You know I just read that book like a year ago, and it was alright for the first 7-10 letters, but then got rather boring. 😊 I liked Mere Christianity better.

I’m trying to check that one out at my library. Sorry I took you all wrong earlier too by the way.😊 I should not assume like that.

I don’t want to know specifics, unless you feel like sharing them but are rituals involved in your religion? Also you said that satan may need permission but he can dole it out himself. That interested me, because I agree there, except I believe his days for having the ability to get permission are numbered. He can do it now though, sure. Do you feel his relationship as it exists now with God will remain permenantly this way? If you say it won’t, then what if his day is up next week?

Imryl,

I’m glad you don’t know when his time is up, and even more glad to know that you realize it will be someday.
That may sound funny to some people reading this, but I actually am leaving this thread with a much more positive feeling than I had yesterday. Because Imryl is clearly not giving Satan more power than anyone else is or crediting him with anymore power than he actually has. Of course, its not a religion for me but at least its not what I thought it was.🙂

For Imryl:

Of all that I have read here so far, nothing has concerned me as much as you saying you feel you will go to Hell, willingly to parphrase.

I am not trying to trick you, but do you wish that for your daughter as well?

If you don’t, I would like to know why. If you do, then the situation is graver than I thought and perhaps you may wish to explain.

This is what I mean; to wish Hell or damnation on oneself can easily be explained. I can understand that, you are not be alone. But to wish it for a loved one is another matter altogether.

May I ask which it is? If you have answered already in another post, I may have missed it.

The reason I ask (again, not to trick) is that if you wish it on your daughter, you either believe it is a good thing, or you are inherently evil. If you feel like you would not wish it on your daughter, then that would show a parently love that would never be welcome in Hell. I imagine you would have to fight a legion of angels to get there.

Hope I’m not digging too deep.

Victor

I don’t pretend to think that I am inherently evil. I’m not. My daughter is probably the only person that would give me pause though. Then again, I’ve never agreed to a baptism. Only time will tell I guess.

Why? Probably because women are hardwired to protect and serve their children. 🤷

There is a great quote from St. Augustine to explain it, and I just can’t remember what it is. Sad day indeed!

Imryl,

Is there anyone you have succeded in turning away from God directly or indirectly that you know of, or were at least a contributing factor to doing so? If yes, would you be comfortable telling us how many if it was more than one?

I have no way of knowing.

I have no way of knowing.
Don’t worry. Neither do christians know if their evangelizing actually will have a payout. Or if the ones they have evangelized to, (that accepted it) are even going to cut it in the end.
I don’t believe in eternal security, so who knows what will happen.

Greetings,

I am a new member here and am a LeVeyan Satanist. I believe in tolerance and I’m here for intellectual conversations about religion, nothing more. We’re not as harmful as we sound, not even close. And though our beliefs are different I know we can get along just fine. If you do wish to flame me, insult me, curse me to the depths of oblivion, or anything else, remember I am still a child. Well, essentially, technically a teenager. But not an adult, none the less.

DON’T try to convert me, that is a step too far, even if you have righteous motives they’ll be in vain. Here’s to looking forward to many conversations. Cheers,

Peace to you and your family,
God loves you beyond your wildest dreams and does not condemn you nor is He angry at you.🙂

Yes. Strength, perseverance, patience, the ability to do what I need to do, and the ability to ignore that pesky conscience of mine!
and just where did that “pesty” conscience go from?hmm? may i inquire as to what it does that would be “pesky”

hmm this is a very interesting thread! i may have missed it somewhere up the line, but do Satanists go to a specific place of worship on a certain day of the week like most Christians do? and if its not too personal- could u share some examples of your rituals/practices (like how Christians read the Bible, pray the rosary, partake of the Eucharist, etc…) just wondering- not considering Satinism(?) for me, just curious.

I suspect you are not evil as well. I don’t understand you when you say that your daughter is the only person that would give you pause. Can you explain?

Why? Probably because women are hardwired to protect and serve their children. 🤷

Are you implying that your love for your daughter is simply an animalistic instinct? Or are you trying to convince yourself of it?

There is a great quote from St. Augustine to explain it, and I just can’t remember what it is. Sad day indeed!
My main question still remains; Are you angry at God and trying to hurt yourself, or are you running to the dark side for other reasons. Again, I am not attempting to trick you, but I hope you realize that if you have anger towards God, that is most likely healthier than you think. Perhaps you have justifiable reasons for hating Him.

Without diggin too deep as to reasons why, I would remind you that Love and Anger/Hate are very closely related human emotions. Love and Hate are fractions of a milisecond apart. Now the real crime, and the most difficult to heal, woudl be total Apathy towards God.

God will accept your passion, misdirected as it may be. Not my place to judge. But I’m sure that you will not be the first child to pound on His chest in anger.

Hope this all makes sense to you. Please tell me to shut up if I’m going too far.

Victor

Funny but I see no replies from the original poster, have they left us to chase ourselves, round & round???

I do not practice with others. I’m sure some do. But as to particular days of the week? I haven’t a clue. (If you ask me, every day is the devils day.) As I’ve said previously, no one Satanist practices the same way or believes the same way. That goes for Diabolists, theistic Satanists and even LaVeyan Satanists.

Since this thread was originally about LaVeyan Satanism, and if you’re really curious, you can read their texts which are written by Antony LaVey at the following links…

The Satanic Bible
The Satanic Rituals

Although, over the years, many of the Rituals that LaVeyan Satanists practiced have fallen to the wayside.

To be honest when he mispelled “LaVey” I had to wonder if it was a legit post… but then I misspelled it later on so I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt. 🤷

Meaning I pause once in a while just looking at her. 😉
Are you implying that your love for your daughter is simply an animalistic instinct?
Nah.
Are you angry at God and trying to hurt yourself, or are you running to the dark side for other reasons.
I’m not angry at God. The other reasons, well… yes there are other reasons. None of them good. And by good I mean the reasons I like them are good, but what I do doesn’t fall under the category of “good”. If that makes sense. And yes I’m purposely being vague.
Hope this all makes sense to you.
Yes it does.

This thread seems very uncomfortable to read, especially how one wants one to actually read the satanic bible…

Dear. The Satanic Bible is quite possibly the single most boring, pointless book anyone can ever read. I highly doubt most people get through the first couple of pages. If someone wants to waste their time… by all means.

But to be fair! Here are some of the books I like to read, which are also in PDF format. I couldn’t find “Mere Christianity” though, even though I used to have a link to it.

The Four Cardinal Virtues by Joseph Pieper
The Catechetical Instructions of St. Thomas Aquinas

And a good number of Catholic ebooks can be found here

Wow! What a lively forum :). I’ll definitely have to check by here reguarly. Well, to answer some of your questions; I was born Christian. Mother is somewhat religious and my Dad is agnostic. I’ve been reading up on theology and other religious studies since I was 9, I felt rushed, I needed to know where I was going before it was too late. I still feel that way, to a lesser degree.

And yes, the wikipedia article on LeVeyan Satanism is dead on. It’s an athiest(godless) religion that believes in the empowerment of self, it’s not better than other religions, just a different take on the whole grand scheme of things :). I just wish it was chosen a better name than Satanism, just sounds dreadful, doesn’t it?

It saddens me to hear that other Satanists have had ill conduct here in the past. I assure you, though I’m a minor, I will act maturely and converse in a respectful manner.

Hopefully I’m not getting too personal, but I’m just curious, how long have all of you been into your religion? I’ve been a Satanist for only a year now, and an athiest for 6.

It really lifts my spirits to see a large group of people devoted to their religion, really clears up your life, doesn’t it?
