When you don’t believe, you reject God’s mercy. And when you reject God’s mercy, you yourself ask for suffering.
Hope that helps. 🙂
No, it’s utter nonsense. Why would an omnipotent and omniscient being, capable of creating universes like this one care about whether someone believes in it or not?
The islamic or protestant concept of hell makes no sense. A merciful and loving god would not torture someone for not believing or torture eternally for whatever misdeed. On the other hand, a just god would judge one for his misdeeds regardless of whether one is a believer or not.
If there is really a benevolent and just god and not a sadistic and jealous tyrant, something like purgatory is the only hellish part of an afterlife that makes sense. No flattering intended but that’s one strong argument for Catholicism compared with other monotheistic beliefs.

Actually, it will be better if you start a separate thread.

Although I don’t know the mind of God, my personal opinion is that God wants us to know him and love him because it is the very reason he created us. The Bible says that God IS LOVE. The very nature of love is such that it wants to express itself. Therefore God created man, to love him and to make man fall in love with himself. But when man rejected God’s friendship through sin, God himself paid the price for that sin by sending his Son Jesus to die on the cross. So God wants us to believe in him and in his Son Jesus and to do good works.

I’ll leave that for them to answer.

God does indeed judge a person according to his deeds. The Catholic position is that if a person is genuinely and innocently unaware of the gospel of Christ, and is still trying to live a good life pleasing to God, it is possible for that person to be saved. But if a person knowingly rejects the gospel of Christ, it is really a misdeed, and he shall be judged for it.

The Bible teaches that God is a consuming fire (Heb 12:29). So Heaven is actually a very very hot place! 🙂 It is only those souls that have been purified or** purged **(purgatory) that can stand in the presence of God without being harmed by that fire. If this purification takes place on earth itself, well and good. Otherwise the purification takes place in purgatory and mind you, that’s painful!

Those souls that don’t repent of their evil deeds reject purification. And as I said earlier, God does not force his will upon people. So these people are **not worthy **to stand in the presence of God, for his fiery presence will burn them up, for they are not purified. These people go to hell. Hell fire, theologians say, is actually colder than Heavenly fire (God himself) 😉 .

Because God gives you a chance to know him and to love him. He has given you the chance and/or free will say, to whether you want to open up that bible or not. He has left a book for you to read and grasp, and to believe this book. He has given us the Holy Mass to attend in his absence.
All these chances will go unnoticed from an atheist’s point of view, therefore suffer the consequences. Makes sense to me.

There are 99 names belonging to Allah which refers to His many attributes and of them, here are a few which adequately describes God as being the Greatest Terrorist there is.

**AL-JABBÂR – the Compeller

AL-MUDHILL – The Humiliator

AL-MUMÎT – The Causer of death

AL-MUNTAQIM – The Lord of Retribution, The Avenger**

There is therefore no problem at all for Muslims to accept that God will have no qualms whatsoever to send many of His creations to the Hell-fire.

Once you have put this picture of God in your mind, then it becomes very easy for you to accept all of the other attributes that He has.

Many Christians however, have a real big problem in picturing that an all-loving God will send His creations to Hell and instead they will cling to the notion that it is not God but rather it will be the creations who will send themselves to the fires of Hell.

And I might add, most atheists and agnostics who have been brought up in a “Judaeo-Christian” environment, whether they realise it or not, have subconsciously accepted this image of an all-loving God and they too are unable to reconcile that such a loving and compassionate God can be capable of sending His creations to the Hell-fire.

This to a Muslim is just not logical as it goes against the very attributes of the Creator that He will not have the heart to send His creations to the Hell-fire.

Dear hamba,a simple question please try to answer with yes or no:).In islamic view point will all non muslim people go to hell and will stay there forever?not from other muslim fellow i want answer just from my brother/sister hamba2han(if he/she want to answer me).because i know islamic theory(about hell or heaven)but some muslim friend deny it.so please hamba reply me if you do not have any problem.your answer will be enough i guess.bless you.🙂
"Most Roman and Turk Christians in this era are included in the mercy of Allah, I meant those who live far and the message of Islam has not reached them. They are in three categories :
  1. Those who didn’t even hear the name of the prophhet Mohammed (Pbuh),they are excused.
  2. Those who have heard his name (Mohammed),message and miracles, those who live near Islamic countries and interact with them…they are disbelievers.
  3. Those who have heard his name (Mohammed) but not his message. and they have heard that his a liar who claimed to be a prophet from God. They are the same as (1)

Is hell an eternal state or a temporary one in Islam?

Since Paradise in Islam seems to be more about earthly pleasures with the sin removed and not about union with God, is Hell in Islam a place of physical punishment but still within the presence of God?

nicolas:),i know that what you have explained.i just wanted to know hamba2han’s view point.our brother planten don’t think non muslims as kafir.but as an ex muslim i know that all non muslims are kafir and non believer and they will eternally go to hell(according to islamic faith).but why hamba didn’t reply me i can guess:).anyway leave this.

All who reject Islam will enter Hell for all of eternity.

I suppose that this will include most non-Muslims.

Why should this come as news to anyone?

I disagree with you hamba2han, read my previous post …

According to Al-Ghazali, not all non-muslims will go to eternal hell … those are:

1)Who have received (only) the distorted image of Islam.
2)Who have never received any.

Yes, there are exceptions of course.

A person who has never heard of Islam or the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and who has never heard the message in its correct and true form, will not be punished by Allah if he dies in a state of kufr (disbelief).

If it were asked what his fate will be, the answer will be that Allah will test him on the Day of Resurrection: if he obeys, he will enter Paradise and if he disobeys he will enter Hell.

The evidence (daleel) for this is the hadeeth of al-Aswad ibn Saree’, who reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "There are four (who will protest) to Allah on the Day of Resurrection: the deaf man who never heard anything, the insane man, the very old man, and the man who died during the fatrah (the interval between the time of 'Eesaa (Jesus, upon whom be peace) and the time of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)). The deaf man will say, ‘O Lord, Islam came but I never heard anything.’ The insane man will say, ‘O Lord, Islam came but the children ran after me and threw stones at me.’ The very old man will say, ‘O Lord, Islam came but I did not understand anything.’ The man who died during the fatrah will say, ‘O Lord, no Messenger from You came to me.’ He will accept their promises of obedience, then word will be sent to them to enter the Fire. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, if they enter it, it will be cool and safe for them."

According to another report, he said: “Whoever enters it, it will be cool and safe for him, and whoever does not enter it will be dragged to it.” (The hadeeth was reported by Imaam Ahmad and Ibn Hibbaan, and deemed saheeh by al-Albaani, Saheeh al-Jaami’, 881).

So hell is eternal for non-Muslims. How convinient.

Now, what about my second question: is God with you in Hell or are you separated from him?

IN Christain understanding, Heaven is the place of pure unity with God, regardless of any pleasures of an earthly nature. This seems opposite to Islam. Hell in Christianity is the chosed separation from God. It also incorporates the punitive state for the Fallen Angels, a place not intended for men but where men will go. The true and harshest punishment of hell is knowing that you chose to be there instead of with God. Would either of these understandings fit Islam?

God loves all of his creation, why would he throw good people who are non Muslim into damnation?
This sounds like a command given by someone else other than God.

Without God,but angels of punishment(actually angels of hell)will punish us in islamic hell fire;).but we(me&you also;))all non muslims will again and again beg pardon to God(allah),but that day he won’t hear us:).

Dear friend dolphi,we know, islamic God isn’t our God;).Ya you are correct.God never gave this theory of hell fire for us(human being).but muhammed gave this theory, isn’t it?:).So who won’t obey muhammed’s theory they will Go to islamic hell.😃

“No, they deny the Hour (of the judgment to come), but We have prepared a blazing fire for such as deny the Hour. When it sees them from a far off place, they will hear its fury and its raging sigh. And when they are cast, bound, in chains, into constricted place therein, they will plead therein for destruction. Do not plead today for a single destruction; plead for destruction oft-repeated.”

“Their abode will be Hell. Every time it abates. We will increase for them the blaze (the fierceness) of the fire.”

Who’s “we”?

There is only so much warning that we can give people because we too need to leave the beach in a hurry especially when we see the tell-tale signs that a tsunami is indeed coming.
But what proof that your tsunami sign is a true one.😉

And still you didn’t answer my question!
hamba2han;3970600:
Remember that if Islam does indeed turn out to be the Truth,
hamba2han, if Islam doesn’t turn out to be the truth, what would you tell God The Most High on the judgement day if he asked you why you didn’t follow Jesus teachings and followed a man who came 600 years after him, while Jesus himself warned you of false prophets before that, what would be your answer?

With the exception of the “fallen angels” part which Islam says is plainly wrong, the remainder of your understanding above regarding Paradise and Hell seems to be in line with Islamic teachings.

So the ultimate reward in Islamic heaven is unity with God and the ultimate punishment in hell is separation from God?

DO Muslims not have an understanding of Fallen Angels?
