Yeah, I was so disgusted with a movie once I walked out of my house. Forgot it was my house, and they locked the door on me.

Another time a radio program in my car was so bad I walked out of my car, forgot it was my car, and I locked the keys in. šŸ˜›

The movie was Into Great Silence (so quiet it drove me insane), and the radio program was CA Live, when Steve Ray (MP3 clip) answered the question on creation-evolution. Just kidding. šŸ‘

I remember that movie. I was much too young to see it in a theater, but one of the three networks (before cable TV!) showed it during prime time, to some controversy.

I was appalled.
Before cable? You were underage? So you’re not talking Brokeback Mountain, presumably - you’ve got me curious now as to which film that might’ve been. PM me if you don’t want to upset people’s delicate sensibilities in the thread.

I’m going to guess Deliverance is the unnamed movie here. I saw it about five years ago and thought it was very well done, but truly disturbing in a Lord of the Flies kind of way.

I knew that movie was Deliverance. I was a young teen when it was released into movie theaters, so was not interested at all. I totally loved the music, though. It was all over the radio. I think it’s called Dueling Banjos.

I saw Deliverance on TV just a few months ago, but did not catch all of it, just the second half or maybe a little less. I actually caught it the next day too and I only saw just a bit more. I’m sure that it was edited nicely for TV. I never could have handled that movie when I was younger, but now I find the themes very interesting. I guess because I am a woman. Looking at it objectively and keeping in mind I didn’t see all of it, I’d say that at it’s core it is more about manhood, violence, secrets, fear, group psycology vs. independent action, than about homosexuality. I didn’t think that it was consentual homosexuality either, meaning I thought it was either rape or coersion that happened, but I missed that actual part I guess. Anyway, yes, it is very disturbing. I think the only way to enjoy the movie is to look at it objectively as a psycological study put into a screenplay. Most people are not looking for that in a movie, though.

In 1982, a boyfriend took me to one of the Charles Bronson movies. I forgot the name of the series. There was a rape scene near the beginning. These men broke into his home and the maid was alone. The scene was pretty graphic for that time. I didn’t walk out, I ran out. I was in the bathroom crying my guts out and shaking all over. My boyfriend apologized and said he didn’t expect that and that his movies were not like that before. That was the last time I let him pick a movie without me! I had nightmares for days.

Sahara Went to see it because of Dustin Hoffman and Warren Beaty. It was totally dreadful.

Also walked out of Midnight Cowboy and some other thriller movie that had a mad dentist in it.

That movie was very strange, I agree. It was supposed to be one of the blockbusters of its time. I guess we had to be there.šŸ˜› I think it was just disturbing, and strange…I finished it,but just didn’t like it all that much.

I saw part of Deliverance, and the scene was a rape, but it was mostly off camera (I think, unless I saw an edited version)

I know exactly the scene of the Charles Bronson one. It was so disturbing and frightening. Pretty graphic for today too, I think.

I think you might mean Ishtar?šŸ™‚

I did see Midnight Cowboy, it was well made, not very graphic, but sooooooooo depressing. 😦

Yes. The only movie I ever remember walking out on was, ā€œPanic Room.ā€ I decided it wasn’t worth the $1-2 I spent on it (cheap show, months after original release), and the language offended me, which is odd because I swear like the salvation of the world depends upon me doing so.

Other than that, I can tolerate any movie. I have, not to brag, seen the worst movie ever made…and lived to tell.

I just rememered another one I didn’t like.

Toys with Robin Williams in it. Walked out after about 20 minutes.

And this was long before he bashed my faith. šŸ˜›

I just remembered the Robin Williams movie I wish I had walked out on. I’m pretty sure the name is Photo Guy. He played a mild mannered employee of a quiet big box type of store and he worked behind the photo counter. The guy turns out to be something of a psycho. The director was very good at pulling you into the plot and Robin Williams was extremely good. So it was really hard to leave. I was disturbed by it, especially towards the end which was pretty graphic and sexually twisted, and ended up feeling totally depressed when I left. I remember I actually went to a manager and asked for a refund and he couldn’t give me one because I hadn’t left the movie, but he gave me a free pass for my next movie. I learned from that experience never go to a Robin Williams movie just because you love some of his work!

I feel asleep during Bourne Identity. I really just don’t understand why that is a good movie?🤷

Fantasia - it just got boring…

Dr. Dolittle - the old Rex Harrison version. I think it may have just been too long as I love old movies. (Harvey is a fav!)

The Ten Commandments - 😊 I get bored EVERY TIME I try to sit through it… I love King of Kings, do I get any points back for that one?

I guess I just have a short attention span.

Anything with Jennifer Aniston in it.

The Good Girl…terrible

Friends with Money…garbage

Rumor has it…blah

You don’t like Jennifer Anniston?lol I can honestly say, I have never seen a movie with her in it…oh wait, I take that back. Bruce Almighty had her in it, but she played a side role.

The three that I mentioned were terrible. I wanted to write her and ask her for my hour and a half back. I felt so used. After I saw Good Girl, I was disgusted with her. That movie was total garbage and vowed to not watch another movie of hers. But that was several years ago and I cannot remember what I had for breakfast, let alone vowing to this. So DW wanted to watch Friends with Money and…if it was my movie I would have smashed it with a hammer. :banghead:

I am now remembering my vow.

(just as an aside, I did not mind here in supporting roles, Bruce Almighty, Office Space)

She also made a movie with Ben Stiller that was really bad. Polly something. It also had the girl who plays Grace from Will and Grace. I saw bits of it on TV and it is so bad for all three of them, but Jen Aniston plays a real nitwit.

Office Space was good. I remember how she got in trouble with her boss for not wearing enough ā€œflairā€. It’s really typical of that kind of a job.šŸ™‚
