It is true, Jesus was never mentioned on TBAA, but compared to most other TV shows, I would say for ‘secular’ t.v. this show was an excellent show.
:yup:

I didn’t watch TBAA for theology–just to be uplifted and inspired.
👍

No one’s said it yet in this thread so I may as well be the first…

Betty Hutton (convert)
Lana Turner (convert)
Frank Capra - directo

Lawrence Welk
Paris Hilton
Claudette Colbert
Jenna Jamison

Regis Philbin
Peter O Toole

Regis Philbin
And so is his co-host, Kelly Ripa and her husband Mark Consuelos. I think they’ve been practicing NFP since they have 3 children. But as far as now, I don’t know since it’s been a while since they’ve had a new baby. But of course that does not necessarily mean that they are not practicing NFP. I hope they do have more kids if it’s God’s will. 🙂

A little unimportant trivia about Mark Consuelos;
He was born in Spain of Mexican parents but does not speak Spanish. He lived in Italy for a time so he does speak Italian.
I just find it strange that he was born in Spain and is Mexican but does not speak Spanish.
I was born here in the U.S. I’m Mexican and I DO speak Spanish. How can someone be born in Spain to Mexican parents and NOT speak Spanish? 😛 Oh well.

I just watched an old film on TV. Let’s add Irene Dunne and Charles Boyer.
In the movie they were in a chapel and each performed the sign of the cross… as only long-time Catholics would do it.

Matthew

He’s not exactly a Hollywood star, but he’s definitely a Hollywood icon. And probably the most famous American Catholic of all time:

Al Capone:)

I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned him, but the actor that plays Desmond on Lost is catholic. Sorry, can’t remember his name.

Andy Warhol (not sure that I spelled his name right) was Catholic. I read in an article that he went to church everyday. I know he was homosexual and probebly practised the life style, but I won’t even pretend to have the right to judge him. He seemed like a truely tortured soul.
According to Lou Reed he was a daily communicat.
But he was gay and have a life long lover.
Lest face it there are men that could be perfect catholics if they were not gay. That is something that should be faced. In the end is up to God.
Oscar Wilde and Liberace also comes to mind.

An old favorite of mine. James Cagney. He also stayed married to his wife and always loved her.

Michael Gross, the dad from Family Ties, I always heard is a very strong Catholic.

Danny Thomas (Maronite Catholic)
Gracie Fields
Hitchcock (convert, I think)
Dennis Day
Annette Funicello
Bing Crosby
Lou Costello

Hmmm, looks like I’m dating myself.😃
I actually have photos of Annette’s CATHOLIC WEDDING in a scrap book. Not dating myself, it’s an odd thing I have! 😛

Best summary of this problem was in Chesterton, talking about charges that Hitler was a Catholic:
He was baptized Catholic. By the same standard, Huxley was an Anglican.
(referring to famous atheist and Darwin populariser Thomas Huxley)
The only bit of Hitler I know being in Hollywood is at the Museum of Tolerance, a place built by the Jews who survived his death camps. Hitler does NOT equal Hollywood.

There is a difference between fame and infamy.

You can include Stalin and Mussolini in this vein.

Nope, sorry!! He’s pro-Abortion, and pro-feminism.

Well I know for sure that he’s an activist in the feminist movement. As far as being pro-Abortion, that’s what I’ve heard but I’m not 100% sure about that. So if someone knows otherwise please correct me if I’m wrong about the pro-Abortion thing.
“NOPE, sorry!!” He’s pro-feminism therefor he’s NOT CATHOLIC?

What the he-double-tooth-picks?

Down with those beastly females – huh?

Oh and by the way, a lot of people who are pro-choice (like many a republican who are benefitted by Roe vs. Wade) aren’t exactly tooting the PRO-ABORTION-horn. Many people who proclaim pro-choice are not likely hanging out getting monthly-abortions for Pete’s sake! I am not defending nor protesting anything, but this whole post of yours is simply WRONG WRONG WRONG.

Ignorance is NOT bliss here.

PRO-ABORTION? Good night…I have yet to meet a woman in favor of it. On EITHER side of the coin.

 How can you say that? First off, there is no such thing as a “perfect Catholic” unless they are already in Heaven. Secondly, just because someone is gay does not mean that they can’t be the best Catholic that they can be. There is nothing wrong with just “being gay.” It is actually living the life style that is a mortal sin. We have no idea if Andy actually lived the life style. So we can’t say anything about anything.

Oh sorry, you must be a feminist then.

That is not what “feminism” means in the eyes of the Catholic Church. You seem to think that not being a feminist means you are against women. You are WRONG. You need to look more into this “feminism” thing and what the Catholic Church teaches about the female heart & mind. I will not get into it with you so don’t ask me. Do the research.

Being Pro-Choice is being Pro-Abortion, Pro-Murder, Pro-Killing babies, Pro-Euthanasia. There is NOTHING good about being Pro-Choice. If you “choose” LIFE then don’t call yourself Pro-Choice and say, “I choose life.” In that case just say you’re Pro-Life.

You’re absolutely right about that.

So you think there are no women out there that are Pro-Abortion? Sorry but your ignorance of that is certainly not bliss.

Interview with a pro-choice student Check out this video on YouTube. This woman is Pro-Abortion. She is totally ignorant and it is not bliss. She is actually using the word “abortion” to describe what she believes in.

You’re in my prayers. Peace & God bless.

I was replying (did you notice the quote box? ) to someone who was saying that Hitler, Castro, and several others had been *baptized *Catholic but weren’t really–like several Hollywood “Catholics”.

Obviously. Who’s reading you this forum? I assume nobody not actually illiterate could have missed that quite obvious point.

Kindly don’t lecture people on your misunderstanding of out-of-context versions of what they say, if you don’t want them to treat you like a simpleton.
