Well, I love the man that plays Big. He is so handsome and his character is sweet. And I like their romance. But the only other person I like is Charlotte. At least she has some morals.lol–yes, I know.

I used to have a boss who said she liked watching Sex and the City because she married young and has been married so long so feels like she missed out. Vicarious thrills, I guess. I’ve been single all my life. I told her, “You’re not missing anything. That’s not the way it is for most of us.”
The major thing I think I dislike about the show, interestingly enough, is (particularly as a So. Cal girl) I find those women to be very superficial and probably a poor example of single working women in New York. The whole thing about the fancy expensive shoes really turns me off too. When you do anything but simply sit in expensive, beautiful, strappy shoes you are going to ruin them and your feet are going to hurt. It’s so unreal. Come on, don’t tell me she is actually walking down the streets of New York in those shoes! How about buying some athletic shoes from K-Mart and giving the left over money to the homeless?! Well, at least Sara Jessica has an affordable clothing line even if her character is spending too much on shoes.

LOL–so true! I wear high heels, and I have blisters…I don’t go skipping down the street like Carrie in that show used to do. haha!
The irony of that show really is that the whole premise is supposed to be about how women don’t ‘need men’ to take care of them…etc…and they are big career women (I have a career but God and my family comes first) who act like they are in charge, etc…meanwhile…in the episodes I’ve seen–they sleep with any man who will give them the time of day…men with no jobs, no lives, who are mean to them…etc etc…So, to me, the irony is that in the end, these women just end up looking desperate. Beautiful and fashionable…but desperate, and sleazy. I didn’t notice that aspect of that show when I first started watching it, but the further I immersed myself in my faith…dh and I just could no longer watch that it. Being truly a strong woman, has nothing to do with controlling men. Or behaving like one. And, I also didn’t like the undertones of man bashing.
I won’t be wasting my $9 on that one! :dts:

I never have although I probably should have. I remember not getting through some really awful rented movies I’ve gotten…can’t remember though what they were. I have found I am not good at picking videos and end up with the worst movies!!! But I manage to pick better movies to go see in the theater probably because it cost so much now days; so I’m more picky. I used to love to go to matinees by myself; but they have got too expensive as well…and the movies have gotten worse too! So I haven’t been in a long time.

I just remembered I walked out on the movie about the dog named Winn Dixie (a big golden retriver that looked like it was smiling), only because I snuck onto the theater after another movie and I needed to catch the last bus running back to my home. I know I shouldn’t sneak in but the theater I go to is so big (14 theaters) that it’s a little hard to resist. I’ve only done it a couple of times. Anyway, I was really enjoying that movie and didn’t want to leave. I’d like to see the rest of it on DVD.

ROFL! So do mine…my dh watches the behind the scenes footage also…it was just on a few days ago. It’s like enough already…don’t you know by now how they came up with the sound of Chewbacca by now?**You and me both!!!AND my kids LOVE them (thanks to DH)! I just don’t ‘get it’.

There’s only two I’ve walked out on. One was a trashy pornographic film allegedly pretending to be historical (about the Roman Emperor Caligula) and the other was Kill Bill - all that senseless violence got to me.

ahh one of these…or rented a movie and shut it off only after about 20 minutes of trying to see if it would improve? We have! lol I thought I’d start a thread to hear of those movies that you thought were so horrible or boring, that you just couldn’t sit through it. It will be interesting if I happened to love those movies, however.
Here are a few of mine:
1)Three Can Play That Game (LOVED Two Can Play that Game but this one was terrible…the main character was trying to be passed off as 28, and she is in her 40’s…in addition to poor humor, and trying to force something, it stunk)
I’ll have to think of some more!
- Little Children–way weird!
- March of the Penguins–yes, it was good from a ‘I now know a lot about penguins’ stand point, but boring…I fell asleep…I think I was too tired to get up to shut it off…lol
- Anchorman–just not well done

“whats a race of arms?”, “Two nukes are better than one”, and last but not least, “the Stalin Identity” “the Stalin supremecy” " the stalin Ultimatum" ( needless to say, these were action films. )
I couldnt quite leave the screening as we would be tickled to death by my fellow comrades
but when I got my first flight mission after I was assigned the Russian air force I Landed in America to make a new living. Then I converted to Catholicism.I still have my AK and tons of O’ll Rusky stuff just to darn cool to throw away. Who could find such things in America

I never went out of a theatre because of a movie, but I already changed the channel I was watching because of some movies, for example: Waterworld and Elektra (these movies are so boring!). :yawn: I’m not a Batman fan and I also don’t like Coyote Ugly very much.
I also never saw any Terminator movie. And I’ll never see Starship Troopers again (I saw it once). It’s an horrible movie!
