**As Catholics we are not single-issue voters. Yet if a candidate’s position on a single issue promotes an intrinsically evil act, such as legal abortion, redefining marriage in a way that denies its essential meaning, or racist behavior, a voter may legitimately disqualify a candidate from receiving support. **
Note that the phrase mentions the candidate, not the party. It even says that we are to see beyond party politics. Also:
PJM quote> 35. There may be times when a Catholic who rejects a candidate’s unacceptable position
even on policies promoting an intrinsically evil act may reasonably decide to vote for that
candidate for other morally grave reasons. Voting in this way would be permissible only for truly grave moral reasons, not to advance narrow interests or partisan preferences or to ignore a fundamental moral evil.
However, two principles to consider are that moral equivalency must be avoided (comparing poverty to abortion, e.g.) and incremental improvement is acceptable, even though no Catholic teaching is “negotiable

Guaranteeing Civil Rights… 18 Guaranteeing Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights … 19
Pg. 19 “. We support a progressive vision of religious freedom that respects pluralism and rejects the misuse of religion to discriminate.”
Pg 45 “We will support sexual and reproductive health and rights around the globe. In addition to expanding the availability of affordable family planning information and contraceptive supplies, we believe that safe abortion must be part of comprehensive maternal and women’s health care and included as part of America’s global health programming.
Therefore, we support the repeal of harmful restrictions that obstruct women’s access to health care information and services, including the “global gag rule”
and the Helms Amendment that bars American assistance to provide safe, legal abortion throughout the developing world”
“Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender People Democrats believe that LGBT rights are human rights and that American foreign policy should advance the ability of all persons to live with dignity, security, and respect, regardless of who they are or who they love.
We applaud President Obama’s historic Presidential Memorandum on International Initiatives to Advance the Human Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Persons, which combats criminalization, protects refugees, and provides foreign assistance. We will continue to stand with LGBT people around the world, including fighting efforts by any nation to infringe on LGBT rights or ignore abuse.” END QUOTES
