is “sympathetic” to. None of this can be verified. The same goes for private conversations. We don’t know the context, or what an alleged statement was responding to.
This is especially true when the person has been dead for some years, but it also holds true for living persons including Pope Francis.
